The Isolated Politics Blurt Thread I: A New Beginning

Trump Brings Back 2016 Campaign Manager Known for 'Letting Trump Be Trump'

Corey Lewandowski, the controversial campaign chief who helped deliver Donald Trump to the White House in 2016, has returned to former president's campaign as it works to regain its footing following the surprise swap of Joe Biden for Kamala Harris atop the Democratic ticket.

Lewandowski, who had remained an informal Trump advisor for the past eight years, is now going to advise the campaign's senior leadership, as first reported by Politico.

The campaign is also adding other Trump veterans to their ranks as part of the shake-up. Tim Murtaugh, who was the communications director for his campaign in 2020, will be joining the team. Alex Pfeiffer and Alex Bruesewitz, who were top officials for an outside super PAC, are also coming aboard.

Corey Lewandowski? Does that mean his girlfriend Kristi Noem will join the campaign too, or do their spouses object?

MAGA candidate prevails in Minnesota Republican primary race for senator. Super homophobe, proud anti-Semite. transphobe and especially misogynistic. Senator Tammy Klobuchar's reelection is essentially a lock now.

‘Women Have Become Too Mouthy’: Royce White Wins GOP Senate Primary Despite History Of Controversial Comments

I personally enjoy the fact that every single news outlet has to qualify his name "White, who is Black".
Amy Klobuchar. Sen Tammy Baldwin serves in Wisconsin.

Jaysus...two errors in two days. :cautious: I'm more shook up by the loss of the ammosexual safe space than I thought! ;)

Edited to add: okay, confession time. I routinely mangle Klobuchar's name so often that I spent extra time making sure I had it exactly right, to avoid being JaFOed. And what do I do? Get her first name wrong. 😖

I'd like to see either President Joe Biden award Jordan Chiles with a special bronze medal in place of the one she had unfairly stripped from her by judges who are loathe to own up to their mistakes and an arbitration team who compounded the wrong-doing

just embarrassing for him

Donnie has acted like a petulant 4-year old in the way he pretends to always win and wails “I didn’t lose, you cheated!”

But now his petulant 4-year old act has expanded to include the increasingly bizarre stories he makes up and pretends are true.

His devolution will be complete if he throws a temper tantrum and cries at the debate. It could happen.

In a letter to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Gen. CQ Brown, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lawmakers asked the defense leaders to reaffirm that U.S. law prohibits forces from being used for civilian law enforcement and that they should not carry out unlawful orders.

The letter, written by Democratic Reps. Elissa Slotkin of Michigan and Mikie Sherrill of New Jersey, mirrors questions posed in the run-up to the 2020 election when Trump was already suggesting that he might not accept the results of the election if he lost.

They point to Project 2025, the ultraconservative blueprint for the next Republican White House, in underscoring fears that the military will be used to actively police the southern border. The nearly 1,000-page document includes startling proposals such as firing large swaths of the federal government workforce and disassembling longstanding agencies, including the Justice Department.

“In 2020, when the former President and others disrupted the peaceful transfer of power, principled military leaders made it clear they would not help that effort and took an important stand for democracy,” Slotkin said. “Now, prominent leaders are once again declaring that if given a chance, they will use the military for their own political ends.”

Austin hasn't spoken much about the issue, but told reporters during a July 2021 press conference at the Pentagon, that “it’s really important to me that this department remain apolitical.” He said he would do everything in his power to ensure that the military did not become “part of the political apparatus.”

A legitimate case could be made for DoD patrols along the border for 'National Defense'.

female boxer Imane Khelif posts instagram look and another, where she's dressed in a more feminine way.
her point is not that she is being forced to dress 'more womanly' because of her detractors but that what she's wearing depends on what she's doing and clothes do not define who a person is:

In the caption, which has been translated from Arabic to English, Beauty Code noted that while Khelif was “changing her appearance” in the video, the boxer was not defined by her looks. She also “did not seek to change her form to fit the molds that the world wants to confine us to.”

“Her message is much deeper: clothes do not make a monk, and appearance does not reveal the essence of a person,” the caption read. “She can be feminine and elegant when she wants, but on the ring, she does not need makeup or high heels. She only needs strategy, strength, and to throw blows, which is where the essence of her personality lies.”

I don't have a talent for writing satire. I have only a title suggestion: The Heroic Tales of Dick Chainy in the Gorgeous Bush.

Dr. Salvador Plasencia is accused of supplying Perry with 20 vials of ketamine for $55,000. He has pleaded not guilty. Plasencia allegedly called Perry a "moron" in a text message.

"If the text message is true, while it certainly is insensitive, it's definitely not criminal," Plasencia's attorney Stefan Sack tells Inside Edition.

HisArpy? Haha! I kid!
But, no, seriously! HisArpy???

Proudly serving SC’s 1st District!
My 💩💩💩 representative, yall!

The very first time I saw Nancy Mace was in a debate against incumbent congressman (D) Joe Cunningham, a capable representative who, unfortunately, cared more for constituents than the camera.

Skip to the minute mark of this short clip:

Every instance that he questioned a stance she had she immediately twisted into him attacking her personally. It’s her reflexive fallback still.
