The Predators Among Us

I figure with the nature of this board the predators will be drawn here. I myself haven't come across any personally, but I have no problem deleting any unwanted pm's or just telling them to go fuck themselves.

Sorry for anyone going through this. It has to be unnerving.

Looks guilty

I hope I have stopped doing it. The last couple of "applicants" I had I said no to because they would have been in that category.

I can say that none of my current "involvements" fall into the "rescue" category, and for me that's a huge improvement. Doesn't mean I don't get caught up in the moment and have to stop myself on occasion though.

Meh, I admit a certain degree of attraction to crazy. But once you catch it what ya gonna DO with it?

Too daunting.

Gracie... the rescuers, the real one's, do it for the same reason a lot of people go into law enforcement, or firefighting, or nursing or other "giving" professions. It allows them to feel like they are doing something worthwhile, that they are helping, that they are making a difference to someone... anyone. It gives their own life meaning, something that they may otherwise lack.

As a new graduate nurse, I kind of took offense to this statement at first but I realize that this is a very generalized statement and wasn't meant to include ALL people who work in "giving" professions.

But honestly...

... really, dear -- how are you???

You and me both, but that might just be the fakeness that gets me. I hate people who ask me how I am, but dont' really want to know.

All i want to say is.

I'm not a predator,

I won't ask for ur phone number [since i can't afford the bill to call u]
I won't ask 4 ur adress either [I live in different country than most of the members here]

and I won't ask anything like money or anything. All I need is something safe and online.
