The Lounge's Summer Pool Party

waves at Zy

Hey there! Why don't you join us here at the bar- we were talking about movies before things took a serious turn. How did you find Blair Witch? I love the idea, but I felt the movie lacked a certain something. I didn't really find it scary at all, if I'm honest.

smiles happily

Can I fix you something to drink? I seem to have landed myself in bar tending this evening.

Uhhhh.... looks around at the crowd and shakes her head

I'm fine, thank you though and I doubt my knowledge of movies will contribute to the conversation at all... it may even hinder it...

goes back into hiding, putting on her headphones and losing herself in a book

raises her eyebrows, narrows her lips a little and makes a resigned face

Headphones and a book. Guess you're not feeling too social, then.

realises she's talking to herself, so instead walks over to the steps leading down to the sea with a bottle of apple flavoured vodka and dangles her feet over the side, admiring the sunset in all its shades of oranges and pinks

As she finishes off the last of the vodka Jez slips off her barstool and collapses onto the floor. After a few moments she begins to snore loudly, her legs twitching as though she's dreaming of chasing rabbits through a field.

Peeks in and then yawns, stretching out before heading over to the bar and start digging around, trying to figure out what kind of cocktail he's interested in this evening.

A silvery peal of laughter rings out from the corner where the lounge chairs are laid out, and a curly girl hugging a towel around herself can be seen, covering her mouth ineffectually with one hand, cheeks flushing a bit at her own outburst.

Remaining true to her nationality, she begins with an apology, trying to choke back her giggles.

"I - I'm sorry, this is just - the strangest party, sometimes! And I've been to some parties..."

She waves to Light Ice with a grin, and addresses herself to the twitching body on the floor near the bar.

"There are some of us who happen to deliberately enjoy our guilt and our shame...regrets - meh, not so much. Two out of three isn't bad, though."

She closes her notebook around one finger and glances sheepishly over at prettyserpentine.

"I suppose I'm being a bit anti-social, too. It's just - gah, if I don't start getting posts up, I'm going to get spanked...in the face..."

Lips twitch in amusement and she shakes her head in disbelief as the girl on the floor emits another loud snore. "And isn't it so embarrassing, when someone comes to a party dressed the same as you?"

She looks up just in time to see Noon Shadow drop in.

"All the wild beasts congregate at the watering hole! Watch your step there, Noon."

Heh oh don't be silly now Alice. No one would spank you in the face... on the bottom maybe:rolleyes:

Just teasing...

*slips closer to give my sweet friend a hug* Hello there, sugar-roo.

*Turning to the bar and waving shyly...* Good Evening, Noon.

Blinking innocently as she returns the squeeze.

"Well, I might like to be spanked in the face...just once, or - four times..."

She grins and settles back with her notebook resignedly.

"But that kind of distracting thought is exactly how I get so far behind on these things!"

He smiles as he mixes himself a martini, finding the toothpicks and olives to drop one into his glass before he peeks back over the bat at Alice, grinning. Oh, yes. Well, why do you think I'm AT the bar anyway, sweetling?

He smiles at her playfully and sips his drink before strolls over her to her playfully, leaning down to give her a kiss on the cheek and a quick hug.

Well, if you're good, then maybe I can promise to spank you in the face anyway. And the bottom, and the chest as well. But only if you promise to be a very bad girl.

Winks and then grabs a seat. I hope you enjoyed your weekend, though!

She smiles and returns the hug and the kiss, peeking at her notebook again while muttering defiantly, "I promise nothing!"

Flashing him another grin.

"My weekend was - ugh - busy! But not all bad. Progress made, with the little guy - though we're not quite ready to lay wall-to-wall carpeting, just yet. He's got a stubborn streak about him, he's not fond of being told what to do - really, I can't imagine who he gets that from!"

She leans back into the lounge chair. "And you? Happy 4th of July and all that business?"

He smiles sweetly and nods. Yes, it was a lovely day yesterday. And fortunately, the neighbors here weren't too obnoxious with the fireworks, so there weren't any loud noises echoing into the night to keep me from sleeping.

