Rant incoming: Okay, so I was recently booted from my world of warcraft guild along with a few of my very good friends. The reasons stated were varied and it's rather unclear as to the ACTUAL cause, but there were a few common ones that I'd like to address:

One reason was that I was apparently "flirting inappropriately" with some of the married guild members.

So, apparently a few of the guild members took it 100% serious when I told them things like "I think your voice is so cute. You and I should have babies, then we'd have the cutest-voiced babies in the world!"

Okay, so, if you are stupid enough to take that seriously, here's what that means. I don't know your name, where you live, anything about your personality or even what you look like. You could be a bloody axe murder for all I fucking know. But I want you to leave your significant other, abandon your children, leave your family, quit your job and abandon your house...leave behind everything you know and love...drive out to Oklahoma and come to my house, climb up my stairs into my bedroom and have sex with me and get me pregnant. Then, stick around for nine bloody months while your child grows inside me, then drive me to the fucking hospital when my water breaks and hold my hand while I squeeze out your fucking kid.

I'm sorry, but if you are so fucking stupid as to think I am 100% serious when I say that, I don't want to be your friend, because you are so moronic I'm shocked your brain functions well enough for you to remember how to breathe!

Two: My personality is "too bubbly" and many of the guild members don't like being in ventrilo with me because I'm "too nice".

Okay, who the hell is such a miserable bitch that they can't stand someone who has been NOTHING but sweet, generous, caring and friendly to them? Really? I'm TOO FUCKING NICE to be a part of your guild? The person that decides they don't like me because I'm "too bubbly and nice" is the same person that has had multiple people go to the guild leader with complaints because they were openly hostile and rude, yet because they're a regular raider, they get away with murder, and the girl that's "too nice" gets booted.

So the guild leader has his priorities like this: Gear first, the HUMAN BEINGS in his guild last.

I have single handedly carried that guild for the last 12 levels, and contributed thousands of gold, a LOT of materials and gear and TIME and HELP to that guild. I have been PERSONALLY responsible for more people joining said guild because of my "too nice" and "too bubbly" personality being a beacon for people who LIKED the fact that I was friendly, helpful and generous with my time for them, and genuinely wanted to be their friend.

Yet the people who have been openly hateful and hostile to the non-raiders in the guild are the ones who were kept, and the "too nice" people were booted, because to the guild leader, THAT is the "healthy guild environment".

So, here's the long story short, people. Don't be friendly. Don't be generous with your time and help. Don't be YOURSELF, a perky, bubbly loving person who genuinely cares about your guildmates and the guild. Be an openly hostile, hateful bitch who raids regularly in your guild, and you can get away with murder.

Who's your guild leader? Vork?

If I had known that the only thing I needed to do to the GL to get in his perma-good-graces was to give him a e-beej, I would have been on my e-knees the first virtual day.

Probably would have left anyway, just because the guild was going in such a horrible direction. Throwing people out for not raiding enough, who does that?! People have to have lives separate from video games, for Christ's sake.

Anyway.

My dear husDom is a very good guild leader, and the guild is up to 12 people now. Almost level 5, too! We're looking forward to the "Cash Flow" perk, to make guild repairs less financially impactful to our Vial of the Sands fund. We're thinking about recruiting now that we're stable. We have a 15 person Ventrilo now!

Ok thank you for posting this because I have some real complaints about men, games and nerds in general. And my point differs somewhat I think.

First, scanty armor.
Maybe I have been playing LotRO too much but I crave the game that would provide me with something sexy to wear. Something I would never be able to wear on the street on body I could never have. Its a fantasy, its a game, I dont have to fear scorn or unwanted attention from the community if I dress to feel sexy.

In games with social armor options (WoW doesnt have that yet, does it?) I am happy to wear whatever looks like tight jeans and T-shirt most of the time. But when I feel like a maniacal hooker from hell, I want to look like that too.
The only game that had social clothes I really liked was old Anarchy Online. Shooting people dressed in white thong and spaghetti top, something I could imagine my character sleeping in and getting out of bed straight out on the street to massacre everything in sight - now that was what made my virtual day.

Tera I dislike. It is too flashy for my taste. I want something I would actually wear in bedroom. Satin, leather, plain white cotton, whips&chains...


Men in games.
Or maybe I should say boys, because 99% I tend to meet are around 16-20 mentally even if they are much older.
There is a type that drools all over you once they hear you on Vent or TS and I am actually fine and have no problem with such. I tease them a bit now and then and thats it. I am too good player to need any kind of their help and I kinda like to rub it in. Makes them usually put their tail between the legs and disappear. If they stay they are quite decent group members and company one can chat about everything with.

Now the /rant
There is that other type I honestly dislike. Min-maxing loot whores. The kind of guy who sees absolutely nothing in his game but that piece of gear he needs for 0.001+ Stamina and will walk over his old Grandma without even noticing just to get it.
For those, all girls are just a giggling idiots to use as they see fit. You can have two classes better geared up and played characters, they will never see you as anything but someone only good enough to walk two steps behind them and serve the coffee. Or craft their stuff.

If you roll on something they want they are genuinely surprised and speechless. How dare you?
If you manage not only to pull aggro but tank whatever they were supposed to be tanking (Manly men usually roll tanks. Or hunters), they get mean and start yelling at you.
"Stop tanking you bitch!!!"
"Well why dont you tank it then?"

They act completely different with their male company though. Those are "buddies", they share crude jokes about Minecraft, motherboards and Steam.
When they raid lead they will always take a "buddy" over you even if they have 11 hunters in raid and you play a healer.
If you complain about lousy raid setup after 17th wipe, they will let you know its actually your fault. You didnt heal/DPS/tank/you name it good enough. Even if the 11th hunter "buddy" is in green quested gear with 3k health and incapable of grasping the principle of "stay out of fire", its still your fault.

In the end, when you had enough of all the BS and write angry post on the guild/kin/org forum, they will kick you out. Because they can. Because they disagree with female having brains and mouth to use for anything else but their personal benefit.
