The China Pearl Inn---Part Six.

Yeah welcome back SF, we've missed you. Missing CG too.

Had a great day at Wimbledon, once in a lifetime. The final was a little one sided but the mixed doubles were good. Step mum and I have got closer and we are going for a girlie trip to the shops tomorrow.

Then home to the news the new Doctor Who is a woman. She'll sort the Daleks!

Very convenient for the hackers lol. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of needing a password? Lol

Welcome back SF glad you were able to get things sorted out.

Thanks. It was a surprise to me to find that anyone that gets on my computer can have access to all sorts of things I didn't know they could get to. Although the only thing I would be concerned about is my banking and that password doesn't get saved. Still, it makes me want to go look at other people's computers just to see what they have listed. LOL

We have a very special technique for handling passwords. We have to change them every week when at base and daily when on ops.

I am an old lady. Actually, I am a lazy old lady. I hate having to type in user name and password every time I log into a site. I would go insane if I had to change my password every week. I hated it when the school district would make us change every quarter. It drives me nuts that the computer asks for a password just to get to the desktop. I am not totally stupid though. My passwords have nothing to do with any of my basic information. Which is why I couldn't remember this one. LOL

Let's see. What is going on around here? The monsoon season has finally started. Usually it rains for about an hour or less with some thunder and lightning. One day it rained really hard and we had thunder, lightning and hail. I didn't even know it could hail in 85 degree weather. Stuff was much bigger than what we get in winter storms, about the size of marbles.

I was rear ended when I was in California, so I have to take the car in to get the back door fixed. I drive a mini van and the door won't open. Luckily she wasn't going that fast so there wasn't a lot of damage. I should have taken it in last week but it always takes me a week to get my brain working after being with family for a few days. All that noise wears me down. Which is why it also took me all week to figure out my problem here. LOL

Other than that, nothing much happening here. I know the marines have gone off to where ever and the army girls are finishing up their leaves. Glad is looking for work. CG did a class over the weekend. I once read a book about the American Colonial militia trying to get the British army to understand that marching through the woods in bright red coats made them targets. It was an interesting book and I always used it when teaching about the wars during colonial times. Everyone else seems to be busy doing their usual stuff. So I am glad I could at least read what was happening. :)

It is good to be back.

First you're not old, age is just a number. You're mature and maturity brings wisdom. I'll be forever grateful for your advice in my recent life events.

Second, you would make a good soldier so we are adopting you as an honorary member of our group.

Doctor Ross is back in Boston but gets back to base soon either here or the States. If it's the States it will mean we will be going there too. But when on duty we have a totally professional relationship.

We have a new CO for our cohort, an American Officer who has served on Delta Force. He called me apologising for interrupting my leave. He went on to introduce himself. He can speak seven languages and I'm sure we will work well with him. GG & HSG meet with him tomorrow afternoon then the rest of us in the evening.

Today I'm seeing my extra stripe on my uniform and pack ready for our return. It's always difficult after a good leave and mine, as you know, was extra special

Ok, off to watch Game of Thrones :cattail:

Ps CG seems to be MIA. Missing you Chief!

Rose not MIA but rather just getting back from a weekend lecture in the field. All went well and the students seem to be very receptive.

S F could to see you back dear.

I see you are fighting the battle of the Password

Hang in there I am sure you will win it in the end.

Well I am an idiot. It never occurred to me to use a different email. I would have had to create one of those. I have had the same email for 25+ years.

I did, however, have a brain spurt today. This whole problem started when I logged in and my password wasn't showing. I couldn't remember it since I hadn't had to put it in since 2002. I tried the couple of passwords I always use and none of them worked. I clicked on the link that you are supposed to use to get a password and never heard back from that. I tried the Contact Us button and never heard back. I tried writing to Laurel and never heard back. I created a new name which was finally approved this morning. However, I remembered that somewhere in the computer there was a place called passwords so I went there to see if it was listed. Strangely enough, there were sites in there from two years ago when I got the computer and even the new name but not anything for Sharingfantasies. But there was an old site with a password I haven't used for years. So I tried that and voila, I am back!!!

