Due to recent events, I decided to suck it up and put a personals ad online. In it I pointed out that yes, I do judge men by their bookshelves. Kind of as a filter, you might say.

About half the men who've responded have complained that I won't think they're smart enough [because of their bookshelves]. But the winner? "I only read Stephen King, does that count?"

*headdesk*

(Nothing against Stephen King... I'm just used to bookshelves full of books about anthropogonyi philosophy, history, architecture and NYT essays. Sigh.)

Also, I had my picture taken today with an actual Robby the Robot from the movie The Forbidden Planet. Robby is a bit over six feet tall, by the way.

Why aren't ALL tissues made with lotion? My poor nose.

They make some with this sort of cooling lotion on them. They don't help more than normal-lotion tissues, but they're kinda neat

Tried to play that language game. Was only able to high score about 350...I had a few choice combinations of languages I was entirely unfamiliar with even the names of and that really threw me :/

You can't use tissues with lotion to clean your eyeglasses. They just smear and smear and smear....
