The Isolated Blurt Thread XXXVII: You're Welcome, Fuckers

11:00 pm and I'm already drowsy. I hate going to bed this early. This time of night is peaceful and I love to read or surf YouTube. It's my me time

Trying something for a batch of goetta; pork and beans. Seems like everything should get along well. The trick will be getting the fat content right so that it doesn’t fall apart when I grill it.

oh my word, i just had a moment of supreme clarity! (shut it, minions)

watching a silly, baltic made movie there was a sequence involving a maze... both from within it and in a 'pac-man' overview. I've always enjoyed the overview of a maze puzzle on a page and loved to solve the kind where you need to trace from entrance to exit without taking your pen off the page. It wasn't that difficult and weirdly satisfying.

now i've always had a poor sense of direction—spin me around a couple of times and i'm fucked; make several turns in a car and i couldn't tell you which way we came from.
Mazes have always filled me with a distinct sense of unease; while others visit them with delight, i'll only enter one with reluctance. The high, opaque walls, the lack of features, the twists and turnbacks? ugh

It's not unusual in my dreams to find myself not in an actual maze but trying to get (back?) to a place and it's a mixed up concoction of so many different places I know that it's confusing, a little anxiety-driven. .

so, putting it all together, i now realise that it's my damned lack of directional sense that has me so leery of mazes. Guess it's pretty basic and obvious, but since i've not even thought about physical mazes in decades and decades, the understanding took me by surprise.

/silly personal story

I looked up goetta, looks gross. What do you spice it with?
