The NEW UK Kink Thread

On another note, it's the anniversary of the Manchester bomb today. Hubby and I were in the city centre when it exploded, with our baby.

At first, we all thought it was a hoax, and we were wandering around grumbling. Then there was a massive noise and everyone started running. It crossed my mind that we could actually be running towards another device ready to blow :(

I wasn't allowed back to my car, which was actually parked only a couple of hundred yards from the bombers van (when I did get to it, about a week later, it was massively damaged with huge lumps of masonry). All public transport was off, so we eventually started to walk the 7 miles home. It was so hot, and we'd run out of drinks for the baby, so we called in a little newsagents. The guy there loaded us up with water and squash and refused to take any money from us.

The baby slept through the whole thing :)

Yes, I remember that. I'm from Warrington, and that's exactly what happened there, people fleeing the first bomb ran straight into the path of the second one. I was supposed to be in town that day but overslept, and by the time I got there, the whole place was locked down. Sometimes being an idle youth had it's good side.

Yep. God knows how no-one died in Manchester. Unlike Warrington :(

So much sadness in the world sometimes.

It was a miracle that more weren't killed. Bridge St, where the bombs were planted, is quite narrow by city standards, and where the bombs were placed, there was literally nowhere to run. I think the devices were much smaller than Manchester, and the property damage much more contained. The devastation in Manchester was shocking, more so because I knew the area well, spending quite a bit of time in and around the Arndale, Oasis of to the side (in particular the Top Rock Shop), and the Corn Exchange. Happy days, those :)

Hey Lucy, how was Camden?

Oooo, well, it was very quiet in terms of numbers. There is normally a side bar as well as the main dance/bar area, butt it was closed for refurbishment. Maybe that put people off,or it's holiday season, or because this mont's event was not promoted so heavily as normal... don't know. Now I like having plenty of room to shake my booty on the dance floor but it was too quiet even for me. So I hope that was just a blip this month.

Usual eclectic mix of tunes, some interesting outfits to admire and I was in the company of good friends and Master last minute decided to come too :D So we had a fun night.

What has everyone else been up to?

Good morning folks!! If this place stays this quiet, you do realise that I'm going to have get the top hat out again

Hi Lucy, sounds like Camden wasn't too bad then :)

Hi Consilience, erm, now you mention it, I suppose it does. Do you think it's worth starting a "bizarre or freaky stuff in nature" sideline? I'll certainly give it some thought :)

I know service stations are expensive, but I feel like I've just been mugged

I hate the M62...

Ah, hello everyone :) See what the threat of the top hat can achieve?

Motorway services are dreadful. Not only are they well overpriced, but do they have to be so depressing while they're at? About the only time I remember being totally glad to see one was coming back over the Pennines on the bike one January (was the M62 for that matter) in the snow, and stopping to warm up under the hand driers!!
