Hi Family,

Saturday morning, been a bit lazy doing my turn at the coffee makin' lately....
got a pot of "Hi-test" made for those who like their's strong.....and another pot of "hazelnut-cream" sorta weak for those that enjoy the flavor more than the bang.

Being that it is Saturday, figure people will be wondering in an out..according to how late y'all partied last night...or if you got big plans for the day want to be "up and at em". It is cool here..only 60 this morning when I got up to watch the sun rise on the back deck...and listen to the birds. Great weather for July having such pleasant mornings. Watched a raccoon scurrying on his way back home across the yard...no doubt after helping himself to my neighbors sweet corn.

Just got off the phone with Blooze. Apparently lots of family from both sides there. Getting to spend some great time with his mother and brothers. and I guess the whole group of them partied hard late into the evening. Only fly in the ointment is that they had planned the wedding for outside..and it is raining this morning. He wanted to send a "howdy" to everyone..and let you know he was doing well and enjoying his weekend. Sounded sleepy when he first called...but after a couple of cups of motel-room-coffee/Baccardi gold he was noticably more perky :D

Thanks El for playing messenger

Days are so busy lately....working..plotting..planning..weeding threw stuff...not complaining mind you~just saying~

Not a good idea Love

Putting your detailed plan in someone else's hands can backfire on you pretty darn quick. *He says from experience*

You'll be on that plane soon enough Love. Then all you have to do is relax and enjoy.

Evening Chief...evening family

Getting ready to tuck myself in.....the assistant manager lost her Mom on Thursday so we have been working extra to cover her shifts...tough on my body...but her life is tougher than mine for sure at this moment..shes one hurting lady and my heart goes out to her...I have walked in her shoes. When both your parents are gone there is a part of you that feeling like an abandoned child..doesn't matter how old you are when it happens....16 or 56...it still feels like that. :(

On a brighter note I talked to my older son in OC tonight...we are looking forward to seeing each other in September :)

In case I'm not the first one up one of you guys start the coffee....please

Hey anybody know when our Chief is do back? I'm looking forward to hearing new stories!!!

Morning Family

Hope everyone is doing alright.

A bit of confusion about tomorrow I have to get worked out, but I should be able to get both teeth done tomorrow and be done with it all. :nana:

Sorta expected to see some posts from Macx when I got home...

Seems as he is stuck at the airport in Oklahoma City in a thunderstorm delay

Probably sitting on the tar-mac with a plane full of very bored and irratable people (and re-reading every ad in the entire "air-shopper" magazine :D )

Boy, I bet he is in a peachy mood

Hey now! Good morning Gang!

The coffee is all a perk and tasting grand! Can you sit a spell?
I got a story or two to tell...

It will take a bit, lots of pictures to fix up, and thoughts to sort - but I will have you know that amongst all that was going was a constant reminder to remember this, or that. Or to get a picture of the other so I can tell my friends about it over coffee the next few days.

It seems everything was part of a constant thread of serendipidous events, from the trip out, the motel and town we stayed in, to the wedding, the kids, and their friends. The new family members (by marriage). It is neat to have them be a part of our history now - it is neat to be a part of theirs.

I would like to say that I came away from this little adventure not quite so distressed about the future. Actually I wasn't distressed about it, but I had written it off as toast. Well, maybe not. If the group of young people that I was a part of this weekend is any indication, we may not be in such dire straights.

But I ramble, and that is not my intent - I will post this and let you know that the house is all a light with the sound of new music, the smell of fresh brewed coffee, and Ms. Audrey has been mollified somewhat and has quit lecturing me on how lonesome she was...

It is good to be home.

Here are a few pictures, I need to be more careful fixing these up.

First, there is the bride. She is small and lithe, a real pistol. She was an All-State point guard in high school. Quick, and it stood her well when an accidental nose dunking caused her to have to flee - poor old Layne didn't stand a chance. I didn't get a picture of it - but my brother did, when I get my pics from him, I will share...

And there is the new family. They took off for Africa - Kenya - on Monday, they are spending 6 weeks there, mostly on their own ticket, to help set up a tree farm, some fast growing tree - the end result is supposed to be a renewable source of cooking fuel. Neat kids...

There is the ole man - the beach below me is where the wedding took place on Saturday. I had a melencholy moment or two wishing Anne could be sharing the scenery with me, and at some time later I seemed to be a peace with the idea that she was...

Great pictures, Macx.

The picture of you reminded me of when I tried to go swimming 75 miles east of there, on the Huron side, one hot day in late July. It was about 95 degrees that day...and kids were having a great time in the surf. The water looked very inviting untill we plunged in and found it was only about 60 degrees. We should have known better when our legs started cramping up while we were wading out.
We were young and "tough" though... I think it took about 5 minutes before we could get ourselves to breathe again

Welcome home Blooze!
Sounds like you had a fine time. Good company and beautiful sights to see.

The bride is beautiful and they make a handsome couple. All my best wishes for their future.

Audrey was a bit of a handful during the morning coffee run. She missed the old man! But she has been practicing her singing, if you can call it that. ;)

Milwaukee is just across the lake from where I am standing - I spent a year near there when I was in the Navy. I stuck a foot in the lake back then, I retracted it immediately, and have found no reason to experiment further with the affects of dramatic temperature loss on one's body...

Thanks Mav, and Spaz - I had a good time up there, but it is good to get home. I like my stuff... :D

Audrey was cute when I finally got in last night... following me around and yippin' and yappin' and yowling... one time she got aholt of my hand and gnawed on it a bit, she didn't break the skin and I could almost hear her, "Gawd Damn you, don't leave me like this again!"

She slept with her head on my shoulder last night - which is sort of cool...
