The NEW UK Kink Thread

Morning UK.

Feel like death warmed up today - overdid it on my run yesterday and also got an irritating cough which has kept me awake for most of the night. It's only 8.45 and I could put my head down on my desk and sleep :(

Hope everyone else is ok.

Morning all.

Virus is now having a full blown party  I'm under the duvet wearing pyjamas and passion killer dressing gown, radiator on full blast, sweating - and my teeth are chattering with cold and I'm covered in goosebumps. What a pain.

I can't go back to sleep because the tickets for son's favourite band come on sale at 9 am and he's been reminding me constantly since 6 am to get them for him while he's at school.

Hope everyone else is having a lurgy-free day.

I'd give you a hug.... but I don't want to catch a computer Virus. :)

Hope you feel better soon and got your tickets!

Long distance hugs and a warming blanket... and good luck on the tickets. Son better be properly appreciative!

Hope you are feeling better now Lally, did you get the tickets?

I need to do a mega sort out at home and get some leather ordered in ASAP for customer orders.

Really tired and a bit low.

Hope you are all ok xxxx

Evening everyone, and thanks for the good wishes :)

Yes, I got the tickets and have been promoted to 'the best mum ever' :D

Hello ladies and gents - hope you're all well!

Just my semi-regular check in (aka, I haven't died, but as per, have been exceedingly busy!)

Finished my exams, found out I passed them (yayyyy!) and so I can start my third year in june. My mum and dad have cashed in my 21st birthday present, and I have the car I was promised months back - which is a beauty, I might add... I've definitely missed the freedom of having a car!

Hope you're all well :)

Morning All

And Hello again Sophie. Glad you're not dead. Congratulations on the pass and the new car! Freedom (and expense :( )

Trying to get myself back into the swing of things following a bit of a low weekend. Hoping this week is a little calmer!

Hope the rest of you are doing ok?

Lally. Rest... lots of rest!

Morning all :)

Friday's here already and it's holiday weekend. Let's hope we all get some much needed relaxation and battery-recharging done, and let's also hope that the weather is kind.

*hug

Morning all :).

Very tired this morning. The gig last night was fantastic, but unfortunately I had a tyre blowout on the journey home. So we had an hour's wait for the rescue truck with the air gun to undo the tyre bolts, and then a slow careful journey home on the spare. By the time we arrived, we had all gone through 'tired' and reached 'wide awake' again, so sleep was elusive. Nevertheless, it was a great night and I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Hope everyone else us enjoying their long weekend, even if the weather is rubbish :)

Good Morning.

It's nearly noon here but it isn't yet so I feel safe in saying this.

Read an article somewhat recently that said we are fast embracing one ethic of the protestant culture; If you aren't always busy doing something, that isn't good. Most self employed people have to think this way to a degree, but from the way everyone seems to be talking about always feeling tired, I have to think part of that concept is based on truth. The article continued by saying that catholicism had a law or tenet (back in the middle ages) that stated you HAD to have regular periods of rest each and every day to enjoy time with family/friends.

I hope you all schedule regular rest and relaxation periods... except Sophie. A little hard work never hurt anyone. :p

On a side note, I read an email today that said you can identify where a product is from based on the first 3 numbers of a UPC code. I presume you use UPC's over there, could you confirm that products made in the UK start with 050?

"Curious minds..." and all that.

Morning all :) Hope we all managed to get some fun and relaxation this weekend.

I agree with LWulf - I feel guilty unless I've worked so hard that I'm exhausted by the time I get home  A couple of years ago, my accountant (who is my ex-boss) suggested that I earn less money but have some more quality family time instead. I was horrified because it went against every instinct I have! But as my kids get older, I realise how much of their childhood I have missed, and I accept now that money cannot ever replace time/experiences/memories. Anyhow.....

I have absolutely no idea about UPC codes :D

The garage has just rung to tell me the price of my replacement tyre.

I need a cup of hot sweet tea and a lie-down in a darkened room.....

I feel for you!
I had to replace all four a while back.
It's the type of ouch that isn't fun!

Xxx

I wouldn't mind, but I'd only replaced my four about 12 months ago, so it's hardly worn :( And the discount I got when I bought 4 doesn't apply, obviously.

It was funny in a way - the girl's words were "I'm just getting your price through now......Christ, that's expensive.......are you sitting down?? Shall I tell you WITHOUT the VAT???"....

That sounds bad!! Blimey! What was the damage (without Vat ;))

You don't have laser scan bars with a UPC code under them??

That DOES sound like a lot. Unreasonably like a lot. That would be about $300 American. Is that including a new tire ...er... tyre? More understandable if it is. It better be balanced though.

Lucky for you the tyres are all relatively new though. Any time that I need to replace a tire I have to buy a whole set (4 wheel drive).

Lally, you don't have to understand what they mean. All you have to do is check if the UPC number starts with 050 if the box says "Made in the UK" and that will confirm what I was told.

If not, then it's just as much hog wash as you'd expect on the internet.

Or is it you don't call them Universal Product Code? Kind of silly calling them "UPC codes" but there you have it. :D

Puts the kettle on and sits down!!

Band rehearsal:
Guitarist pulls out a song he wrote when he was 18 and wants us to play it.
Lyrically, the mind of an 16 year old male shine through.
I can't get in the head of an 16 year old male to make this sound any good. Please can we do some P!nk?
Green Day then..... Argh!!

SACK THE GUITARIST!!!!

Even our singer, who is self-indulgence personified, laughs at his teenage efforts at songwriting!

I've tried looking but everything I have to hand says 'Made in EU'......I'll keep trying :)
