Fall.

I remember Fall last year. Somehow that sticks out. It was fall.

Maybe it was because the weather finally broke and she couldn't enjoy it. I don't know.

Now all I got is days without her. Nights. Mornings. I don't know what God has in mind for me, leaving me here like this - but he's going to have to tell me. Otherwise, I will just drive my cars and play my guitars in my bedroom until I finally die.

I will stop now... I promised El.

:) :rose:

First of all, excellent performer. I would buy at least one CD from him, probably more. He puts some interesting and beautiful twists to the songs and his voice is rich and full of life.

Thanks for sharing. I had listened to some of his music before.

Second, I have no idea what all you are going through. I have never had to do that. But........

Maybe what he is trying to show you is that every day is special, in and of itself. I have always tried to live my life like that. I am not always successful but the backsliding seldom lasts more than a few hours. I wake up looking forward to the new and exciting things I will experience and relish the ordinary things that make it good to be alive.

Not preaching here, but I feel so much better when I wake up excited about what I am about to experience, with a smile on my face and a song in my heart.

Doesn't do away with bad stuff that may happen but makes it much easier to deal with. I guess I just love life. ;)

:D

I so agree with you, Sis.

Blooze, you can't live the rest of your life cooped up in your house (or your thread, for that matter  )... there's people out there and things to see and activities to take part in and little (or big) dramas that would appreciate a sympathetic ear and sorrow and laughter and death and love and.... in short, there's LIFE. With its good aspects and its bad aspects. Go out and live it, dammit!

Desert Rose

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

I dream of fire
Those dreams are tied to a horse that will never tire
And in the flames
Her shadows play in the shape of a man's desire

This desert rose
Each of her veils, a secret promise
This desert flower
No sweet perfume ever tortured me more than this

And as she turns
This way she moves in the logic of all my dreams
This fire burns
I realize that nothing's as it seems

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

I dream of rain
I lift my gaze to empty skies above
I close my eyes
This rare perfume is the sweet intoxication of her love

I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my hand

Sweet desert rose
Each of her veils, a secret promise
This desert flower
No sweet perfume ever tortured me more than this

Sweet desert rose
This memory of Eden haunts us all
This desert flower
This rare perfume, is the sweet intoxication of the fall

Englishman In New York

I don't drink coffee I take tea my dear
I like my toast done on one side
And you can hear it in my accent when I talk
I'm an Englishman in New York

See me walking down Fifth Avenue
A walking cane here at my side
I take it everywhere I walk
I'm an Englishman in New York

I'm an alien I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
I'm an alien I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York

If, "Manners maketh man" as someone said
Then he's the hero of the day
It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile
Be yourself no matter what they say

I'm an alien I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
I'm an alien I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York

Modesty, propriety can lead to notoriety
You could end up as the only one
Gentleness, sobriety are rare in this society
At night a candle's brighter than the sun

Takes more than combat gear to make a man
Takes more than a license for a gun
Confront your enemies, avoid them when you can
A gentleman will walk but never run

If, "Manners maketh man" as someone said
Then he's the hero of the day
It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile
Be yourself no matter what they say

I'm an alien I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York
I'm an alien I'm a legal alien
I'm an Englishman in New York

I am new to Lit and was just reading your thread.

I am very sorry for your loss and all that you have been through.

Evenign Chief...attempting to unwind after my long day...

R's dad came and got a bunch of furniture today....the house is starting to echo :D

Morning Chief...Morning Family...

Been up for about 10 minutes and my brain is racing a mile a minute

At this rate I'll be burned out by 10am...

Sooooooooooooo taking a deep breath I am going to sit here and attempt to chill for a liitle bit..

It's Sunday morning....quiet time....time to reflex...time to say thank you for my many blessings

Cool morning here....little birdies are singing...the neighborhood is quiet

Divorce papers arrived yesterday...the house closes on Friday....Leaving on the 31st of August...It was my plan to arrive in KC by September...~shaking my head~ I can't believe it's all going to work out...

So much for sitting still and enjoying the quiet ;) ...LOL....my brain is spinning and my body wants to get moving....

I have a lot that I need to do early in the day...My co-workers are throwing me a going away party tonight....while I still will be working part-time the next 2 weeks this is the one Sunday that worked the best for everyone.

It has been an interesting 4 years with this company and working side by side with these woman. When I began I was married....so they have seen many changes along the way....from being married...to the seperation...to dating...to falling in love with My Cowboy. The woman I was when I first started has evolved...come into her own....they has seen it all....

Well coffee is on.... :D

Good Morning troops...

Mercy Little Bit. The ball is a rollin', isn't it. Everything seems to be dropping into place, like watching a complicated machine work, its facinating... click, click, click... just like you planned. Good job and a tip of the hat to you. You are one tough little unit, and I, for one, am proud to know you.

Rainee - Punkin, I think if we was ever to find that the world had flipped on its axis and you and I, we, were to find that we were actually going to co-habitate, that we would have to sort something out about the music. It wouldn't be anything new though. Anne and I had to be democratic about stereo time. Those are interesting poems tho. :)

I have to go to the grocery store today. Ugh. At least the super heated weather has broken somewhat.

I think I will just have me a cup of coffee and listen to the morning.

I was sorting through the Fall catalog for the Continuing Education program here in Tulsa. I don't understand everything I am reading, so it looks like a call is in order. Standing outside the registrar's office... been here before.

Ah... well.

Morning Blooze, my friend. Up and at em again! I had a middle of the night excursion on the puter for about an hour and then went back to bed to sleep until 8:30.

Gonna get some help to clean out the spare bedroom today so I can clean the carpet. Sounds like a fun occupation for a Sunday! ;)

Planning on taking anything in particular at school?

I hope you have a wonderful day.

They are not poems, they are lyrics of songs.... if you click on the titles :D

:rose:
:) I saw that. I clicked on the titles and listened to them. And I laughed as I listened and thought of Anne, when she would have me listen to a song that she had found... I would listen for a bit, then I would ask - "uh, where is the guitar?" Then she would get all huffy and call me narrow minded and stuff like that.

:D :rose:

Something to do with writing I guess. The stuff I saw was more seminar than class which doesn't suffice. I need something that forces the issue - get shaved and showered and be someplace at a certain time. That kind of thing. I'm not excited about it - more resigned to it, like a spoonful of castor oil.

But I got to do it.

I imagine the big ball is starting to gain momentum over in your neck of the woods as well. You two will be glad to stretch out on the couch and relax and say, "There, we did that..."

Looking forward to that? I bet!

Maybe the reality of the class will be better than you imagine. I do hope so. I think you will enjoy learning and finding ways to employ new techniques in your already high quality writing style.

Yeah, my health problem is just a little burp in the process. Slows it down so some of it will be completed after she gets here rather than before. But most is in good shape and ready. Juat need to finish the cleaning that my brother helped me by cleaning this week.

I am looking forward to Beam being here and starting our new life together. :D

I totally agree with both of you

They're right Chief, if you don't get out and see the world you'll never know what is out there, you'll never see the wonders it has, you'll never meet the people who make it what it is.

If all you do is sit in your little world and look at the world as it passes you by and never venture out and enjoy yourself then you become something that nobody should have to become......ME
