Spotlight on MisterSir

I have to add as a side note that I was tickled pink when Buffy and Spike were fucking. A lot of S&M undertones. It was porn for me.:D

As I was thinking over it more closely, I realized that I masturbated a few times thinking of those scenes. Maybe I secretly enjoyed the way they disturbed me and have since blocked it out.

Is it not completely true, though?

Seriously.

I did like seeing Willow's hair turn black from the roots to the tips, like a magical dye job. :D

Two more questions: What's the significance of your avatar? And why do you oppose (not sure if that's the right word) an online-only D/s relationship?

Who's your favourite superhero and why?

Booster Gold. No, Iron Man. No, the Flash. No, Green Lantern! No, Beast! Goddammit ask me an easier one!

If you can change one thing about the society in which you currently live in, what would it be and why?

Within BDSM, it'd be the laughable assumption that older practitioners are seen as more experienced and thus more respected than those at the younger end of the scale. That should be fairly obvious, coming from me. In the vanilla world, it'd be the equally laughable bias towards the mother in divorce custody cases - if I didn't think they were doing more harm than good, I'd sign up to Fathers 4 Justice because it's criminal what's going on there.

What are some of your pet peeves?

I'm a tiny bit obsessive-compulsive, so things being out of order get to me, like CDs being in the wrong boxes or up the wrong way or things not being parallel to table edges, that sort of thing. It does not, apparently, mean mess annoys me.

What is the most important quality for you?

In ladyfolk? Loyalty is obviously one of them, as I have to be able to trust her to keep secret behaviour and acts that might have me in jail otherwise, and it'd be nice if we had a similar sense of humour because I like to be able to make people laugh. Being pretty doesn't hurt either.

How did you discover Lit?

Answered not long ago. Got directed here from the BDSM Library forums and set up shop.

Whoa. Did the boards just shit a brick or what?

I have a thing for Felicia Day.

Damn skippy, but I believe that under the official international rules of Shotgun, “shotgun” has already been called. And if it hasn’t – shotgun.

Two more questions: What's the significance of your avatar? And why do you oppose (not sure if that's the right word) an online-only D/s relationship?

My avatar was recently changed to the logo for the Red Lantern Corps simply because at that point I was very super-angry. If that doesn’t make sense, here’s a crash course in Green Lantern history: there are seven Lantern Corps in the universe, one for each colour of the rainbow and each colour represents a different emotion, which the members of each Corps are “powered” by. Green’s is willpower, blue is hope, indigo is compassion, violet is love, yellow is fear, orange is greed and red is rage, hence the Red Lantern Corps.

As for your second question, it’s fairly simple. While I understand the merits of using the Internet in a long-distance relationship, the differences between something that never progresses to beyond the Internet and something that just uses it as a tool are so absolute I almost can’t see why people even want to entertain the thought of an online-only D/s relationship. Sure, a dom can feel dominant and a sub can feel submissive, but compared to being in something real and physical, it’s like watching a football game on TV – you think you’re getting the same experience, screaming at the quarterback for making a mistake and so on, but you really aren’t. I have no interest in it because it just seems pointless.

they've been down since 5:something am yesterday but are apparently up as of last night/this morning. for some reason, you could post, but the site refused to display any new posts/threads. it also apparently kept displaying notifications of PMs you already read (see my related thread on how to). the GB and AH both have threads on it.

it strikes me as an issue with the server clock.

mistersir quoth:
i don't know what makes joss' productions so entertaining, but you have to acknowledge the work of his cast in that - i don't think i've ever been struck by somebody in buffy or firefly that just doesn't belong.
well, to be honest, i'm underwhelmed by both SMG and eliza dushku--but perhaps that's just me. :>

1. i wasn't aware you are a comic book fan. what do you think of season 8 of buffy?

2. i see you're clearly well-versed in DC lore. most fans/readers have a distinct preference: batman or superman. of the two, which do you favor?

3. what precisely is a "rawkfist"?

ed

1: Haven't read it. I do mean to, I just haven't, and now I've found out Andrew is alive, well and training a cabal of Slayers in Italy I want to read it more.

2: Unlike my friends, I have no real preference between the two. My favourites are those outside the Trinity - the entire Green Lantern Corps and their mythos, Booster Gold, Green Arrow - and, though I do like the JLA and the DCAU, I go with Batman simply because his movies are better.

3: This.

