We're baaaaaack. Finally got the puter up and running again

Thank you everyone for keeping this thread alive and running. I hope to catch up with everything soon and post some pics.

We had a great time on our ride with EB, Steve and the rest of the group. That was our first weekend ride on the bike, and we loved it, despite the heat and traffic delays.

I still have to catch up with all the pics everyone has posted, but I will within the next couple of days and post some pics of Gettysburg Bike week and our ride with EB.

We had a great time on our road trip.

Joe, MrsJ, Steve and I and several others battled the heat and the fridiots on the road, but a good time was had by all. I took several pics during the trip and some videos, as well. Way too many to load the thread with so I posted them on webshots. Anyone who cares to peek, here is the link.

Hey EB, thanks for the great pics. For some reason, the pics I took didn't come out. I had to reformat my memory card and its working fine now, but I lost all the pics I took of the trip.

That was our first "weekend" trip with a group and we had a blast. We could not have had a better group of people to ride with.
We won't be able to make Mrtle Beach, but we will be in Ocean City the week of Sept 22-29 if you and Steve get a chance to head that way. We are renting a condo, so we will have extra room.

Stay safe and tell Steve we said hello.

had to rebuild one of the carbs and replace a bad fuel line...and the tank had some serious rust going on. Had him change the oil while he was at it. I was pleased... thought we were going out tonight, but plans changed... i'll just go home and ride for a bit and then shine her up as much as possible... baby needs some cosmetics one of these days too. Ah well, knees in the breeze is the most important ingredient in a wonderful day.

Happy Saturday fellow bikers!!!! I've been promising pics from the rides. I still don't have the ones from Memorial Day weekend in Red River, NM but here are some from last Sunday's fund raiser ride for TESSA (an orginization to help battered and abused women) It was a magnificent ride but HOT!!!!! Enjoy...

Hey Copper. Once again I have to thank you for all the great bumps. Glad to see you're getting to spend alot of time with the wind in your face, especially when its for a good cause.

We rode in a fundraiser for the National Center for Exploited and Missing Children a few weeks ago. They were hoping for 500 bikes and ended up with over 1500 bikes and over 2000 riders and passengers. The local police dept. sent a helicopter up to take pics and help make sure we got started ok and they said the parade was over 4 miles long. The local radio jock that sponsered the ride was in complete shock over the response.

i rode down to the bike races at VIR last weekend, 60,000 wild ass roadrace fans on hand. i have a friend whose been a particial sponsor of a guy for the last 3 years there. he's always had a terrible weekend of bad luck at VIR. this year he broke through and had a second place finish there and frosting on the cake he races a Ducati!

Since MrsJ and I met EB and Steve for the ride, I'll answer that. It was just a weekend ride.
Due to the extreme heat, our stops to smell the roses turned into "put as much fluid's into our bodies as we can stops". But.............
We all still had a great time. This was MrsJ and I's first weekend ride just on the bike. We have made a couple of week long trips with MrsJ driving the cage with all of our gear and supplies, so this was a new experience for us. And we loved every second of it. We couldn't have met a better group of people.
MrsJ and I were discussing going to VIR next year for the races, and that pic just sealed the deal. We both love watching road racing on TV, but we really want to see it live and in person. We will be there next year to see it.

Congrats to your friend and his rider. Maybe next year will be the top of the podium.

Daytona Bike Week, 2008

I figured this thread might start back up after bike week in daytona. did anyone make the trip?

Hey folks - - - - Daytona Bike Week is always the first FULL week in March.

Hence - this year Saturday March 1 is the official start. The 200 miler is on the following Saturday March 8 and marks the end. Racing all week, ogling all week, party time!

The Pirates of the Conch Republic will be heading for the Keys on Sunday.

I live heah, so heah I will be.
