The Inn is quiet now as I pour a Jameson's and settle back into my old leather chair. It is good to see the Inn so busy and filled with convivial conversation and a touch of naughty teasing as well. Once more I am struck by the fact that the Inn takes its life and character from its patrons.

It’s an eventful day for us. We’ve just put a contract on a house. After shopping for what seemed forever we finally found something we both like and is in our price range. After some bickering, offers and counter offers, back and forth last night and into this morning the seller accepted our offer. We should be able to close in 4-6 weeks. Our plans have been to give it about a year to see how our finances are, and if we’re good we’ll go ahead and finally get married, and then try to get me pregnant during the honeymoon.

We’re going to a wedding this evening at 6:00. An excuse for me to get girlied up in a pretty dress, and pretty lacy underpinnings. Michael’s in a bit of a tiff that I insist he wear a suit and tie, but I will need a well dressed escort. I promised I’ll make it worth his while afterward. I’m quite confident I’m going to get to feel much like I’m the bride when we get home, and fantasizing we’re on our honeymoon.

Congratulations. There is something special when you hear the words, "The house is yours." Hope you had a great time at the wedding.


This place has been hopping like crazy lately. Had to go back two pages just to catch up on today. Monsoons are definitely here, house was shaking from all the thunder. Lightning makes it a hassle for the firefighters but at the same time the rain helps. A couple of big bolts, so I hope they didn't start anything new.

The trip was interesting, got rear ended the first day I was there. My sister and I spent hours putting together plans of how to get family members where they needed to be, then at the last minute she changed everything around. SIGH... and her husband had the audacity to complain that there wasn't a plan!!!!

But the aunt was happy to see the large group of people we managed to round up for her birthday, and that was the point of the trip.

Now to deal with insurance and get my hatch door fixed so it opens.

The ceremony is just a blur but I was given one more honour. I've got my first stripe, I've been promoted to Lance Corporal. AND I was presented with Centre Court tickets for Sunday at Wimbledon.

Tonight we have the banquet then on 18th July my work begins. Heard from my Sailor boy, he sent me love and best wishes and wants dates for my next leave.
