Sad to say that it took me to now to look at the news. I meant to, the last two times after hearing about your situation there but either it was a "oh, shiny" moment or I'm just getting old.

Houses are being issued a limit of 4 sandbags, but no sand?? Seriously, what can you do with only 4 sandbags? I suppose place them in the front and back doorway. Hopefully there's no garage then.

Just remembered there was one friend who lives up in Newcastle upon Tyne, she is probably outside of the affected area, but another friend lives (somewhere) around London. I should check in on him...

Gusts of 108mph, sounds like a category 1 hurricane, if it was for the lack of a proper vortex.

Is there a place to vacate to for flood victims?

Is the theft of sandbags that bad or are they just isolated incidents?

The sand bag issue is in localised areas, the sad thing is the floods are so widespread nationally, there just isn't enough to go round and Tbh even when there are enough, they aren't all that effective.

I haven't heard about problems around Newcastle... Mal, you are a bit closer, any flooding up there?

I see the Navy has been mobilised too, well at least they are used to water!

We don't tend to get hurricanes here, but there have been a few small twisters in the last few weeks, the storms seem to spawn them. We had one about a mile from my house a couple of weeks ago. 400 year old oak trees ripped up.

There are plenty of places to evac to safely, but lots of people are staying put.

Today has been quite dry (thank goodness) but it is supposed to get bad again tonight and tomorrow, then another storm is already mid Atlantic and on its way to give us another kicking.

And we English, a nation obsessed with weather!

Spending the morning with the Prof which isn't exactly special... Frustrating is more like it. I found something he'd been looking for for ages and between Monday and now he's lost it again.

No special time for me this weekend, His away with her GF so have a geek day tomorrow and a quiet day on Sunday trying to get the house back in order. I have been a little lax (or too busy) with the housework this week

2am? Eugh! I hate being called into work at anytime between midnight and...well, noon if I'm honest . I sympathise with you Malich. Just think of the reward of a full english once your shift is over, that always kept me going.

Fun day, did a fetish photo shoot at Dream Visions, had a lot of fun. Tried my hand at 50's pin up style all I can say is she had it wrong in Pirates of the Caribbean. If you like pain, corsets are fine, 6" heels, however are not! My poor toesies.

Having a big chocolate craving, modelling is hard work. I shouldn't get out of bed for at least a tenner!