Now I have two accounts. LOL

Thank you guys for caring about me. Thanks to GG for posting messages for me and thanks to FD for the offer for help. Even though I could read all your posts and keep up with you, I missed not being able to say anything.

So hugs all around. Thank you

Welcome back!! Glad you found your password :D

Hi there! How was your lecture?

I'll bet Robyn ;)

Glad to here things are going a bit better for you at home.

The lecture went well and seemed to be well received. It was interesting to see young troopers with out automatic weapons, and reduced to 18th century muzzle loading muskets. It dose however make them think about small unit tactics in a whole new way, and how to dominate a position or objective.

Shiva I am back in one piece and all went well. We had varying conditions from heavy rain to bright clear skies.

I did not realize there was a practical aspect to your lecture, very cool sounds actually fairly fascinating.

Very much so Glad. I doubt it would be as effective if it was just an illustrated oral presentation.;)

I see the girls were keeping you quite busy.;)

Haha, moreso my writing partners than here, but I did try to hold down the fort here for you.

I just did 3 posts. I opened lit to find 3 posts waiting for me, after a slow day yesterday a welcome flood to fill my day.

I started actually planning a book. well batting around the idea of writing one that is, just which storyline in my head to try to develop into a novel is the difficult question. I didn't think my writing was good enough to try to ever get published, but someone recently told me that my poor spelling and grammar was less of an issue than I thought if I got a decent editor. Since I'm currently unemployed anyway it might be worth a thought or two.

Go for it Glad.

I trust all is well with you G G. I suspect you have guessed I am back to my wee cottage in my White Mountains. I am slowly catching up on the posts I owe to my talented cowriters. It amazes me how patient they are until I can get caught up.

Yes, I had some that waited upwards of a month for me during my rougher patches.

a couple posts this morning were surprises very welcome ones :)

Finding sweet naughty posts waiting for you can always brighten your day I now it does mine.

What delightful torture working to catch up with these sensually seductive posts. :D

I think it will tomorrow before I am caught up Glad.

I return to my real world home in North London after a girly day with my step mum. I'm armed with clothes that will be useful in civvy street on my next leave. I go to my room and at nearly midnight 30 go to the Lit world and the inn

Thank you to all my friends at the inn for supporting all of us during our leave. I've checked my train times for tomorrow and have a taxi booked for 0415 hours to take me to the station.

Hope to see you tomorrow. I salute CG

Back at base in mufti and had a repeat of an experience I had a few couple of years back. Two of the troops started 'chatting me up' so I played along by telling them I was a married woman. One replied that it was ok and my husband need not know. I then told them my husband is a US Marine and they shouldn't mess with him. After another minute of banter a voice from the guardroom shouted out 'Welcome back Lieutenant ****'. The two lads turned bright red and sprung to attention. I just smiled and moved on.

Meet the new CO this afternoon.

Morning Robyn, Morning G G glad to here you are both back safe and sound and have survived your leave. I am sure both of you have memories that will keep you warm on a cold winter's evening.;)

I return Robyn's salute and then give her a cheeky little kiss and hug. A nd one for G G as well

We had some savvier thunder storms late yesterday and I lost the internet so I am a wee bit behind in catching up the post I owe to some very charming young ladies.

After an incredible few weeks leave we're all back at base as a unit to meet the new CO. GG & HSG are meeting him for a working lunch and then discussion. The rest of us meet him this evening.

However I understand he has managed to get recognition of the work we women put in. In military circles members of NRR are referred to as 'Lions'. The CO has got top brass to call female operatives 'Lionesses'. So if in future you hear of NATO Lionesses its US!

Ran into RTY proudly wearing her first stripe and her well earned badges. Watch this space, in a few years with her it'll be 'Yes Ma'm! No Ma'm! Three bags full Ma'm!' A future CO? Very likely which is why we're all so proud of her.

CG, I'll get back to our thread over the next couple of days.
