The Clarks again.......

*hangs head in shame*

I had a major crush on Skid Row. Not any one band member in particular. Any of them would have done. It was the long hair bad boy persona. It's OK. I'm over it...I think. ;)

Oh yeah!

My friends will really like you when they find that out!

You would like this club...It's called Annies. Very up close and "rock n roll"....lot's of leather, spandex and big hair(well used to be more hair but there is still some)

Windswept is fine....we've got hairspray...of course that would be a given eh?

"She's got the big guns...."

As for the hair ... well I do go for the bad boy image, and love a man with long hair ... Just a fight then who does the Kinkiy things with their hair in the bedroom *wink wink*.

I'm on my way ... If I don't make it can I come next time you go??? :D

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

SS...please say it ain't so! Please say your not over the "long haired bad boy persona".....

I need all the reasons in the world not to cut mine....

... in my humble opinion dear Timmy .. please do NOT cut your hair .. that is my two cents ..

and ummmm if you take Nicole backstage to visit with Motley Crue .. Nikki and Nikki Sixx would make a great couple .. just a couple of Nikkis hanging round ..

I have heard over the police scanner that they just had two major problems and one is the folks at the show won't let the buses out to leave and there about to have a riot.....This is what the folks around here were so concerned about.

This is why I decided to take the wife and kids and stay home today.....we can sit and hear all the police cars going by....

Everything you ever wanted to know about The Clarks.....and more.....

Here ya go, Thumper...

From clarksonline:

Drums, bass, two guitars, vocals: That’s the foundation of rock ‘n’ roll’s time-honored formula. But the best bands are smart enough to know that real rock ‘n’ roll, while respecting tradition, isn’t created from a formula.

Bands like The Clarks understand that truly honest rock ‘n’ roll is made without pretense; that you don’t need an attitude or a manufactured, airbrushed persona if you’ve got talent, energy, heart, soul. Great chops. Great songs.

With their first Razor & Tie release, Let It Go, The Clarks are once again pledging their allegiance to what’s been characterized in their press clips as American rock ‘n’ roll. They’ve had Pittsburghers convinced for years; fans throughout the Midwest and East Coast also have become believers. It’s not every day a regional band can perform original tunes in front of thousands of people – and the entire audience can sing the words to every song. It’s a common occurrence for The Clarks, whose self-released catalog has sold in excess of 93,000 units.

Even Playboy magazine’s music editors have anointed the band as one to watch, taking notice of the Clarks’ string of regional hits (“Help Me Out,” “Penny on the Floor,’ “Cigarette,” “Mercury,” “Brand New,” “Caroline”) and solid track record of sellout shows. In addition to headlining three major SFX amphitheater festivals with audiences of up to 18,000, The Clarks once played WXDX’s X-Fest, sandwiched between Scott Wieland and Green Day.

No less a rock authority than rock historian/critic Dave Marsh recently proclaimed of the band, “They’ve got first-rate songs, they play together the way only bands who’ve truly lived with each other’s chops can, they can sing, and as far as I can tell, at the end of the story, they get the girl. What more do you want?”

Lead singer Scott Blasey jokes that The Clarks’ career is based on songs about girls and beer, but that’s like saying Pearl Jam is just a grunge band or that John Mellencamp’s songs are all about farms and pink houses. In each case, there’s far more involved. Those artists resonate with listeners because they convey human experience in simple, yet eloquent terms – and because they fuse their words to indelible melodies with killer hooks.

The Clarks don’t bludgeon listeners with heavy sociopolitical commentary or hard-to-digest message songs. Their references tend to be more subtle, as in the title track, “Let It Go,” with its allusions to Radiohead and Shawn Colvin, or “Born Too Late,” in which a series of historical figures are name-checked not just because of their importance but because of the impact they had on a writer who wishes he could have shared their moments in time. And yeah, the songs about girls and beer are here, too, but even in the case of “Chasin’ Girls,” there’s much more behind the lyrics than thoughts of a carefree good time.

Their shows might include covers of Prince or Marvin Gaye or Beatles tunes; Blasey says he likes to blast expectations of what kind of music the Clarks can play. Petty, the Replacements and Elvis Costello also have been mentioned as reference points; drummer Minarik calls Whiskeytown “the most awesome band that ever walked the Earth” and Blasey says he’s finally realized how much he loves Al Green.

Blasey, James, Joseph and Minarik started out playing covers at parties while attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Moving to Pittsburgh after graduation, the quartet cracked the bar scene right away and began building a strong fan base. A full-time band for seven years, The Clarks have made five independent albums including a well-received live album (“I’ll Tell You What Man …,” “The Clarks,” “Love Gone Sour, Suspicion and Bad Debt,” “Someday Maybe” and “The Clarks Live”). Clarks songs also have been heard in the films “Boys” (with Winona Ryder) and “Just Write” (featuring Jeremy Pivens and Sherilyn Fenn).

Blasey and James say the live album really helped confirm their belief in the band’s collective accomplishments; until hearing it, they hadn’t accepted the fact that they really do sound as good as their fans have been saying all along.

The Clarks' confidence has grown, but it remains unaccompanied by arrogance – and no matter how many fans can sing their lyrics, that won’t change. And Let It Go showcases their talents in spades.

Rock ‘n’ roll without pretense. The way it’s supposed to be.
*********************************************************

Btw, Thumper (and anyone else that's interested), I've got a handful of Clarks' songs ripped and converted to MP3. Anyone whose email can handle a 3-5MB attachment lemme know and I'll be happy to send some out. If there's enough response I might even build a little page that people could download from....

Oh yeah...

Whoa Lasher dude!

That was a rather roundabout wway of saying..
"Dude these guys rock!" LOL
