Heh... my wife and I were out there too! We were lurking on the Isle of Dogs, just after the 17 mile marker. As you say, the weather was weird, alternating between icy breezes and bursts of burning hot sunshine. It was great to see at close quarters the masses of runners, including a few that we were there specifically to cheer on. It was also an eye-opener to witness in person the pace of the elite runners. On television, the foreshortening of the camera lens tends to make it seem that they're just jogging along gently, but I can assure you that they're shifting along at an incredible rate. I'd struggle to keep up with them even if I sprinted alongside them for a short distance.Been out to cheer on some London Marathon runners. Freezing out there, but maybe that was good running conditions. Amazing to see it in person rather than on the telly.
After that, we went down to the Brighton Twisted Market and afterparty. It was a busy day for us, but a satisfying one too.
