Spotlight on... satindesire

Thank you for your response .

If you could change one thing about the society you live in, what would it be and why?

What is the greatest misconception about you?

And when was the last time you've been pleasantly surprised?

How many children do you want and how long a gap between children?

I'd like to just have Brooklyn, and adopt more children in the future. How many is up to God, I suppose? :)

You're welcome!

I would change people's attitudes about sex. I want people to teach their children honestly and openly about sex so that the myths, the misconceptions, and the teen pregnancy and STD rate would drastically fall.

I have no idea what the biggest misconception about me is. I don't really socialize and I have no friends outside of my husband.

The last time I was pleasantly surprised was when I found out I had started the early stages of labor today and was already dilated, and Brooklyn had turned down into the birthing position. I'm only 35 weeks!

If you can get to 37 weeks, you'll be full-term--the longer the better. But maybe Brooklyn has other ideas!

They said she was big enough and if I did go into full labor, they wouldn't stop it.

Personally, I am SO READY to have this baby. I wouldn't mind it at all. :D

So are you going to be Mom, Mum, Mommy, Mother, Mama? ;)

I don't really know! I call my mom "Mom" but my dad has always been "Daddy". I suppose it just depends on what Brooke's preference is going to be!

As long as she doesn't call me by my first name. When a kid does that to their parents it makes me feel weird.

Have you had the baby yet?

Have you selected our next spotlighter?

I'd like to point out something I learned when my kids were little. Young children often do not know their parent's first names. Or, for that matter, their last names. So, when a lost toddler/preschool-aged child is asked, "what is your mommy's name?" He or she will respond, "Mommy." (Obviously, this is also true if asked for daddy's name).

We taught our girls our names early. Yes, it led to a few incidents in which they called us by name. But, a quick explanation, and people always understood. They haven't called us by our first names since they were 3 or 4, and it didn't happen very often at all. But, I knew that if they were lost they at least knew our names.

Sorry for the hi-jack, but felt like sharing and thought it may prove helpful.

Knowing our names and calling us "Megan" and "(daddy's name)" instead of "mom" and "daddy" is different.

I would prefer her to call me "Mom" instead of "Megan". If she called me by my first name instead of "mom" that would just feel...weird, you know what I mean? :D

Not yet, but I'm having contractions daily, and she's dropped the rest of the way into the birth canal. Since I have 8 days until my due date, it's literally down to the wire.

And thank you for reminding me again, Quoll, I'll start that ASAP!

Wow. Hope everything goes as smoothly as these things ever do. Best of luck with the birth. :rose:

Wow, you are so close to having this baby!

YES, I am. The baby has dropped the rest of the way into my birth canal. I can actually see my ribs again!

I've also been having contractions about 30-45 minutes apart TODAY.

We're down to the wire, I think!

Suitcase is packed, so we're ready to go.

I need to look in the thread and see who else said they wanted one. Although I might just pick one of my friends out of the blue.
