Good morning all. Again.

Hey, bearclaws!

That is good. I laid down again after I was up earlier. However, this time when I woke up, I was hungry. Haven't been hungry in the morning for quite a while. (we won't mention that I am sort of having lunch for breakfast) :)

That Corvette and me are not getting along. I really need to put some time in on it I guess. Not only tuning the suspension's behavior, but tuning the big nut behind the wheel. I seldom drive rwd cars with that much power and I am a bit lead footed with it. And it doesn't like that, lead foots get you put into the weeds in short order.

Lots of things need to be recalibrated. I am finding out my levelors, and adjustment knobs are a bit rusty. They don't turn too easy. Re-calibration is becoming a difficult process. After 3 cans of WD-40 and a couple barked knuckles, one get's to wonderin' if it's worth the effort.

I think I will work on some songs today. Give the cars a rest.

And I need go get Audrey some of that Chicken/Turkey Gourmet cat food - she's really disgusted with this fish stuff I got last time. She looks at me like she wishes she was big enough to make me eat that crap, then, by Gawd, I'd understand how disgusting it is.

Wait till I break the news that she is going on a diet. Boy, she's really gonna be pissed then...

I did that too. After the kids were off to school, slipped back between those cool, soft sheets and drifted off. Veery relaxing and ... nice.

Grrrr, I would have went out, turned'm off and threatened non payment !! I hate it when I am on my way to dreamland and for some stupid reason someone decides, this is the time and place to make a lot of noise, party ... time ~!!

Mornin' Blooze,

Sending cuddles and hugs your way ...

Skip the panties...and just wear one of Mav's T's...

Morning all, just poping in for a second to say "HI" to the family, off to town for the remainder of the day, a bit of shopping, going to take a look at the new cars, brunching out at our favorite Greek eating spot with some friends...then maybe something a bit different this evening. The weather has broken, it was 68 this morning when the sun came up, and we have spent too many weekends lately cloistered in this house due to the excessive heat.

Have a great weekend all!

I dind't realize this untill a few minutes ago... Greece is facing a terrible fire situation... the people there could use your prayers and support.

this is a few hours old the death toll has risen markedly.

.

A quick run threw this morning as I head to the shower...I spent some time reading about the fires...I will keep dear Sis and her countrymen in my prayers

What is causing that? Drought conditions? It sounds like Southern California during the Santa Anna's.

Well, CJ came over early and we had a nice visit. (no cake donuts tho... :( ) Things are going so well with Nikki. She is going to her first dance, ever tonight. An end of Summer Dance put on by her new provider (the one CJ busted her hump getting set up) She giggles and turns red. CJ is going over to help her get dressed, and is going with her to the dance. They are having Sister like conversations. It is so neat to listen to.

I wish I could report of new adventures in my new life. I can't. I find myself still mired in the old one. Not wanting to move on really. Like moving on discounts the previous life, dishonors it in some way. I can't explain it, to myself, let alone you, my friends. Weird times, weird times...

I told CJ about the pill faux-pas, she was cool. I thought she'd be on me for not being more constructive with my time than to waste it on a video game. She's of the mind, "Do what you want, you worked your whole life - do what you want now." That is cool. Good kid. Her Mom did a great job with her.

The cars are kind of cool right now because they are not as closely linked to an Us thing as the guitar stuff is. Not that I am quitting on the guitar. Just that playing it tends to put me in a bad place.

Not good, is it? Almost a year now. And I still feel as lost as the day we found out she was dying and that it would be soon. I can't feature a life without her, nor do I want one. What would a life without her be like? It would surely suck. There could be no woman in it, that is for sure. And who do I share the successes with? The plans? The trials? A new life... what a quandry, what a burden... what a pain in the ass.

Well it sounds like we're all set for food now.

I can do Kahlua fudge (Make Beams happy and full of sugar)

or I can do a more comforting food....Potato Soup

although other than that you're outta luck unless you want to see one Hell of a kitchen fire.