\m/

And the only Batman movies that were any good were the Michael Keaton ones... let's not kidd ourselves, Val Kilmer was perhaps the worst choice of Batmans... ever!

mistersir: i've got fond memories of reading the first few issues of booster gold when it was released. it was so much fun!

1. what do you read nowadays, comics-wise?
2. whose superpower do you think would be most fun to possess in real life? no, citing darkseid or the like doesn't count.

ed

I understand that the marks on Rorschach's mask are supposed to resemble ink blots. Do they change with his moods? And how is it he is able to make them do that?

The only thing I'm currently reading as in month-by-month is Booster Gold. I have 1-6 and 21, 22 and 23, so I'm planning to fill in the gap with the trade collections. I'm also considering getting involved in Blackest Night, even if it's just the main title and none of the side stuff, and if I can find them anyway I want to get hold of the third, fourth and fifth Scott Pilgrims, ahead of the movie and #6 being released.

When I've been asked the question about superpowers before, my stock answer is to go back to the invisibility/intangibility combination. Quite apart from the perversion potential such a pairing allows, you could do just about anything without repercussions, or even anybody knowing you were responsible. It does not, however, lend itself well to heroism, so if I were supposed to be a big old hero, Justice Leaguer, one of the Avengers, I'd go with the Flash's super-speed. Considering he has to be toned down in the comics just to stop him doing everyone else's job (he runs at the speed of light!) I'd say he's a pretty strong choice.

I understand that the marks on Rorschach's mask are supposed to resemble ink blots. Do they change with his moods? And how is it he is able to make them do that?

The official answer on the moods is that no, they don't, but there are occasions where the art seems to contradict that. There are two or three times where he's surprised by someone or something, and in those cases the mask looks near identical. As for how he's able to make them do that...I have no idea. Dr. Manhattan does it for him.

And the only Batman movies that were any good were the Michael Keaton ones

Please. Christian Bale would eat his face.

Hello MisterSir,

I know we haven't "spoken" before, but I'll ask some questions:

1. Have you ever been unable to get an erection or to keep one while with your partner?

2. Have you ever kissed a guy on the lips? If so, would you do it again? If not, would you consider it?

3. How old were you when you first realized you were interested in the BDSM community, and how did you proceed to go forward to where you are now in it?

4. I should probably know this but I'll ask anyways. Do you consider yourself a Dom, a Sub or a Switch? Or perhaps a Top or a Bottom? Or even just a Sadist or a Masochist?

5. What did you do while Lit was down nearly the entire day yesterday? Did you consider what you did to be constructive with your time or was it more of a "yeah, I can do fu**all today" kind of thing.

Is there a book that you wish that you have written?

Is there a language that absolutely enthrals you?

What frequently misspelled word drives you up the wall?

What is your "type" of woman?
tall / short / thin / fluffy / blonde hair / black hair / what personality traits interest you the most / smile or eyes / ass or boobs
so on and so forth. You're a smart guy, you get the hint :p be my guest and add in more than just my question, go outside the box if you will :)

Hello MisterSir,

I know we haven't "spoken" before, but I'll ask some questions:

I haven't properly spoken with half the people here, relax. Not like you can make any big mistakes, is it?

1. Have you ever been unable to get an erection or to keep one while with your partner?

I stand very much corrected. I'm fairly certain I've mentioned it before, although a) my memory is fucking appalling and b) I've probably lied and said otherwise for the purpose of screwing with somebody, but I'm a complete virgin. Yep. 21 years on this godforsaken rock and not even a kiss to show for it. Give me a kiss to build a dream on, in the words of Louis Armstrong.

2. Have you ever kissed a guy on the lips? If so, would you do it again? If not, would you consider it?

Interesting story actually. I don't count it, but at my equivalent of prom, a good friend of mine got fairly wasted and kissed me for a second or two, and I was left thinking "Wait, what the fuck just happened?" I wouldn't do it again, though, absolutely not. While there are sporadic occasions, normally when I'm reading erotic stories, where I find myself momentarily attracted to men, those are male-sub things and I'm never in the submissive position. Make what you will with that, I just figure I'm a 1 on the Kinsey scale.

3. How old were you when you first realized you were interested in the BDSM community, and how did you proceed to go forward to where you are now in it?

