The China Pearl Inn---Part Six.

The new CO has arranged for us new NCOs to train with US Forces to learn our skills. Meanwhile we have weapons training this morning, war games this afternoon then Lts HSG & GG take us on a short NCO course 'Introduction to Command'.

Bring back memories CG?

I can't believe you guys are going back to the desert in August as if June wasn't hot enough. You are supposed to go to the desert in the spring when the cactus are in bloom and the temperatures are not that bad. Next you will be going to Alaska in January. ;)

Sending loads of prayers and spirit lifters your way CG...

As the CO said 'the enemy will expect us to wilt in high summer because Western Troops never train in that heat'. Many don't. But we are NRR Ready for anything!

Good whatever time of day it is for you, gentle readers! I have been off and online for the past few days now. Feeling unmotivated to post, but I have been reading your fantastic exploits and I feel honored to share in them. I am glad to hear everyone has been so busy and active. I myself, have not been. I'm on summer holiday, but feeling all rather meh about it. And to be honest, I'd rather just get back to work. But enough about that. I'm headed to the Capitol today, to get a new passport. I do so hate going to the embassy, but it's not a choice when living overseas. At least my hotel has a swimming pool. I do so love those. Hope to talk again soon, my dears. PM's always welcome, especially ones containing juicy details. ;)

Sorry you feel that way LS, hope you're soon up and running.

I have had a call from an author wanting to write a 'faction' story (based on truth but names etc changed) on how BigRick and I met. Need to discuss with top brass but if it is approved I'll let you know.

But LS I promised I'd send you my story. I'll bring it up to date and send it to you in PM in a week or so. And I can promise you it has juicy details

Right, WEAPONS TRAINING!

I'll get over these summer sighs soon enough. But your words of encouragement make me smile, all the same.

Take your time with your writing and I will eagerly devour it when it is finished.

Be safe with training. I shouldn't say this, but weapons terrify me.

Somebody besides you guys must be training out there. In California there are 19 military bases in the Mojave Desert alone. There are a bunch in the Nevada desert, Arizona desert and New Mexico. If there was any land, the military pretty much created a base on it. Even where I live, I see jets from Luke AFB which is about a hundred miles away in the Arizona desert. They fly all over Arizona leaving their trails in the sky. California not only has training bases in the deserts but also the mountains and along the coast. You can train for any type of geography in CA. :)

One of the fun things that we did as kids was do the three hour drive. My mom would start at the ocean, then we went through the mountains to see the snow, then out to the desert and back to the ocean again. Of course, back then gas was cheap. ;)

Yes it does Robyn memories of taking such courses and others of giving them. ;)

In your desert training I always felt like a pack mule not because of the gear I carried but the water necessary to operate in that kind of theater.

I want to encourage you because you have become a very welcome visitor to the inn and I for one value your friendship.

Yes there are several bases out there and we will link with one of them. We're going in August because our deployment will be to an area which although very hot is not as quite as hot as Death Valley so it will feel cool lol

CG water is the important thing along with salt tablets. We will only have a fortnight but it will be a strain on our chicks.

Ok time for lunch then battle games followed by NCO training. I'm a busy girl! All this while my husband is sleeping lol!

Ah the rigors of command G G and Hubby blissfully sleeping. a cheeky grin bows my lips.

Well as they say eat up saddle up.;)

Those are some hard conditions to get used to. I live pretty close to several military facilities myself. The citadel is a few hours away. There is one or two more that I can't recall the name of off the top of my head.

F D The Citadel I know is the home of the 22nd Guards of the Canadian Armed Forces a very distinguished unit that served in the world conflicts starting in WW I.

Yeah I am in the nw tip of South Carolina. The Citidel is in Charleston, which I am sure you already knew lol. I think it is fort brag? Or benning. That is in Georgia. I have family who used to work there. Did construction work.

Hi everyone, first full day back and it feels we never left. New junior NCOs very keen to learn so tomorrow we're putting them in charge of a small 'incident' to see how they cope. No further details, you know why CG.

Yes quite HSG, certain things must by their very nature be "Hush, Hush." ;)

Things are a bit slow here today and a bit pensive. I am working to get back into a regular routine as I have a major lecture on the West Coast that will be about a month long but hopefully I will have internet this time as it is a longer program.

Nice of you to say so HSG, but as you know training be they lectures or field practices or a combination of both are based on what the Unit need. And I am sure your unit does not need the basics I deal with ;)

I would still like to hear you one day. Btw GG, ER, RTY, Me and several of our boys and girls who read from the sidelines have decided to make you an Honorary Lion. Welcome to NRRF CG

Thank you and G G, ER, and RTY as well as your guys and gals for the honor. I would love for you guys to be among my students HSG.;)

I forgot the overwhelming orgasmic joy I experience every time I write one of those bloody reports. Weapons training went fine. Battle games better. Junior NCO training encouraging. But now HSG and I have to

WRITE THOSE BLOODY REPORTS!

Yes! Yes! YES I'M CUMING!

smile at G G double meaning quote.

Cuming so publicly G G ?

Paper work and endless reports the bane of service which makes a duty. ;)

Hi all. Everyone seems to be quite busy with exciting activities. Makes things here sound rather dull in comparison. We’re just waiting on things to happen on getting into a house. Appraisal, home inspection, title search, etc., etc, etc. Seems like an endless list.

I’m sure all of you NRR folks are looking forward to another two weeks in the deserts of California. Hope all the new patches and stripes haven’t added too much weight to RTY’s and ER’s uniforms.

Best to all. Our little dog is sitting here with her squeaky ball ready for some play time.

luv2bfkd I know how frustrating all the hoops you have to jump through to purchase a house but in the end it is well worth it when that house becomes a home luv2bfkd.

Hot and humid and someone's snoring. SHUT UP!

Luv2bfkd I wish you well with your house purchase, obviously CG has been through it. Something I don't have to worry about until I'm 30 at the earliest.

CG will tell you we Forces people do not have that worry. I've got a home, clothing, food, health cover and a comradery non military folk can never understand (right CG?).

Strict Jews don't have dogs as pets because they consider them to be 'dirty animals' and although we aren't orthodox my Dad never wanted me to have a dog. Even at age 8 I worked on him and worked on him and I used to smuggle my friend's dog into the home. Of course I got caught but my Mum talked him round. Later we went to the dogs home and took a puppy. We used to play 'fetch' and go for long walks and when my Mum died Spock comforted me.

CG, I hope you know you're one of us now. Whatever your problem we close ranks with you.

Snoring stopped, it's 0050 hours here and we're up at 0530 for our 5 mile run.

Goodnight CPI
