The Lounge's Summer Pool Party

*Holds up my newly made drink in cheers and takes a sip, nibbling on the strawberry after*

A good day indeed!

*turns my attention to Serps*
Thank you for this, really lovely.

Hmm, where do I begin?! Well, I can say for one thing, I haven't worn make up fully in years. Just kind of got tired of it. But it looks good on other ladies.
I joined here for the RP, honestly. There are some really good ones out there.
Gah! Not sure what to say without sounding dry and boring, haha.

*Eventually notices Angel and Royce's antics and smirks*

*hears the lovely lilt of ps' voice and peeks back in*

Aye, have noticed you've been missing. I hope all is well with you and can't wait to hear how wedding plans are coming one of these days... Hint, hint! :)

*waves to Midnight* enjoy... Just watch out for the silver tongued devils that frequent the place...

*sticks her tongue out at RJ* they're full of ice water, RJ... To cool you down when you get out of hand...

Lube?!? *snorts at the thought of what Brit would do if she found the pool area trashed with that much lube*

blows her heavenly friend a kiss

Oh the wedding planning is coming along slowly but surely... I'm not being very conventional about it. My mother is slowly getting used to the fact that my wedding dress won't be traditional... (I'm thinking a deep rose colour, or something like coffee and cream- so many ideas!)

turns her attention to Midnight again

There are some fantastic writers on the boards, at least there were before I got overwhelmed with real life. I haven't written in ages, I only do the occasional Challenge thread that Brit throws up. I write with my fiancé actually, haven't written on the SRP page since we got together, pretty much! But I read now and then. There are certain writers I follow, and then ones I avoid like the plague. You'll get like that yourself, too.

smirks and takes a drink

So what part of the world are you from? I'm from Ireland (the northern part- although I tend to leave that out most times).

Oh you can have all the fun you want, RJ... Just can't twist my rated G devices into the rated R+ by your devilish hands...

*gathers her squirt guns and heads home with a promise to keep clear of the pool when RJ is playing*

Enjoy the rest of your day ya'll... :cattail:

I see, I see. Well a little writing is something no matter what! Yes, there are some writers that I see pop up a lot and I like them. I haven't seen any that I haven't disliked .. yet. Haha.

Congrats on you and your fiance btw! (Even if I am way late) :rose:

*my mouth drops open*
NO WAY! I just moved back to the USA from the United Kingdom. I was in Northern Ireland. I'm now back in Arizona for college. Long story short - I'm an American girl who moves a lot.

*has a big grin on her face and takes a drink and looks at her surroundings*

She comes in, arms laden with boxes and a determined, yet bright and cheery look on her face. She sets the boxes on the floor by the bar and gets to work. First on the agenda is stringing up the bunting, emblazoned with bright 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRITWITCH' greetings in muted pinks, golds and peach colours, they hang over the bar and around the sides of the pool. Next are the balloons, that take her an age to blow up with the helium tanks. She ties bunches of three to the end of the bar, every corner of the pool, the occasional table and the decking.

...girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes...

Next, after a good rummage in the boxes, there's the clinking of glasses. What looks like dozens of champagne flutes, all pulled out and set on a long table that's decorated for the birthday of the wonderful witch.

Then there's a fruit basket, these boxes are amazing! Set up at one end of the table... The opposite end has the opposite of healthy things. It takes her a good while behind the bar mixing and concocting, until the other end of the birthday table is a brightly coloured array of naughty drinks... Cocktails, Jell-O shots, all manner of birthday misbehavings.

...snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes...silver white winters that melt into spring...

Still singing to herself, she sneaks behind the bar, where she stashed the piece de resistance earlier, making sure not to drop it as she carries it to the middle of the table, pride of place.

...these are a few of my favourite things...

Standing with her hands on her hips, looking around at the fruits of her labours, she smiles contentedly, still humming to herself, before disappearing again to find something suitable to wear.

Mac enters and is stunned at the amount of work prettyserpentine has done.
Britwitch is one lucky lady, hope she gets to enjoy it all.

Stretching lightly as my barefeet pad quicky along the wooden deck, a tiny yawn escaping my mouth as I mumble "Stupid jetlag..."

My eyes light up instantly a wide grin spreading across my face as I round the corner nearest the bar and take in the lavish yet tasteful decorations.

"You've done well on your own here, Serps!!! The place looks wonderful!"

My fingers reach out to gently pluck at balloon strings, before rising higher to trail over the peachy pink bunting.

"I think ... no, I know that Brit will love it."

"Oh my goodness," the words are softly spoken and the speaker stands in shocked awe for a few moments before walking onto the decking.