Go forward? I realised I was interested in BDSM at about eleven or thereabouts and have done fuck all ever since except accumulate a fanclub full of married, otherwise attached, American or psychologically messed-up women (and seriously, I have no idea what the fuck is going on there. I don't know where the fuck the single English submissives are but Jesus Christ I'd be a better choice than 99% of the other douchebags out there who lie through their teeth about their experience and shit. Who does a guy have to fuck to get a chance around here? Goddamn).

That was a bit more ranty than I originally meant, I apologise.

4. I should probably know this but I'll ask anyways. Do you consider yourself a Dom, a Sub or a Switch? Or perhaps a Top or a Bottom? Or even just a Sadist or a Masochist?

I have as little idea as you do, and that's a question that probably won't be answered for a while. I don't think I'm a top because I'm interested in BDSM as more than just something on the side, I'd like it to be a part of a day-to-day relationship, which leaves Master or Dominant and I can't really make a decision between those until I've experience some form of power exchange. There is, however, more than a little sadism in my blood, so that's that. I list myself as a top on Fetlife because "Unsure" apparently marks me as a pyl, and that shit don't fly.

5. What did you do while Lit was down nearly the entire day yesterday? Did you consider what you did to be constructive with your time or was it more of a "yeah, I can do fu**all today" kind of thing.

The same thing I do every day, Angel...try to take over the w-no, wait, that's not right. I gardened, because my parents are away and I've been tasked with keeping the plants alive, enjoyed having an empty house by indulging in some drumming practice and Rammstein at nine hundred decibels, made plans for today and finished reading "Hogfather". I'd call that a constructive day, no?

Is there a book that you wish that you have written?

Is there a language that absolutely enthrals you?

What frequently misspelled word drives you up the wall?

As in...like, an idea I've had in my head? Can't say that I have. It doesn't enthral me, because languages don't really do that for me, but I very much want to learn to speak German because I rather like the German language and can see it being very useful. And while there are many, people spelling "dominant" as "dominate" would get strangled if I could reach my hands through their computer screens, because the words sound totally fucking different!

What is your "type" of woman?
tall / short / thin / fluffy / blonde hair / black hair / what personality traits interest you the most / smile or eyes / ass or boobs
so on and so forth. You're a smart guy, you get the hint :p be my guest and add in more than just my question, go outside the box if you will

don't say felicia day don't say felicia day don't say felicia day...Felicia Day? goddammit i'm out of here

Ahem. In seriousness...

I don't mind their height. It'd be nice to be taller than her, but I'm not a tall guy and I can live with her being big. Other people might laugh but, at the end of the day, I'm fucking amazing and they are not. Similarly, while I have no time for people too far to one end of the scale or the other, weight isn't that big a deal either. Again, I'd like somebody thinner - not skinny, just not very visibly overweight - but I can live with it. Hair, while I don't mind any of the "standard" colours, anything that's unusual is a turn-on. Red is the most common example, but blue, green, pink, white if it's clearly not natural, all that is good in my book.

I think I touched on personality earlier, and some geeky traits would be very appreciated. Ideally, we'd like a lot of the same things. So long as she's not overly self-absorbed, treats me with respect and, of course, loves me, we're good.

Also, my favourite word today is "leitmotif", and that's a contender for favourite word of all time.

P.S. I've gotta admit, Angel has done the best job with the potentially-embarrassing questions so far.

P.P.S. And in the "Seriously, What?" files, I appear to have a fanclub of women who are attached but like me anyway. In the words of A.A. Milne, "what the fuck is this, goddamn I must be tripping balls". Spoiler: He may not actually have said that.

Hi MisterSir, welcome to Lit and the HT, it's nice to get to know you.

I'm going with my kinda-sorta standard question:

What's the first thing you think of when you see this picture and why?

LOL. You would be surprised the mistakes I could make here.

I stand very much corrected. Yep. 21 years on this godforsaken rock and not even a kiss to show for it. Give me a kiss to build a dream on, in the words of Louis Armstrong.

You may have said something, but I didn't go through all the posts, so I decided to just ask. Personally, I think it is cool that at 21 you are a virgin. Be proud of that, but you better go find a gal to kiss...now that you need to do.;)

Interesting story actually. I don't count it, but at my equivalent of prom, a good friend of mine got fairly wasted and kissed me for a second or two, and I was left thinking "Wait, what the fuck just happened?" I wouldn't do it again, though, absolutely not. Yeah, if he was wasted, don't count it. I'm not surprised you wouldn't do it again. I think most people are afraid to admit to even a momentary same-sex attraction during reading of erotic stories.

