The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 09

We're loving today's weather. 66 and sunny. It has melted most of our snow (houses across the street not so much, we are the sunny side).

I've got our bedroom windows open, getting our first fresh air in five months. And the cats are definitely appreciating that we can leave the door to teh screened porch open:false-spring-small.jpg

Of course, we'll have highs in the 20's one day next week. :(

Just finished a WIP. Overall, I'm satisfied, but the ending, while logical, seems off. Perhaps I should let it lie fallow for a while and turn to something else.

A trick I use in situations like this is to proofread the story backwards, scene by scene. It tends to highlight breaks in the flow and plot progression.

We've already dodged one thunderstorm with more on the way. The app on my phone is going off from the nearby lightning strikes. It'll be 70s and windy along with scattered thunderstorms for today with a big cool off tomorrow with highs in the forties. BP was down a bit this morning and I have no idea why it had spiked a little yesterday. Maybe it was something I ate?

There's a fresh pot of coffee brewing and the teapot is hot. There are snacks on the counter and I made some brownies so help yourself. There are carrots for the plot bunnies and soft drinks in the 'fridge.

I'll be over in the corner working on my story. I got a few more words down and need to just write the damn story instead of agonizing over every word and punctuation mark. This is driving me nuts ...

Bet it was the chocolate cheesecake (dressed up with tart cherries in syrup).

Anybody else notice their author control panel has been v...e...r...y s...l...o...w over the past couple of days? Enough-time-to-go-get-another-cup-of-coffee slow.
Mine hasn't been that slow, but you probably have more on yours than I do.

It's much cooler this morning but the rain has moved out so with the sun this afternoon, it should be a nice day. I'm looking forward to pi(e) day so I can post my favorite quote from "Person of Interest."

I've got fresh coffee brewing (remember that the decaf is in the pot with the GREEN rim) and the teapot is boiling away. There are snacks on the counter and there's even some left over carrot cake. Softdrinks and such are in the 'fridge so pull up a chair, sit, and relax.

I'll be over in the corner working on a different story. The one I was working on (thanks for your help @old_prof) was giving me fits so I'm putting it aside for now and going back to work on Ray's latest adventure. Hopefully, I'll get back to it someday when I'm a better writer.

Good luck. Most of the (few) stories I've set aside never get my attention again. I find them when I'm looking through my stories folder for something else. "What's this?", I ask. "Oh that," I answer, and go on. My current WIP is an exception.

As for my WIP, I put it aside for several days and used the time to synopsize the rest of the story. It needed tension and conflict to make the climax a climax. I'll start writing again in a few minutes, but I still need a way to let the readers know things I don't say, and a way to broach some heavy topics in an entertaining way.
