I would seriously love this job. I applied for a position with a travel agency, but never got a call back. I suspect that "my experience isn't relevant to the position" but seriously I love planning trips. Even ones I'm not going on. I plan all of my friends' travel. Find them the best ticket prices, hotel deals, packages the works. Love love love!

maybe I should just start putting ads out and try to make that a second business...

Wenchie's Travel Agency...

If we ever get passports and finances accomplished and organized, I will happily consult with you. :)

Hm, I really want a closet full of matching hangers. I'm not fond of the inconsistency of all these hangers that, in my opinion, make everything look chaotic no matter how I organize it.

Also, I need a fancy date night because this dress I just got is begging me to wear it.

I did the matching hangers some years ago. But it was hard to keep on top of. Not least because things need different types of hangers. Never the less it was a good opportunity to get rid of all the wire ones that had accumulated over many years and dry cleaners trips. Now we are a hodgepodge again. I never have enough with the pincer grabby things on them. And I was thinking this week I needed more padded ones ( but you see, padded are a waste for things like shirts)

This seems to be the case. I had the problem of not being able to find enough of the same hangers. I would like to get ride of those fanned wire hangers for sure.

I freaking hate wire hangers. I understand Mommy Dearest in this :p I don't know why I hate them so much.. I just do! I have all plastic ones, but they certainly don't match.

Meeks, I suggest you close you closet door :p

(@_@) we don't have a closet door. The closet is a walk-in the leads to the bathroom... :sigh:

:blinks: My typing must be getting really bad or autocorrect is in super silly mode.

Another idea

One of the best odd and sod hangers we have is wool covered, knitted? Crocheted? I don't know.....but you are handy with this sort of thing meek me! You could COVER your horrid wire ones with wool. The 'nubby' texture of the wool stops clothes, especially silky sort of clothes, slipping off it, which is not good on say wooden hangers ( all G's clothes are on wood hangers, I have the wool one and padded ones and odds and sods. ) but wood ones too, are bulky for shirts. I end up double stacking the shirts and ironing them again :(. ( he has TOO many shirts. )

Oh... Now there's an idea. I have some yarn I can't stand that would be perfect for the hangers. I know it's possible to crochet around things, there must be a pattern or tutorial somewhere.

Serious question, for my own benefit in the future......do you not have a problem with air moisture and your clothes in such close proximity? ( I also wonder about beautiful bathrooms with huge cupboards for towels.....it looks so glamorous and sensible if you have a big bathroom but I wonder about the sad towels at the bottom who do not come out very often and always being in a bathroom.......)

So far no problem with our clothes. The bathroom is off to the side with it's own door and directly across is the bar for all our clothes. We do have a set of shelves that I keep folded towels on inside the bathroom. So far no problems, but we use the vent the entire shower and leave it on for an hour or two after the shower to reduce the moisture. I also switch the towels a lot so they're circulated through the wash often.

Our bathroom isn't very big, but I suspect the person that lived here before us was very tall. The closet bar is really high up and difficult for me to reach. Our bathroom towel rack is weirdly high and I actually can't see myself in the bathroom mirror. Well, I can see my hairline. o_O;; I sit on the floor in the closet in front of a full length mirror to put my makeup on and such. Mister doesn't have any issues but agrees that they are not standard heights.

I'm hooked on the very flat velvety ones. I wear a lot of scoop or boat neck tops and they actually stay ON these hangers. I'm gradually getting rid of the round plastic hangers.

Our layout is opposite Meek's...bedroom leads into bath leads into closet. No door between bed and bath (dumb in some ways, but advantageous in others). There is a decently strong vent fan in the bath, close to the closet, so moisture isn't an issue, as long as one remembers to turn the fan on during a shower.

Our linen closet is in the center hallway, across from the laundry, the kids' bedrooms and their bath. I would very much like to renovate our bath and put a small linen cabinet somewhere. We have a shower and separate tub, and I'd like to do away with the tub and make a larger shower. I've always wanted one of those waterfall showers, and it would be fun to share more showers with Master.

Oh I have some of those. ^_^ They work very well for the wide necked garments. I've had the round plastic hangers cause shoulders in some pieces to stretch and become misshapen. :(

From 80 degrees (27C) in the daytime to 40 degrees (5C) at night. Sure, why not?

What has been seen cannot be unseen.

It'd be awesome if I remembered that more often before going poking about places.