Go forward? I realised I was interested in BDSM at about eleven or thereabouts and have done fuck all ever since except accumulate a fanclub full of married, otherwise attached, American or psychologically messed-up women (and seriously, I have no idea what the fuck is going on there. Rant away MisterSir. At 11. Wow. Take it slow with finding someone. Don't make the mistake of going for the first one that comes along.

I don't know why, but I had a feeling that perhaps you were a sadist to some degree. I also think it is smart to not label yourself yet. It will come in time.

Gardening. Oh my. I say a very constructive day! WTG!

P.S. I've gotta admit, Angel has done the best job with the potentially-embarrassing questions so far.
I aim to please.

I keep coming back here. I think at first it was the Buffy discussion...then it was the fix to my addiction to asking questions...then it was the witty question-answering. I've decided not to fight it.

I just figure I'm a 1 on the Kinsey scale.

I figure I am about a 2--women don't gross me out and they occasionally turn me on, but I would never go out of my way to fuck one.

Go forward? I realised I was interested in BDSM at about eleven or thereabouts and have done fuck all ever since except accumulate a fanclub full of married, otherwise attached, American or psychologically messed-up women (and seriously, I have no idea what the fuck is going on there. This made me giggle like a schoolgirl again--except I was at home this time and had the freedom to giggle myself silly. :D

I'm sure we're all dying to know (or at least I am): why still a virgin, MisterSir? (I've answered this question way too many times myself and it can sure get tired--I have a ready-made answer by now.)

One of those bug zappers.

What? It's glowy and bright and I can't work out what the fuck it actually is supposed to be!

I'm sure we're all dying to know (or at least I am): why still a virgin, MisterSir? (I've answered this question way too many times myself and it can sure get tired--I have a ready-made answer by now. )

Well, I'm a psychological mess but, unlike a lot of other psychological messes, I'm not pretty enough to make up for that. To make matters worse, I'm quite a coward. It took the combined cajoling of something like eight people just to prompt me into asking somebody out over the Internet. It's not fun, if I'm honest. But, funny story:

Rant away MisterSir. At 11. Wow. Take it slow with finding someone. Don't make the mistake of going for the first one that comes along.

The first one that came along honestly did seem like she was perfect (maybe not for forever, but certainly at first), we did appear to connect rather well and I was rather optimistic about the whole venture finding out that, sadly, she was a fictional character AND a psychological mess. Fun times.

I don't know why, but I had a feeling that perhaps you were a sadist to some degree. I also think it is smart to not label yourself yet. It will come in time.

I'm going to treat that as a compliment of some kind.

Please. Christian Bale would eat his face.

I'll pretend you never said Mr. "I have throat cancer when I talk like batman" is better than Michael Keaton. There IS no other batman other than Michael Keaton (in exception to Adam West, I guess).

And although Heath Ledger had perhaps the most brilliant performance of the year, perhaps even the decade, my heart is still with Jack Nicholson as the ultimate Joker...

Here's another question:

If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? (And ur not allowed to wish for more wishes)

mac, if you'd ever read a batman comic, you'd know just how wrong you are re: actors who portrayed the dark night detective. :D

mistersir: if stranded on an otherwise charming isolated and deserted pacific island, what are the top ten things you'd want to have with you?

ed

Here's another question:

If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? (And ur not allowed to wish for more wishes)

Fuck, there goes my loophole.

OK. #1, and though you're not supposed to wish for it, is the love of a good woman. I do have a few in mind, but I trust the universe to not be a dick about it. #2, the body and martial artistry of a mixed martial artist - muscled to fuck, capable of removing a man's head from his shoulders with approximately two strikes. I'd want to keep my face and head, but everything below that...I'm thinking, Fedor Emilianenko? Anderson Silva? One of the two.

#3 I'd save. I'd want to have it kept aside just in case something in my life went catastrophically wrong.

mac, if you'd ever read a batman comic, you'd know just how wrong you are re: actors who portrayed the dark night detective. :D

No one on the face of this planet can make me believe Bale was a good batman, let alone he was a better batman than Keaton. Keaton = Ultimate Batman.

Since then, and the other incident where Bale lost his mind, I have absolutely NO respect for the actor whatsoever... I think he's a little full of himself.

rather than threadjack on mistersir's spotlight, let's move this to the isolated blurts thread. :>
