The Official Fashion Fairy Thread

Thoughts? You should definitely get your cuff links monogrammed if your name is Thurston Howell III or you're a GIANT DICKHEAD!

I guess that means you're getting them engraved, huh.

I'm angered you would post my name here on the forum. Now everyone knows old Thurston is the fashion fairy.

What a surprise finding you on a fairy thread.

Not surprised to see you, you ol' braggart. Not surprised at all.

Nice to see I'm still forefront in your addled brain, though a little disappointed I fell off your renowned IGGY list.

Slow day on the misogynist front and Obama bashing, or you just cruisin'?

Stirring up the GB with the shooting over at the local movie theatre. A retired police captain sent a fresh soul to Jesus. The movie is LONE SURVIVOR.

Dear Fashion Fairy,

I've decided to look for a trench coat to add to my wardrobe, for what I hope will be a classic and practical piece, to last me several years. What are the marks of a good quality trench coat?

I am personally no fan of crocs. I don't own them and I've never worn them, though I hear they are comfy for walking around the house and such.

As far as using them while you sneak around to commit murder, I'm not really sure. I mean, I don't know how quiet they are. They seem like they might squeak when you try to sneak up on someone. Perhaps a more murderous person can comment.

I have to say I'm not really well-versed in trench coats. I live in Florida, so our need for them is pretty much limited to concealing assault weapons.

I can tell you some brands that make some really nice ones, but I don't own a trench coat.

Kenneth Cole
Ralph Lauren
Burberry (but $$$$$$)
Turnbury (they may only make men's though, I don't know)
Brooks Brothers (but $$$)
Ann Taylor (for women)

That's about all of the advice I can offer. Ask about sandals and I can totally help out. :)

Tried saying fringed flip flops 3 times, fast. It cracked me up. I may be a little over-tired. :D

My footwear is sexy.

This would be true, if the calendar on your desk said it was 1967.

And you should check the sell-by date on your pixie dust Fashion Fairy.
Your trench coat advice above was lacking and not on par with the standards you've established earlier in this thread.

Could it be? No...surely he's not wearing them.... *looks closer*

Wait! Where is the extra large snack sack? And for whom do the snacks toll? Betty Crocker? Fido? I'm so confused.

I wish I had Dacron-ability.

Now you know where I get my style advice, oh Fashion Fairy. My hero, The Boss.

Yes. I saw this pic on your Insite. Then I saw it here. So, I have to say, the next time you tell me I dress like a 60 year old man, look inward, Bueller.

I'm pretty sure that's the same short hair cut you are trying to get. Either that or your girl Miley's hair.

@Em- my apologies for the lacking fashion advice on the trenchcoats. As I said, Florida doesn't really give much reason for them, so my knowledge is limited. I fear that if I gave her advice on something about which I know nothing, she could commit a fashion faux pas and come out looking like Lady Gaga. Or worse yet, come out wearing Rainshine's denim vest. I don't know if I could live with myself if that happened. It's like when a cop shoots the wrong person accidentally or when a lawyer convicts the wrong person. But way worse. You guys know what I mean. You saw that vest.

I had never heard of Affliction clothing until you guys mentioned it on here, and then I had to go look. I really want the Reaper of Truth tee shirt. I would never wear it out of the house, but I did really like the graphic.

I would NEVER pay that much for a tee shirt so I shall never have it and that's ok. I must rid myself of the desire for things especially things that will make Pmann think I'm a pretentious douche bag having a mid life crisis. (He may think that already, I don't know, but I hope not. :) )

I do not think you are a pretentious douche bag. :) You're good with me!

Affliction tees are douchie by a combination of things. It's not just the design. It's the person who wears them most of the time combined with the $90 price tag combined with the skull print combined with the fact that the assholes that wear them will do so with a sport coat. Normally I'd be all for anything that covers up that tee, but a sports coat and a tee is not cool. It's pretty much the same as Ed Hardy.

Thanks for the recommendations. :) Other tips I've seen are to try them on over a blazer, and to make sure that the buttons don't line up with your nipples.

Hee-hee, that's funny.

You know, he wore seersucker Stars & Stripes with his Chai-Chai-Rod-Ree-Gueez shit-kickers to work on Friday.

SMH. You forgot London Fog. Very reasonably priced, classic cut, and durable. I've had mine for well over 15 years, and it's still in great shape.

I don't know London Fog. But I say again, I'm in Florida!!!! :D

But, if Bailadora has had one for fifteen years, I'd say good on them. That's about half as long as Rainshine has had her teen wolf denim vest.
