The Halloween 2024 Official Contest Support Thread!

I don't know if i've ever felt more exposed then right now. Because that is exactly what i've been doing for the past half hour lmao.
LOL that's funny that's exactly what I've been doing standing at the front room window looking out onto the street. Oh! a couple of Police Officers are knocking. I wonder what they want :ROFLMAO:

It's now up to 209 stories - I wonder if there are still some that haven't been published yet? Some writers are really into Halloween, too - I didn't realise how many multiple entries there were until I sorted by author name. Just how many spooky parties can you get to in one night, anyway? The max seems to be eight. :)

(This is just a straight copy of the web page into Excel and then a sort by column B, then pasted here as a graphic because it exceeds the character count. Doing it like this gives you a spreadsheet with links to each story, where you could theoretically work through each story, record your scores and so on if you didn't have a day job)
(Edited to make the graphic slightly readable)
Crazy. This is actually one of my least favorite holidays/themes. Still managed an entry but only tangentially Halloweeny

Jere’s a minor distraction. Maybe.

The band is Little Feat.
They also did a song called Fat Man in the Bathtub. You may or may not be ready for that one.🎃

219 now. 10 were published around 15 hours ago. I assumed that was the last batch, but you never know....

That's great. Halloween lends itself to erotica so well, it's no wonder the contest is so popular. Whether it's horny werewolves, mom getting gang-banged at the costume party or a sexy haunted house, there's something for everyone.

Mine was a monster girl brothel, and they note that Halloween is a busy time since people go get scared, which leads to arousal. Note: I learned this by interviewing someone who actually does that kind of work.

I mean, are you telling me you didn’t? Shame. I had to go back fifteen, sixteen times to get the details
Every time I went, they'd say something like "We've just closed for the day, " or "All the girls were napping," or "Eww, not if you were the richest guy in the multiverse," or normal, everyday stuff like that. The one time I tried to go and they called the cops on themselves I thought it was a little strange, but who can really tell?

Wrong forum for wife/gf sharing.
Beg pardon. She wasn’t really my g/f. She’s a bot or an AI that responded to a post I made on
X (fka Twitter)
About 75% of my girlfriends have onlyfans pages.
They”re pretty sure they love me in an hour or so.
I like to see how long it takes for them to need me to send $$$.
I’ll keep it to myself from now on.

And 2 more in the latest tranche, making 221 in total. For an 'Every Night Is Halloween' approach through the year, readers may want to slow down and savour some of the longer ones over several nights, fine wine by their sides. @Nellymcboatface , I'm looking at you and your 58,000 words :)

Most excellent suggestion, señor.

A ditty for your consideration: If wishes were fishes, we’d all have a fry.
If horseturds were biscuits
We”d eat ‘til we die
If the ocean was whiskey
And I was a duck
I’d dive to the bottom
And never come up
(alternate ending: And just get fucked up. Read the room)

Not quite. SUBMISSIONS CLOSED yesterday. I don’t know when the voting closes, but it is still going.
Hope voting is still ongoing . . . I'm a little shy. No, not like that, I meant I'm a little under 25. God, there I go again... under 25... I don't even remember 25. Anyway, hopefully can pick up those few last votes and then I can say I'm in. Already, in a vain attempt to get ahead of the curve, I'm working on my winter holidays entry (or whatever they call that contest). Not sure when that deadline is, but hopefully I have a few weeks left.

I watched an interesting Netflix movie called Miller’s Girl. It was about a very talentet student
enrolled in a HS creative writing class. The theme has been sanitized somewhat for mainstream media,
but there is some very eloquent dialogue contained therein. Well worth a watch IMO.

From what I can tell the category is dominated by badly portrayed succubus stories, vampires, and less subtle horror than ghosts, and I think the readers lean more towards the H than the E in the category title. I had two long ones that did very well when I posted them in 2014/2016 and both were violent and gory.
It's a wonder that the Succubus Union doesn't act decisively against authors who portray them badly.

In other news, I came here to mention for the other trainspotters that the number of total stories appears to have maxxed at 221 for the last two days, with nothing new in the tranche of Lit stories just published.

Yep, that's it for new entries, but don't forget to add the eight audio stories as well. 🙂

There's a popular mantra "write what you know"
The opposite is "Don't write what you don't know" Few follow that one, and its frustrating because we live in an age where a few minutes on google or wiki and you can learn enough to get by. Here its "Ohhhh, its a sex demon" seems to be enough.

I'm a horror and occult snob. Sue me
