The Official Valentine’s Day Contest Support Thread 2026

Welp, after using my time better in the last 2 contests, I'm back to riding that last-minute wave to the very end.

My newest story, "An Arrow in the Hand" has been submitted at just under 14k words. Gotta say, I was close to throwing in the towel once or twice.
Yay 😀

Snuck in just under the wire with a second story. At ~36k words, it's the longest single-chapter thing I've written. The first story I published here was roughly 11,000 words; that's the same length as the primary sex scene in this piece. It was a difficult piece to write, structurally, conceptually, emotionally. We'll see wot happens.

You know, as a young writer on here, I was really upset when I posted to a contest and got a lot of 1-star votes. Now, though, I'm just glad that I'm getting the votes to qualify me for the contest. Will I win? lololololololololololololololololol absolutely not, not even gonna be close to the top. Will I be THERE? Yes I will.

Is Aphrodite and the Cat a "traditional" story, so to speak? Not really, but it IS a story, although I'm tempted to write a follow-up to it to tell the story "properly", as it were. But, as it stands, I am rather proud of it.

As kindly suggested to me yesterday, here’s a link to my story submission for the Vday contest, When the Cat’s Away

It’s the first time I’ve submitted for a contest and also the first time I’ve written a trans character, so I’ll be interested to see how this one’s received!

Holy mother. I thought I was indulgent with 3k sex scenes...

Bravo.

Hit submit on my story 2 hours before the deadline.

The story represents a crazy number of firsts for me. First Valentine's Day story, or for that matter first for any contest except Halloween. Also first Taboo/Incest story. First "coming out" story. First time developing characters introduced as side characters in someone else's story. I also made extensive changes to it at the last minute to make it more taboo. I realized this morning that one change I missed slipped through and the published story has a "cousin" where it should have "sister", but I don't want to retract it to edit one word and risk missing the contest deadline entirely.

If it seems as significant next week as it did yesterday, I might do a WIWAW essay about this.

Story is set to go up tomorrow. My perfect streak goes into double digits. Guess this is the other advantage to contest entries; getting fast-tracked through the system.

I hope everyone else panic-writing with <5 hours to go has such luck.

A word of encouragement for those who made late entries. On most stories, the rating is usually the highest in the first week after publication. Your followers, who are predisposed to like your work and got notification that you have a new story up, will make up a significant amount of the voting, and you won't be on the radar for the one bombers. As long as you can muster up the 25 votes, your late entry can give you a bit of an advantage, at least on the margin.

Perfect streak of what? Contest entries? Stories without rejections, or glitches, or both? If it's contest entries, congratulations. If one of the latter, good for you, but I'm pretty sure it's just luck. I've never had an unreasonable "stuck in pending" delay and only two rejections, both easily fixed.

Yeah it's zero rejections, every story was published on the first submission. Give me a break, it's not like I have a whole lot else to be proud of...

His body was sculpted: her manner was fey
They were doing the dirty by night and by day
But she was multi-tasking,
and he couldn't help asking,
"stop writing! Please put the phone away."

Please give @anthrodisiac more erotica fuel on his ideas about Emily and I sexting.

...and that gave me a plot bunny of a wife blowing her husband while sexting with a t-girl, GOD DAMNIT!

E: the phone autocorrected wife to wide, implying Em is thicc.

Oh, ok, sexting while having sex and writing the novel on the phone. I guess that's what a bifold screen is for.

Which she most certainly isn’t 🤣

5’1” and less than 100 LBS. Genetics, nervous energy, and running 🏃‍♀️.

Hey, devices have a mind of their own, and I guess my phone likes thicc ladies lol.

Sexting while having sex, writing the novel on the phone, *and* livestreaming with a barrage of dings and beeps in the background. Poor husband is a support table for at least one device when we take into account the switching between apps to send DMs on OF with selfies attached!

Honestly this sounds like a set up I would've had if I didn't work on my own.

This is the only reason I exist, to seed the universe with further plot bunnies. I am the P-Bun Progenitor. Worship and/or fear and/or hate me.

Also: Every time I hear "plot bunny" my brain immediately converts all the characters to actual bunnies.

Shit gets wild.