He stretches his legs out, peeking at her notebook before taking a sip of his martini. Well, I wouldn't know anything about the process, but hopefully he learns manners. I'm sure his mother will eventually work some good sense into him. Hopefully he'll inherit some of that from her as well.

He winks at her.

She smiles brightly. "I was sneezing all over the place today - something new is blooming, I guess - and he grinned up at me and yelled: 'Scuse-me-bless-you!' - so the manners are coming along, even if he is just parroting me. And he's already SO smart -"

She catches herself with another brief flush, remembering where she is. "Anyway! Don't get me started, because you'll never shut me up. I'll put everyone to sleep faster than Jezebel's Bloody Marys..."

Frowning worriedly at the girl in the coat. "Someone should probably turn her onto her side, eh?"

*Stares off into the distance*

Once or four times...

*Makes a low sustained purring sound, before blinking quickly and clearing my throat.*

Yes well... very distracting indeed.

*applauds softly* Congrats on the potty training win!

Bites her smirking lips. "By two, I'm usually regretting it...but I guess that's the risk we take, in wanting things. And thank you! I don't know that I'd call it a 'win' - not yet, but - it's a start!"

She makes a slight face. "Urg! I hate to be a little lounge chair hermit, but I really do have to write. I don't even want to look at the dates of my last posts - I know it was a long time ago."

Pulling the towel up over her head. "Please forgive me. I just wanted to pop up and say hi to some familiar faces."

With a little sigh, she flips open her notebook again, chewing her lower lip as she reads back over what she's written, so far.

Smiles and slips over to kiss Alice's cheek again before sliding fingers up to give her hair a playful toussel. Beautiful, no need to apologize. And I understand the desire to say hello to a familiar lovely face.

Winks and pats her leg softly before sliding back into his own seat and relaxing.

Drifts in, looking a little vacant. A blue and white striped sundress, to match her eyes, the brightest thing about her.

"Morning, all," she smiles at those present, ducking behind the bar and starting to bring a large coffee machine to life, "someone - " a yawn stops her, "someone needs to explain to my children that night time is for sleeping. Ever so tired."

*Manages to turn up around the same time as Brit, glad for happy coincidences.*

Hey everyone. Just over 12 hours 'til I'm wheels up on this whole continent to jump the Pacific. I should be packing, but I'm just so excited and reluctant to leave my wonderful Literotica friends behind.

What's cold? *Looks to the bar.*

Awww morning, lovely. *waving from a few feet away, knowing how dangerous it can sometimes be to get between someone and their coffee.*

Did the minis give you a rough night?

wakes up to the crowd and she shuffles out to the bar

What's cold? My heart! HA! giggles at her own joke as she hops onto a bar stool farthest from all

A generous glug of cream is poured into the mug of coffee she's poured herself, cradling the cup in her palms she pads around the bar and curls up in a comfy looking...chair?

"The miniest witch had a rough night which means so did Mummy," Brit smiles a little wearily before sipping the coffee with an audible sigh of relief, "but it's nothing I'm not used to. And how's everyone here today, tonight...whatever time it is?"

"Are you packed at all yet?" A grin is aimed at Shark.

Not remotely, but I have started, which puts me well ahead of my usual schedule for trips and packing. Sorry to hear the little ones kept you awake.

*opens a Coke Zero and procrastinates like a champion. Turns to Zy.*

Glad to see you joining us, howsoever cursorally.

I'm trying....though I feel more comfortable over there

points

I thought you went to...umm...that place you were going to go to..

"You sound like you approach trips like I do," Brit grins, sipping a little more of her coffee. "I'm always a last minute kinda girl when it comes to stuff like that. I always have my tickets and stuff but clothes...yeah, they kinda get shoved into the case in the minutes before I leave."

She giggles, rocking slightly to start the basket seat swaying gently.

nods at Brit
I hear ya, I do that too and end up forgetting things so now, I just pack the basics and buy new clothes at my destination...makes things easier..

Yep, having just moved out of one place actually streamlines my packing process considerably. Everything's already gathered together, it's just a matter of storing it...

One checked bag and one carry-on is a tight fit for 2 weeks though. Hopefully I won't need that much.
