so FF, does that mean you get to pick if no one breaks the tie??

I finished the last book.....yeah :) It took forever to get it but I read it fairly quick.

Yes I would get to decide the tie but I'd rather participants on the thread do it instead.

I read it quickly as well.

The March 2009 BDSM book selection is The Dark Garden by Eden Bradley. Please read along with us!

The discussion of the April BDSM book selection, Shocking Pink edited by Erica Spindler may begin at midnight your time on Saturday, the last day of February 2009!

:rose:

I just got Dark Garden in yesterday. I can't wait to read it!
My hubby is now reading Shocking Pink. He saw it in the bathroom and started reading. He likes mysteries, I figured he's like that one :)

I got mine yesterday too!

My husband rarely reads books these day. It makes me sad.

:rose:

I just realised that we having discussed the February 2009 BDSM book, Shocking Pink by Erica Spindler yet. I guess I've just been really busy.

Did you like the book overall or not?

Yes! It was a compelling read. I zoomed through it and was sad when it was over.

Do you feel it portrays BDSM in a real way, a positive way and/or your way?

Yes,, in a way, but not completely positive. From the beginning the girls are "horrified" by BDSM and I don't really think they would be, normally. Andie never gets over her revulsion even with the professional training she gets. That was sad.

Did you like the sex scenes in the book?

No, but only because of the negative slant given them. Otherwise I could have gotten way into them.

Did you like the rest of the book, the story in it?

Yes.

Would you be interested in reading another book by this author?

Yes.

What did you like best about this selection?

The twists in the story.

What did you like the least?

The negative ideas about BDSM. Also, killers generally CAN'T hide themselves like this. Books that tell these kinds of stories, create fear based on unrealistic portrayals of killers.

How would you have changed the story?

BDSM would have had a more positive light shown on it from at least one characters POV. A character that we could trust.

The evil inside people wouldn't be portrayed as perfectly hidable.

That's all.

:rose:

Well here goes my first opinions.....

Did you like the book overall or not?

Yes! I enjoyed it and gave it to my hubby to read.

Do you feel it portrays BDSM in a real way, a positive way and/or your way?

I don't have loads of experience yet but from what I can tell.... no and for sure not positive. I mean Mr X was partly seeing Andie for "help".....

Did you like the sex scenes in the book?

Overall yes.

Did you like the rest of the book, the story in it?

Yes, very much so.

Would you be interested in reading another book by this author?

Yes.

What did you like best about this selection?
The author kept you guessing. And I liked Andie and the cop (whatever his name was) I mean after all these years she needed to get some finally....lol

What did you like the least?

That the killer turned out to be her best friend and that she never in all the years of knowing her and being a trained professional noticed her problems.
It kind of dragged in the beginning, also.

How would you have changed the story?

I would have to agree with FF and say to put BDSM in a more positive light

I never managed to get ahold of Shocking Pink :( Must make an effort to really search for it here in the UK.

I just downloaded The Dark Garden to my e-reader.

I hope you enjoy this one, for March!

Honestly, I should be horny. I can't tell you the last time I had sex.

I'm sure I will, I've read some Eden Bradley short stories - The Darker Side of Pleasure and I know her, I like her writing style. So should be interesting :)

LOL Oh Furry, if we were closer in distance, and if you were inclined, I'd offer to have sex with you...take the edge off a little ;)

Thanks!

I'm going to try to get some sleep now. If I'm lucky I'll dream of you and me . . .

Well I didn't dream about sex, damn it. I dreamed about taking care of an abandoned baby, again.
