It is a beautiful guitar! It says, "Festival". Is that a special edition?

R has been a big help to her. But he always is. A very good son.

Alvarez has quite a few "named" guitars. They are not so much special edition, but they are special builds... this one was produced from '82 to '87, and became known as the Ash Festival. It is made out Ash, top, sides and back, and the laminate on the headstock. It had a brass nut, saddle, and bridge pins to help brighten the sound and increase the sustain of the wood so it behaves more like rosewood (the king of guitar tonewoods).

Here is what some of the people who have owned one have to say about it...

The maple guitar I call Norma Jean was a named guitar also, the "Fox Hollow".

I think they do that on purpose...check out the window when I go walking out with drool running down my chin, cause I can't feel my lips, and laugh their ass off
LOL Yeah, it was kinda funny. I was sitting there talking like Jabba the Hut and absent mindedly put my hand on my face and then couldn't figure out what I was touching because I couldn't feel it.

I should have made them do both at the same time and gotten it over with.

Now they tell me all these things I can't do that would bother the spot. No smoking(I don't anyway), no straws(odd that one) or anything else that would cause SUCTION :(

Well atleast I got to PROVE what I always say. "I'm built like a boulder".
The dentist is in there with a pair of pliers and is wrestling with my tooth grunting and prying. He looks at me and says "You got a strong jaw bone there"

LOL - well, if you get a dry socket, you'll think :(

I had one where they had to cut off a hunk of jaw bone, and then cut the tooth in 4 pieces to get it out. It took two of them about 2 hours to do it. All three of us were half wild by the time that was over, and I did get some major drugs out of the deal. They said in retrospect that that one should have been done on an operating table.

Isn't getting older fun...

Thats what they said.

Jeez, you sound even more solidly built than me!!...didn't think that was possible.

All they gave me was penicilin for the infection I managed to get before they took it out.

Now I'm trying to figure out what I can eat since I have such a sensitive spot.

I did learn one thig before they took it out.

If you have a toothache......don't eat potato chips.

My Mom was the one to take me over there to get it done. All she said was "Just try and relax and for goodness sakes try not to kick them in the head!!"

Good Morning everybody!

Ah back in the nest - a bit o Rum for the Joe and French Vanilla to give that Bailey's zip...

Got some more pictures...

The first is my brother Pete and I. My good, good friend Pete. Anne actually tried to sit up in bed when he showed up a couple days before she died. "Pete..." was all she said, with a big smile as she raised to hug him. He stayed with her and held her hand while she slept for an hour or so. When he came out, he said, "I'm going to clean out your garage." And he did. Organized it and everything. And he stayed until it was done. Talking when I needed somebody to talk to. Sitting quietly, or organizing yet another run to the dump with another pickup load of 38 years of clutter.

"My little girl is married." He was having a tough time keeping his shit together. And it was cold - he envied my jeans and jacket.

The next is all the Bucks that were in Michigan that day. Left to right...
My brother's son, Peter; me peaking over his shoulder; my Mom - the Matriarch; that's Karl the rock and roller back there...

Karl is cool - got the Rock Radio DJ persona running about full time after a lifetime in the "Biz". I used to call him Bounty...

"Yo, Bounty", looking at his belly, "nice of you to roll in."

He tossed it off with a snort, and looked me over, stem to stern. Finally, "Where's the rest of ya?"

"Well, I think you both look like shit..." That was Pete - he's the youngest.

Karl and I both snorted. "Whippersnappers, what do they know..."

Let's see, there is the princess - little Cort, and next, the proud and beaming yet somewhat melancholy - my brother Pete.

"My little girl got married..."

Next Pic is me dancing with Cort, cut in on her Dad. They were both looking overloaded - somebody needed to make a joke. I usually am just the man for the job.

Me dancing with my Mom. She taught me to dance like my Dad. She likes to dance with me.

And finally - me playing "Dance With Me Annie" Layne had heard it a couple nights before and asked me to play it at the reception. I brought the house down. Literally. Wasn't a dry eye in the crowd... I need to get that song finished.

Damn, I need another cup...

[:D] $

Absolutely positively LOVED the family pictures Macx.....your Mom...my my she is still a looker with a radiant smile :) Nothing pleases a Mom more than to be surrounded by her children

It's a dam shame that it's wedding and funerals that bring entire families together...but that's the way of the world..families are scattered all over the country and sometimes around the world these days.

You all look so delighted to be hanging with each other. The "little princess"....beams like your Mom does....

"Dance with me Anne"......well if there wasn't a dry eye in the house then I would say "You done good Macx real good"

R is feverish but resting in his bed. My kitchen table is covered with assorted Christmas things, ceramic house, little people,ordaments,santas,....and of course Mr.B ....he needs to investigate everything!!!

Got to go sort and pack....my son from OC his girlfriend is here visiting family and is stopping by this evening....house is so trashed it's not fit for company...but hell she's family so she understands

Thanks again for sharing your family with all of US

LMAO - now that is a great picture!!

And I would dearly loved to have seen your face, at first a bit of confusion (...wtf is that...)

Then it hits you, a realestate sign on your property, (...oh...)

Then you see it, "Sold" - (...OH!!...) and the happy dance starts in the pit of your stomach, and spreads to your face...

Goin' to Kansas City, Kansas City here I come... :nana:

Good morning Gang!

Coffee is on. Get it while it is fresh!

Have a wonderful Thursday!:D

A quick run through...Hiya all... then out the door...thunderstorms to be here all afternoon.

What has happened to all our time...when we used to sit and chat and flirt and try to look down Beams blouse and up Rania's skirt? Now it seems we are all back to running again. If life were busy with exciting things.. it might be different... but it seems as we are back to jobs..and insurance contracts...chores and meetings...and all the other stuff which seem to ask a lot of us but offer no quality to our lives..

It sucks, I tell ya

Argg... coffee...

Mucho big sleep in, even inspite of Audrey's best efforts at being an early morning pain.

I still have one eye half closed...

good morning.

Morning Blooze! And Morning to ya'll too, Vickie and El!

I think a lot of folks have taken the opportunity of the warm weather to spend as much time as they can outside doing stuff. A lot of stuff that isn't even fun, is much better to do when it is warm and dry.
