The NEW UK Kink Thread

Just to counter any rumors my presence here was just to meet loose UK women, my first try ever to make scones - attached. They totally didn't rise - by the time I learned that too much egg glazing prevents rising, they were already drenched.

Anyway, my wife was happily munching away, so I'm satisfied for now, despite the perfectionist in me.

And while I'm already here, sharing culinary achievements, I've also added a picture of my mushroom farm. I love mushrooms in all shapes and sizes.
I'm not a scone expert by any means, but those look really nice, qp. I hope your wife enjoys your next attempt even more.

As for the mushroom farm, it brings tears of homesickness to my eyes (I was raised in the military). ;) Nice.

The scones have risen reasonably well, as Lally says, use a milk glaze and they will be spot on :)

Dammit, I want hot scones now!! Or crumpets.... mmmmm toasted crumpets!

Morning all. Grumpy this morning - rotten night's sleep. Was supposed to be taking the kids to the Christmas market but I've not got the energy to fight through the crowds. So I think it's cake baking - I'm late again with the Christmas cake and there is muttering in the ranks about the zero sighting of mince pies so far this year. And maybe, following Primalex' example, a batch of scones, but the fruit variety, is due :)

Good evening all!

Back from visiting the folks, freezer full of meat and stuff for christmas... now for paperwork :( Bleh!

Hope you're all ok? :)

Well, I currently have in my kitchen: two dozen scones, two dozen mince pies, a ten inch Christmas cake and a dozen flapjacks.

Just finished eating the Sunday roast and listening to the arguments about who is clearing the table

Hoping for a better night's sleep tonight though.

I hope you get it too!

Also...... Om nom nom :)

I spent the afternoon laying out the Order of Service for Master's Dad's funeral.
A sombre afternoon, but the desire to make sure his Dad's personality came through.
I can sit back now and relax, it is done and I am just waiting for feedback if anything needs tweeking.

I have 2 cats on my lap who show no signs of moving, but the soft warmth is lovely!

Lally, mince pie over here mate! ;) xx

I'm a yank but did spend three years in Scotland with the military. Loved the people places and scenery.

Did you try the deep fried Mars bars? :D

Hiya, where in Scotland were you based? It's lovely up there, cold, but lovely.

Hello Ezperkins, welcome to the UK Room

I'm going to make a guess at Holy Loch or Macrahannish and am willing to be proved wrong :)

Sorry for giving you all a bit of a teaser about exciting things before :p

Lots of socials for the societies I'm part of, and I may be organising a charity showcase for one of them which is VERY exciting. I've got some more volunteering coming up, a few competitions and lots of work. Also seems to be the birthday season - the amount of birthday celebrations I'm attending is getting a little silly. Great fun though! ;)

Hope everyone is okay and maybe starting to feel festive? :D We put up Christmas decorations today - bit early for my tastes, but we will all be going back home for Christmas in a couple of weeks so perhaps its okay :)

I've got to say Daisy, I'm very jealous of you and your cats... I'm so going to be the crazy cat lady (not going to let an allergy hold me back...!)

Morning all. Monday again....

Glad to see Sophie's getting some work done, but still fitting in the social life :D

Off to work again soon - still need to go in early to try to catch up on my own work which has been neglected over the past few weeks. Had a major emotional crisis to deal with last night so the fall out from that will be continuing during the day no doubt.

Hope we all have a good day.

Morning all.

Lally, I thought you were going to slow down a little :) sorry to hear you're dealing with stress. Hug.

Sophie. I didn't notice much mention if sleep in there ;)

Morning all,

Sophie, I am allergic to cats, but I don't let it stop me :) I love my furry Doms, I couldn't be without them.

Mal, hope you take some time for you too!! I know this weekend was a good one :)

Lally, I hope it calms down for you a lot!!! Slow down to a crawl a while and let others take some of the weight.

I feel tired, it's been an emotional weekend for M, and I have been trying to help him through it. I know there will be ups and downs, right now I know he is on a down, and my go to reaction is to go charging down there :( we have a date planned for friday, I guess I must wait!

I'm sort if relaxing. 16 hour day tomorrow but a quiet ish Wednesday and Thursday I hope.

daisy, Friday will come soon and we know he appreciates you. Hug

No, didn't try any of those, loved the fish & chips though. The weather was cold, rainy & windy a good portion of the time in Holy Loch.

Hi, It was Holy Loch, beautiful area. Probably much better now without our Navy plopped into the middle of it.

Just realised in my semi-addled state last night i got your name wrong. my apologies :)

Touch wood, turn round three times and spit after saying something like that :)

:) the fish and chips are always good north of the border!
I take it you are back home now, or somewhere a bit more exotic than Scotland!

Should have had the Mars Bar, or my favourite, deep fries pizza!

Yep back home in the states since 1991, nothing exotic about the midwest but it's home. My wife & are semi truck drivers so we're all over the east coast US.

Morning all, hi Ezpickins :)

I've only been to Scotland once for a week, in June, and I've never been as cold in my life! The people were wonderful though - very friendly and welcoming - and the scenery was spectacular.

Hope Mal has a safe drive - I'm heading off into work now to resume battle with the mound of papers on my desk.

Have a good day, everyone.
