Law enforcement's been getting hand-me-down anti-mine military vehicles lately. Very bad sign.

Homeland covers all government law enforcement. The military budget is broken down by branch. The real difference is if LE makes a huge bust or a lot of head way they get more money. If soldiers win a war they kick us out and send us home with broken gear and broken friends.

Not quite true Raven....I spent 24+ years in the Coast Guard from South east Asia, the Drug wars in the Caribbean, to desert storm and enduring freedom. I made my sahre of significant drug bust when in south east region and Or budget never went up most often we got budget cuts.

Yes they have. But those hand me downs they are getting do work. They also get a list of weapons as long as my arm. My unit finally got m-2s ten years after we came back from Iraq. We use some for the same nonworking helmets that were supposed to be replaced before Iraq started in 03. We have four officers and one sidearm. And as good a shot as I am, having fired that piece of...its well past its expiration date. I own the civilian model and have scored expert with it. Neither of them have adjustable sights. Mine is just in that much better shape. State LE have to pay for their weapons, but government LE do not.

That's because you costies are military. You have been for some time. If you fell under homeland exclusively the coast guard would have better gear and pay.

The coast guard pay is about ten thousand less a year than most state or government LE that do intercoastal patrol. In Florida even fish and game make more than the equivalent coast guards man.

Oh trust me Dragon if that day comes a hell of a lot of soldiers will be on the side of the people. Reservist don't make enough to live on and neither do most guards men. And we can't be called to war against our oven civilians. Thats still in our constitution.

I'm just happy that a retiree from my own home state has publicly announced that if it comes to that, he'd take personal command of the US Armed Forces and fight the feds.

I've seen enough blood shed that I hope it doesn't come to that. But I've also seen enough stupid stuff to know it can.

Something to remember Dragon. The feds, the ones who will be told to carry a guns against civilians, most of them are family men and women. Most of them own firearms at their homes and would fight tooth and nail to keep their weapons.

On a side note the midwest is full of former service members who own firearms. If the government moves against civilians... Even if they got NATO troops involved it would be a one sided war quite some time.

And I hear you on the RW... Work has been a bear... Nemesis has been at it again. I think I really am going have to kick his arse. Got flipped at TKD last night when I wasn't expecting it (kinda haven't learned to break my fall yet) so I'm a bit stiff today (and there are soooooo many others reasons I'd rather be).

Cg isn't normally on too late as he's normally up with the birds I think, but I guess Raven and Razor decided to go clean their guns or something.
