The bride is beautiful and they make a handsome couple. All my best wishes for their future.

...

.
I talked with them for a bit, and asked about the reason for the marriage - Cort is keeping her name and all sorts of non traditional stuff like that, and they have been living together for about 3 years. Why the change...

The answer was cool (I paraphrase), ...as a sign to the world of their commitment to their relationship. They didn't want a social convention to cast any doubt on what was already cemented in their minds and hearts. But then, as the day approached, they both found that they liked the step, and even in spite of their best intentions - there was a feeling of "okay, the games are over, this is for real." I think the act of getting married "legally" drove home the ideas of vows, promises, all professed before man and God, and they found themselves even more committed to each other.

I told them about Anne's and my "Give 100% with no accounting..." deal. They liked the idea of it. "Don't keep score..."

They are going to do well...

Thanks Mav, and Spaz - I had a good time up there, but it is good to get home. I like my stuff... :D

Audrey was cute when I finally got in last night... following me around and yippin' and yappin' and yowling... one time she got aholt of my hand and gnawed on it a bit, she didn't break the skin and I could almost hear her, "Gawd Damn you, don't leave me like this again!"

She slept with her head on my shoulder last night - which is sort of cool...

:) $

Poor Poor Audrey...well with you back the house will feel like HOME again

Welcome Home Chief  dam place ain't the same without you

And isn't it fun trying to light a cigarette with your mouth shot full of Novacaine... your lips cave in when you try to draw on it and the cigarette flops all over the place.

Heh, even more fun when you start to remove it from your mouth...it sticks to your lips...and one reacts by tightening his fingers just as he gets to the lit end. ;)

Good Morning everybody!

Ah back in the nest - a bit o Rum for the Joe and French Vanilla to give that Bailey's zip...

Got some more pictures...

The first is my brother Pete and I. My good, good friend Pete. Anne actually tried to sit up in bed when he showed up a couple days before she died. "Pete..." was all she said, with a big smile as she raised to hug him. He stayed with her and held her hand while she slept for an hour or so. When he came out, he said, "I'm going to clean out your garage." And he did. Organized it and everything. And he stayed until it was done. Talking when I needed somebody to talk to. Sitting quietly, or organizing yet another run to the dump with another pickup load of 38 years of clutter.

"My little girl is married." He was having a tough time keeping his shit together. And it was cold - he envied my jeans and jacket.

The next is all the Bucks that were in Michigan that day. Left to right...
My brother's son, Peter; me peaking over his shoulder; my Mom - the Matriarch; that's Karl the rock and roller back there...

Karl is cool - got the Rock Radio DJ persona running about full time after a lifetime in the "Biz". I used to call him Bounty...

"Yo, Bounty", looking at his belly, "nice of you to roll in."

He tossed it off with a snort, and looked me over, stem to stern. Finally, "Where's the rest of ya?"

"Well, I think you both look like shit..." That was Pete - he's the youngest.

Karl and I both snorted. "Whippersnappers, what do they know..."

Let's see, there is the princess - little Cort, and next, the proud and beaming yet somewhat melancholy - my brother Pete.

"My little girl got married..."

Next Pic is me dancing with Cort, cut in on her Dad. They were both looking overloaded - somebody needed to make a joke. I usually am just the man for the job.

Me dancing with my Mom. She taught me to dance like my Dad. She likes to dance with me.

And finally - me playing "Dance With Me Annie" Layne had heard it a couple nights before and asked me to play it at the reception. I brought the house down. Literally. Wasn't a dry eye in the crowd... I need to get that song finished.

Damn, I need another cup...

Oh, we had a blast. Funny how easy it is to get back into the old patter when I am around 'em. My brother's and I hard assing each other good naturedly, and my Mom sitting there just beaming - "Her Boys..."

LMAO - it will be interesting to get them side by side. Hey, after reading all that stuff about the guitar on Harmony Central, it appears that the brass hardware is OEM - you may want to consider getting it re-installed and see if that solves the "no sustain" issue you were mentioning...

Okay..............

The guitar pic you posted. As it an Alvarez? Couldn't make out any brand mark. :(

Beam asked me to say that she loved the family pics, as did I!!!

The family looked so happy, especially the beaming bride. She is beautiful.

Thanks for sharing from both of us.

Cindy couldn't get the thread page to open this morning and she had to run to work and she wanted to check on R, he seems to have a pretty good dose of summer flu.

Y'all have a great day!

You have a great day too Mav! :)

You tell Cindy hey, and I hope R gets a bit more perky... she is going to need a worker bee... :D

Yes, it is an Alvarez - here are a couple better pics for showing that.

It is a beautiful guitar! It says, "Festival". Is that a special edition?

R has been a big help to her. But he always is. A very good son.