"This is...I didn't think..." blue eyes brighten for a second or two, twinkling with what could well be the happy kind of tears, "this is lovely!"

"Thank you, so very much, dear Serps! And to those who've wished me birthday greetings. I've had a very busy weekend but one that was extremely wonderful and full of things that were very special to me."

"I'm a very lucky witch indeed."

Appearing from behind the bar, dressed casually in a flowery dress and wearing a few sprigs of flowers in her hair, she wanders out, also barefoot and kisses her lovely friend on the cheek

Well, I figured, Brit always does lovely things like this for us all, so she gets extra special treatment on her birthday. It's great to see you back again, I've missed you.

Taking the Duchess' hand, she leads her over to the cocktail table...

...I wonder can I persuade you to join me in some bad behaviour....?

As she speaks, she notices the beloved witch and hops over to give her a tight hug and a kiss

The most wonderfullest of birthdays to you, darling. I hope you had a great day.

"It's always nice to know you've been missed! And you're not alone in that sentiment either, believe me!" Brit smiles, returning the hug and kiss before plucking a glass of the bubbly and taking a sip, "I've missed all of you and Lit too, very much. Hopefully my hectic times are behind me and I can stop by more often."

Hopping up onto a stool, her own sky blue dress fluttering around her knees as she does so, she leans back on the bar, "How've you been?"

Crazy busy with work, but I'm making the most of my weekend off. Gardening, cooking, laundry, you know the drill...

She takes a cherry from the fruit basket and nibbles on it.

How have your last couple of weeks been? I take it you had... visitors?

raises her eyebrows tentatively

At the mention of a visitor Brit groan melodramatically and takes a long drink from the fluted glass.

"Yes. The evil mother-in-law..." she shudders and sighs, "she's still here, although not for much longer, only a couple of days to go before we're free, but yes, her visits are never very," she pauses, chewing her lip, "what's the word I'm looking for, they're never especially calm."

"There's a lot of stress and, in my case in particular, a lot of tongue biting to prevent scenes."

Blue eyes look out to the ocean, always a calming influence upon her.

"Just a couple more days though. Then I get my home back and my privacy back and everything will go back to normal."

Oh, I'm sure you'll miss her when she goes back...

giggles and winks and grabs a glass of bubbly, clinking it against Brit's

To birthdays and the imminent departure of the in-laws!

"I'll drink to that!" A giggle and a grin and the delicate chink of glass against glass. "Cheers!"

Good eeeeeevening, all.

sashays out, a salacious grin plastered on ruby red lips, lips a few shades darker than the red dress she's wearing, but a few shades lighter than the glass of red wine she holds in her hand

Hey hey folks and folkettes... I hope we are all still in a party mood?

bites her lip and looks around, it might be evident she's a liiiiiittke bit on the tipsy side...

*Chuckles softly from his seat at the bar, watching her entry. He raises his crystal flask in salute.*

Hello Mz. Serpentine. The party never stops, or so I've heard.

makes a little excited squealing noise and sidles up at the next bar stool

Hello you!

nudges him with her shoulder and winks, before glancing at the crystal flask

What have you got in there? waggles her glass of wine I'll tell you what I've got if you tell me what you've got...

Oh, this?

*He holds up the flask to the fading sunlight. Little fluorescent translucent jellyfish float about in the clear fluid.*

Just a bit of Davy Jones' light rum. Always cold with a little kick.

turns around on the stool and leans back against the bar, her elbows resting on the bar as she arches her back a little

Looks weird. The last time I had rum I ended up 'sans' dress at Halloween, on the side of a motorway at about 2 o'clock in the morning.

nods, her eyes wide and her mouth curved in a grin, a giggle bubbling up behind the smile

Honestly.

It's an acquired taste.

*He laughs along with her infectious giggle, trying to get a mental image of the scene.*

What was the rest of your costume?

arches her eyebrows, grimacing in embarrassment at the memory

I went as the Bride of Frankenstein. All I had was the dress.

tries to hide her red cheeks behind her red wine

And tennis shoes. Damn. I made the dress myself too. Out of a duvet. It was a nice dress. Pity it ended up in a ditch.

Not even neck bolts? Kudos on making it yourself, sorry to hear it didn't survive the night. Hmm...I'll bet passersby were intrigued by your lack of attire. Beehive hairdo and tennis shoes would be quite a sight.

*He grins at the ruddy hue her cheeks take on, sipping casually from his flask*

I'm still plotting my costume for this year.

What are your ideas?

she tilts her head and glances at him

I haven't even thought of it yet. I'm not sure if I'm even off.
