here is a downpayment in cupcakes... Kerion gets first dibs.

Rejected for being ridiculous but not quite funny... Story of my life.

All it needs is maybe silly-walk stair-commuting while having an argument over cheese with a dead parrot singing the Spam song before... wait... it's, it's... the Spanish Inquisition!!!

OMG Keroin!!!! How have you been? Awesome that you popped around, you've been missed! :)

Hi Seela!!! I love being missed--especially when people throw pies. :)

I am good, busy, happy, stressed, etc, etc. But generally good. Somehow, through a complete accident of fate, Hubs and I ended up in paradise. We're renting an amazing oceanfront home on an island off the east coast of Vancouver Island. We've been here less than a year but I have feeling we're putting down serious roots.

Still wake up every day and have to pinch myself. So there's that.

How are YOU??

Oh and Kerion! I know you from your posts...but I doubt you recognize me... nonetheless it is lovely to see you. I hope you are well.
I'll share my haul of cupcakes. :rose:

I totally recognize you. Or, at least, your avatar. :) I am very well ( see above), thank you. And thanks, also for the gift of cupcakes (which is always the best possible gift).

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU!!?!!!?

MEEEEEE!!!!!

Heh.

Found myself wondering how everyone was doing (and if there was still anyone here that I know) and so I poked my head in. Head poking, it's what I do. :D

You're doing that pie thing all wrong. When people are throwing pies, you stay put and open your mouth! Especially if it's a cherry pie.

You're putting down serious roots? Hard to believe, but I'm happy for you. :)

I'm good, too. I don't think much has changed for me. Work, cooking, reading, languages, flower sniffing, crazy dreams, MacGyver (the new one sucks!), the usual. :)

I am sooooo flattered you recognize my AV Keroin... and you are totally living in paradise... I LOVE Vancouver Island. (see my Gallery thread if you haven't already...lol) Sounds like you are happy. I hope so. :rose:

This house was built in the late 1800s, predating modern building codes. The stairs are annoyingly steep, irregular for half of the trip down stairs to the laundry room, and both the basement and the ground floor flight have their first step *inside* a door frame, so that anyone under 5'6" is in danger of hitting their head on the way down, while taller people like myself are also in serious danger of giving themselves a cuncussion on the way up until you've learned to do this sort of standing crunch right at the beginning.

Silly walking enough?

Definitely.

Yeah it's a pain, but I'm jealous. I love old houses. In addition to interesting architecture, solid construction and ghosts, I feel like making improvements to an old house is really worthwhile - as if you're taking part in a love-project spanning generations of owners.

Do you have interesting and outdated features, like victrola-repair sheds and cellar mead-chilling pools?

You have a knack for living in amazing places and doing creative shit you love while eating cupcakes, and I hate you for it. Hate, hate, hate.

You really are an inspiration, and are seriously missed, K.

Come back and we will PM you pies and cupcakes.

That's a pretty good to-do list right there.

Thanks for the heart-bump. I hope you are well and enjoying the amazingness that is a Northwest summer. :rose:

Thank you - and I forgive you all your many sewing barbs and knit wit.

;)

Hehe, mmm a nickname related to tying knots, I like the sound of that

This is really good information to know, boundcake.

<snip>...Cant get a couch up those stairs... so... its been hard to figure out a good way to use that space.

Not being able to get a queen size bed upstairs has meant that the little one gets the master bedroom while the wife and I wound up taking the mother-in-law bedroom on the mainfloor.

I tried to PM you but can't. I have a few suggestions for both those issues, if you're interested.:cattail:
