The Isolated Politics Blurt Thread I: A New Beginning

just another republican clown who doesn't think the rules apply to him, leading to the Visitors Center reporting him to the House Sergeant at Arms

McCormick went past a sign that read “no person permitted above this platform under any circumstances” and over a security railing, according to the email.

The GOP representative then went to the "Tholos" level of the Capitol dome, where he straddled a railing and — over 200 feet in the air — proceeded to pretend he was sliding and falling. He also grabbed a crossbar to do pull ups while members of his staff filmed.
a spokesperson for him said "There was a miscommunication and we have apologized.”

ffs. was he tested for drugs? what if he'd fallen from that height? his behaviour is despicable and, though he should be tossed out on his ear, he'll likely get a whole lot of claps on the back for his stunts.

Brevard County School Board (Florida) keeps student's rights to access two books opposed by moms for liberty

At the core of the dispute were challenges to two widely read novels, “The Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini and “Slaughterhouse-Five” by Kurt Vonnegut. Moms for Liberty, a group that gained quick notoriety with its stringent opposition to what it perceives as the “woke indoctrination” of students, called for these books to be banned, citing content concerns.

The recent meeting, however, underscored a potential shift in the dynamics surrounding Moms for Liberty’s influence. Notably, only a solitary supporter of the group attended, dramatically outnumbered by those who arrived to defend the freedom to read and maintain the novels in the curriculum.

The discussion at the meeting turned incisive, with opponents drawing parallels between the books’ narratives, particularly “The Kite Runner’s” account of the Taliban’s oppressive regime, and the burgeoning parental rights groups seeking to constrict educational content. Others accused Moms for Liberty of attempting to impose “their ideology on all children.”

CBS shuts down trump's bid to get his mug and ugliness onscreen for a superbowl presidential interview

With Biden deciding against the interview, former U.S. president Donald Trump reportedly reached out, agreeing to give an interview to the network. However, CBS Sports' boss shut that down.
CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus said that the network has no interest in doing an interview with anyone other than the sitting president. He made it clear that they will not be doing a political broadcast.

"We're producing a football pregame show, not a political show," McManus said.
