HOLY SHIT!

My prescription glasses just arrived. I put them on to read text on my laptop screen and there was an obvious difference. But then I took them off and, wow, my eyes were REALLY bad, lol.

How did I write and read for so long with everything so blurry???

I must be a masochist.

Glasses look great, Keroin! I'm always astonished at how much better I see in glasses versus anything else. Contacts don't correct my astigmatism (and that's not bad enough for torics yet) so I only see relatively well in Glasses. Even then, I have visual snow so it's never perfectly sharp...I"m sure you're feeling a LOT better being able to see well

Thanks BB! I like to think of my hair as karma realized. Back in my school days when it was all 'feathered hair' and then 'big hair' and then 'spiral perms' (??!!) my hair was a 100lb weakling that constantly got sand kicked in its face. Then, suddenly, straight, flat hair was in again! *Cue angelic music* All those years of curling irons, hairspray and bad perms were over!!

So, yes, I now like my hair too.

I have the opposite problem to both of you...I was born with natural curly 80s hair I still haven't quite figured out how to tame it into something that doesn't frizz for more than a couple hours...

Mine didn't turn curly until pre-menopause!
Always had thick, wavy hair, but it never held a curl. Go figure!

She was giving me the silent treatment for no reason. Ignoring me completely, while I'm overseas, for no reason. Suddenly, too - we communicated all the time the first few months I was here.

It turns out my reaction to the silent treatment is to get weirdly obsessive and eventually cross a line. It got a reaction, she contacted me. And, rightly, told me I fucked up. (But I also think she did, by suddenly cutting me off like that...I find that very cruel, especially while I'm over here.)

She left the door open for later, but I won't contact her until she contacts me. I'm just trying to breathe and move on.

Hugs, Etoile. That bites. I went through a bad time with my bestie after my first big move out of the country. Our friendship never did recover. Some people don't do well with distance. But I bet this experience will open the door on a whole host of other friendships for you - that's the wonderful thing about growth.
