Jobs are always like that but I'm still happier when I have one. There is an unpleasant stress and uncertainty that comes with not having one. It goes away when you have that lovely paycheck safety net down below. There's nothing quite like knowing there is a regular income topping up the bank accounts for a sense of security.

Having a job is always better than not having one, unless you are retired. A roof over one's head and food in the stomach does wonders for the feeling of contentment. A good book is almost as important, almost.

It’s all part of selection CG. We passed ours before The New Year and now we are learning how to assess others. They have to find us by 1500 hours or fail. Then we have to write reports next week. I hate this report writing, I’m an action girl!

Lost one of my kids. He was smart, friendly, and a wonderful person to others. He talked of being a soldier in fifth grade. He joined the marines, had recently gotten married. He died in a parachuting exercise. I am so proud of him and so sad for his family. Twenty-two is just too young.

We heard on the grapevine about an accident in Arizona and assume it’s him. You have every right to be proud of him because he died serving his great nation. He may not have been in NRR but we are all tied together in the defence of the free world. If there is a God I pray he or she will receive him in love.

Yes. I didn't realize it was the same guy at first. Alex is a common name in the areas where I taught. But then I saw his hometown posted and knew.

I never liked the taste of wine or beer. I can't drink something if it can't get past my nose. In college, I liked sweet drinks: sloe gin fizz, tequila sunrise, rum and cola, etc. But it was cheaper to drink soda, so my drinking stage never got off the ground and stopped after a couple of years. I wasn't the type to party although I hung out with some guys in a fraternity. They were a service group and didn't have their own house so the local bar was a hangout sometimes. But none of us had much money so going out wasn't a big thing to do.

Talk about friends! In the Military we’re more than friends - we’re truly sisters. This is a ‘free werkend’ When we’re allowed to go home. Robyn, ‘Supergirl’, is going to spend the weekend helping me get the academic grades for my NRR Badges. If it works it means I can volunteer for NRR immediately after commissioning and go straight for the practical. I’m in awe of these warriors and I want to join them.