Man, the weather has broken finally - very pleasant... easy and comfortable to sleep when the house is like this.

Well, the Nick Unit is coming over for lunch and I need to fire up a set of my special chilli dogs. She is all excited to tell me about the dance she went to last night. I got the scoop from CJ earlier, so I will be able to help Nikki tell me the stories, she has trouble finding words sometimes and it frustrates her. It's going to be fun.

I hope all of you are having yourselves a good Sunday, getting rested to handle tomorrow and its grind.

We have another couple weeks of the "hots". We need a couple more of those cool fronts, even if they do mean thunderstorms. If you see anymore cold fronts come over the front range, hustle 'em on down this way.

Gettin' by Snakey, gettin' by. How are things with you?

How did that go? Did he give you an idea what the hold up was? Did he sound as if he could get a fire lit under them?

I can dig it - if you were ever in a "shit or get off the pot" situation, you're in one now. Time to get a move on.

Ah, it sounds neat... but the curse of my mind and its manufactured visuals, I have to ask. Did you scatter their ashes in the lake and toss the drift wood in after them, or did you pile it all up on the beach? You know, the ashes and the old driftwood, looking like an old camp fire? That could have made for an interesting happen stance down the road...

sorry... - :)

Sundays...family days...
Well Sunday lunch was a bit different. A broken hearted little girl showed up at the house. She went straight to the bathroom and stayed there crying until she was able to get herself gathered.

I need to tell you about the Nick Unit and music. It litteraly grabs her, if the beat is right, she bounces in her seat and claps her hands and sings along if she knows the words. They had a band at the church service and she got all excited and moved up to the front near the band and stood there dancing and clapping to the music until she got tired, then she sat on the floor and continued being a fan of band. That is Nikki - that is the bubble joy she brings to situations.

At the end of the service, the Pastor's wife, a lady plumb full up to her nose with decorum, told Nikki if she did that again they were going to kick her out of the church. And they wanted her to sit at the back of the church from now on.

"I just wanted to praise the Lord, Dad..." she explained to me.

"I know Punkin." I was flabber ghasted. I wanted to get my Bible out and head down to that church and explain to that bunch of clowns that when Jesus delivered the Eight Woes, he was talking to a bunch of self righteous religious assholes just like them. Boy, if you ever wondered how Jesus felt when he lit in the middle of the money changers at the temple, I think I felt it today.

Then Nikki said something that blew my hat off, which was a trick, mostly cause I wasn't wearing one. She said, "I think I understand how come you and Mom quit going to churches..."

We talked and talked. I told her about Decorum, about Rules and Religion and how most churches were like clubs, and if you couldn't work with in the club's rules, then you shouldn't be hangin' out in their club house. She seemed to understand it this time - I'd told her that about a dozen times, whenever she'd ask how come I didn't go to church any more. It seemed to take this time.

That's where we left it, she would decide later after a nap. She wanted to go to the evening service because it was a birthday party for the Pastor and she had a card for him. (way to go kid, heaping fires of coal on their heads...) But maybe she'd start looking for a new church next week.

I explained to her that her coming over to the house every Sunday for lunch was pretty much like a church. And, if she'd like, I could get out my guitar and we could practice singing the praise songs we used to sing at the Churches in Colorado. And we could talk about the Bible, things that confused her. She seems to be paying better attention lately.

She liked the sound of that. We used to practice singing those songs all the time. I found the book with the chords and words the other day. Maybe, rather than go hunting for a church, she would come over to the house and we'd do church here.

So, if you find yourself wanderin' through Skiatook Ok. on a Sunday around lunch time, you might want to stop by. Lunch will be simple fair, chili dogs, or maybe grilled hamburgers, and later there will be some music and sing along, and maybe I will read a scripture and try to explain how it applies to life today. And, if sometime in the middle of it all you feel led to clap your hands and holler "Praise the Lord!", we won't ask you to leave.

I can promise you that.
