I get to have thanksgiving this year two weekends in a row
A friend will miss out on thanksgiving proper, so we are doing the whole thing again, the weekend after. Hooray!

In UK many had not heard of Black Friday until just last year, maybe year before. Now there is an advert on tv saying this is 'black Friday Week'.

I was just about to say I was having nothing to do with it but realise that we have a date to meet some one in pretty City that day. I hope the carnage takes place mainly on line, not least because I am taking dogs. Girl dog will have to wear her muzzle.

I just saw a store advertising Black Friday sales yesterday. No doubt we'll start celebrating Thanksgiving soon.

People have been asking me what I'm doing for Thanksgiving...

The Short Humans are with the ex/his wife for Thanksgiving this year, so I am staying home, in pjs, eating whatever I want and drinking wine. I might have Brie and fruit for dinner; I might say screw it and eat pie. Regardless, I am bailing on the whole thing, because I can.

Isolated blurt bit, to meet post requirements -

It is the height of annoying to meet someone this wonderful, only to have work schedules and business travel completely trash our ability to see one another until January. The fact that he's just as frustrated by the logistics as I, isn't very comforting. At this point, I'd be overjoyed with an afternoon layover between jobs...
