The reduced 5 person christmas celebration with the family is cancelled, too.
Fireworks prohibited.
I've lost 7 pounds of weight - unfortunately not fat, but mostly water - as it seems I was able to food poison me.

2020 is really ramping up the difficulty level at the end.

Our whole province is being locked down starting Dec 26 for a month in the southern part and 2 weeks in the north. Number of cases keep increasing and people in the current locked down areas (the largest cities in the province) can't stop travelling outside of their city to non-locked down areas to do their Xmas shopping, so the whole province is going on lock down, so nothing but essential services will be open for everyone. Anything else allowed to be open is curbside pick up or delivery. Thanks idiots.

I didn't get why we were treating liquor stores as essential here, until a friend in public health pointed out that it would mean making heavy drinkers go cold turkey en masse at a time when the hospital system really doesn't need the extra workload. Abrupt alcohol withdrawal can be very dangerous, especially unsupervised.

I'm alone for Christmas this year. I talked with my family for a few hours today and they took me to look at Christmas lights with them (face call, point the camera towards the lights). It was good but I'm still so sad and angry and lonely. And it's all mixed up with the fact that this is the first Christmas since my Grammy died (back in June). We don't spend Christmas with her - it's just parentals, sister, and me for Xmas - but I miss her. I almost asked my dad if she'd called and then caught myself. I'm sure he's feeling the loss but I don't know how to talk about it or if he'd even want to. A big ole hug is the way my family deals with feelings and...well.

This feels like such a small thing next to all the losses and stresses people are dealing with this year, but god fuck COVID19.

Same here and definitely not an experience I desire to have repeated.

I guess even without test the Corona infection of my sister and her husband can be confirmed due to the reported loss of taste.

My parents have both tested positive.

We had no Thanksgiving.

My dad is an ER nurse.

My mom has several complicating factors.

I am tired. And worried. I'm fighting bitterness.

Thinking of you and your parents PLP. I'm so sorry they have been having such a rough time. Grateful they both seem to be coming out the other side.

Isolation and all the anxiety related to this pandemic is seriously detrimental. I wish I had a magic wand to fix all of it. Instead I've never felt aa helpless in my helping profession as I do these days.

Taking as many precautions as possible while still remaining employed yet we both have become statisics here in covid central.

We're fine with mild symptoms in spite of both being in the high risk category.

I've started my quarantine activity list:

1. Take Tylenol
2. Drink lots of fluids - fuck! no margaritas for awhile!
3. Sleep. NOT lying flat per some expert advice.
4. Get up and move hourly.

Stay safe and well, my friends.

Some of you know we both have COVID. We’ve both spent some time in the hospitals, came home Friday and are doing okay but recovery will take weeks yet. It’s slow going at our age.

We have been so careful about contact with others but even so, it’s hard to know where we picked it up. Most likely it was a careless, thoughtless person that came in contact with J as he showed symptoms first then me just a day later.

We have been overwhelmed with good wishes and thoughts sent to us and it’s impossible to get back to everyone since this is an exhausting disease in very many ways. This is a blanket thank you to all of you for right now and we will try to touch base with individuals as we can.

Please stay safe within your families and do everything you can to avoid this scary crap. COVID infection is unlike anything I’ve ever dealt with and we have been told we probably will have long term issues from it. Who knows when or if we will return to work at this point.

Please don’t let your guard down it’s still a long way from being safe out there.

We just went into a snap lockdown for the week in my city. Just came out of a three day lockdown two weeks back that dealt to a mini outbreak. Unfortunately, one family who was a close contact two weeks back, did not isolate, did not follow direction from authorities and two of the six went to work, one at a fast food joint, the other at a large retail outlet. They have started what looks like potential wide infection. Not cool.
