The Lounge's Summer Pool Party

He jerks just a little bit as water splashes up at his face and chest, but then nodding toward Zy before he gives her a playful wink.

As if I could ignore a gorgeous creature like you, Zy. But I'll do my best to pretend. Grinning as he continues to sit and let his feet dip in the pool, leaving Zy to enjoy her antics for now.

Keeps a wary eye on Zy while enjoying a quiet moment with Noon.

"I'm debating doing Camp Nano again from Wednesday but I need to pick a project for it and that's proving...difficult. We'll see. It feels odd to think I might not be doing it so I might use the time for editing stuff instead of trying to write something new." She sighs quietly. "I still have a day or two to decide so I don't need to make my decision now."

"And what about your summer? Anything fun planned? Full of plenty of relaxation I hope! I know too well how hard you work."

 

[Noon_Shadow]

Shakes his head lightly. I have nothing big planned, really. I might get out to the beach at some point, but want to take a few friends and make a weekend out of it. And I might head to Canada to visit my sister at some point. But there's nothing significant in the offing.

He strokes Brit's back softly with his arm as he holds her close again him, kicking his feet idly in the water and brushing his foot up against Brit's. He nods and closes his eyes for a moment, feeling the sun burning down against his eyelids.

"A beach trip sounds lovely as does a trip to Canada. Hope you manage to do everything you want to."

His fingers feel warm and soothing against her back and the water is deliciously cool against the heat of the day.

"This is nice." She whispers, enjoying the calm. Only the sound of the waves lapping the decking and the occasional roar of the sea crashing on the beach further around the cove can be heard.

"I was thinking, as it's 4th July next week, maybe we should have a barbeque or something here. Some balloons and fireworks. What do you think?"

He smiles and Brit and nods thoughtfully. Well, Canada Day is also coming this Wednesday. so perhaps something starting then and going through the weekend for most of the Western Hemisphere people.

He grins as he turns to kiss her cheek softly. I should be around a bit.

"Oh yay! I hadn't thought of Canada Day. That settles it. A week of fun with plenty of good food and drink and, hopefully, plenty of good company to enjoy it with too."

A giggle and a return kiss for his cheek.

"I do love planning stuff like this. I can start looking for decorations and recipes and stuff..."

She smiles a little shyly as she pauses.

"I also tend to get a little carried away with very little effort. I'll calm down."

"Thanks, Zy, but I think I should probably head to bed. It's getting late here."

A hug is given to Noon before she gets up and adjusts her sarong.

"Have a lovely day everyone and I'll hope to see you all again soon!"

A smile and a wave and Brit heads off in search of a bed.

"I wouldn't mind something to eat." Says Orca and gives Zy a peck on the cheek. "Whatever your having, will be fine. Then you and I can go for a walk on the beach. And this is for you. I picked it myself." Orca smiles.

Appears looking prepared for a day at the beach. A pretty large bag, stuffed with a towel and some reading material, her suntan lotion poking out of a pocket, is looped over one arm. She has a rather large, white sun hat on and a black and white striped dress.

She watches the exchange between Orca and Zy with a slight frown. After putting her bag down on a lounger she moves to the bar to get herself a long glass of orange juice and pulls up a fruit basket from beneath the bar.

"Orca? Can I offer some advice?"

"If you're hungry, get yourself some food. There's fruit and a fridge back here, make yourself a sandwich." Her tone is friendly but firm.

"If you're looking to make friends? Try talking to people a little and, please, cheer up some. People tend to come here to unwind and have fun - give it a try yourself." She winks. "You never know, you might like it."

Orca looks up at Brit "Your right, I need to cheer up. I accept you advice." He says with a smile on his face. Still clutching the rose bud, "But I do like a challenge." And with that Orca tossed the rose bud over in the corner Zy went to hide in. "Now, about that fruit and fridge."

"I can't speak for Zy but, I'm not entirely sure she's trying to be challenging. If the only interaction you've had has taken place here then I can understand her backing off from your...offers.

"I know it might look like you can just hug and touch whomever and however you want when you're here, I get how it could look that way given some of the things that happen, but what you might not be aware of is that a lot of the people that visit here have known each other for years or at least have a connection to each other beyond this place. You need to make the effort to get to know people first. I think you do anyway but that's just me."

Brit shrugs and takes a long swig from her juice.

"Anyway, the fridge is over there," she motions with her head towards the other end of the bar, "help yourself. I'm going to go enjoy the sun for a little while and try to figure out some words." A smile and a nod and then she heads for her lounger and makes herself comfortable.

Hey Brit, why don't I start over here. And with a little old fashioned truth. Once again, my name is Rod. In fact call me Rod, not the stupid username I picked out here a Lit. That's the name my Mom and Dad gave my. I like it much better.

I'm 55 years old, and a leap year baby. So you guys can do the math and figure out my birthday. I live in Alabama, and I am semi- retired. My family was in the energy business for over 40 years. I drive a Lexus ISF, and I drive it way too fast sometimes.

To Zy, I've always been playful, probably to a fault. But I'm harmless.

And I have a real swimming pool at my house. And would love the thought that one day you guys might trust me enough in your inner circle that we could all sit around my pool and enjoy a nice conversation.

I have just started to learn about writing. And will take all the constructive criticism that anyone is willing to give me.

And with that, I'm going to go back over to a lounger, and sit down there, smile and enjoy the day!
