Way ahead of you. There have already been quite a few spotlight threads in previous years (each name that has been underlined in the OP is a link to that person's spotlight).

And since Rainshine graciously agreed to be our next victim :D, Pmann took the initiative of starting this next go around. So I do believe the momentum is already well on it's way!

It's not really clear to me either Rainshine. However, it looks like it is either around a week, or a couple of days after the last question was asked one.

Original post quoted with bold on pertinent parts...

i want to borrow an idea from another site i frequent that i thought might be fun to do here.

on a (more or less) weekly basis, we create a thread that spotlights the members of this community.

1. only those who have specifically given their explicit permission to participate in this process. people may do so by posting to this thread so saying. yes, this means that people might edit their posts and revoke their consent: if you do, please post again with that change.

2. after a thread runs its course, the spotlighted HTer selects any person responding yes to this thread and creates the next thread.

edit: when you select someone, please PM him or her & get a response to make sure that person will be available

3. whatever disagreements we may have with forumites, the spotlight thread is not a place for mockery. people may choose to share what they like, with the understanding that such sharing ought not to be ammunition for abuse.

is anybody interested? and yes, the first person responding in the affirmative is the recipient of the first spotlight thread. i'll create it. as a general rule, i think most of us would feel uncomfortable creating a thread spotlighting ourselves... :>

willing participants to date not yet spotlighted: cherrybomb24, fuckmeat, justskye, kokopellirises, littlebabyclit, luna bella, redheadedhaze, tbs230, jen_litgirl.

spotlights already created: quoll, jtohispb, sweeterika, fire_breeze, velvetdarkness, satindesire, mistersir, mac98, silverwhisper, sarojaede, bobsgirl, eilan, typicaldeviant, phaedre, midwestyankee, sadangel, eudaemonia, bailadora, kikori, lizzie borden, nightbird, jkayle.

Not mentioning any names, but someone in the spotlight tried to step out of it. :D

Reviewing the original posting on this topic, I'm not seeing a "sell by date" and wondered if I missed something. Granted that the spotlighted has the right to avoid and or ignore any question that they feel is too personal (if I read that right), would it not be in the spirit for the thread to continue for so long as "serious" questions are being asked?

After all, from what I've seen, it isn't all that uncommon for people to disappear for a while and then reappear and it would be just sad to think that they were disallowed from asking a question of their favorite celebrity lit poster just because they were not available for ... <checks time stamps>... the five days the thread was "going".

:)

so what is your point - really?

edit:
actually no need to reply - please

thread updated!

remember, reply to the thread if you're in, i don't know to update the list of spotlightees or willing participants otherwise! :>

I will pick someone as soon as I get a free moment (i.e.- stop playing with mah cawk)!!!

Maybe today or tomorrow!!!

just bumping to make it easier to find when i need to edit the OP with the new spotlightee.
