Yeah to me, squick is a separate entity than other types of limits. I mean, if T wanted to beat me bloody and brand what's left, it wouldn't mentally give me shivers but I'd be redding out long before he was done. "Squick" to me is something that passes physical limitations and keeps my mind from even accepting it as a possibility. I don't think I can be "coached" or "mentored" through this and frankly, have no desire to be. I've seen Shank's sounds. I don't like it. LOL, yes....I have been known to be on the verge of passing out (and would have if the doctor didn't stop) when talking in depth about such things. I am fascinated by biology love reading about it and have a good knowedge base, but for some reason once someone gets into talking in depth and at length about those areas and how everything works, I begin going green. It was hell in biology class...my teacher was warned but didn't believe it was as bad as it was until she turned and saw me getting paler by the second and breaking out in a sweat..she kindly told me I could leave the room.

I'll tackle the branding squick as best I can. It amounts to why it is being done and your ability to accept it. LOL, I remember asking him why he stopped because apart from feeling the heat approaching and a miniscule of a milliseconds pain, there was no further pain. I had heard the sizzling and crackling though, just figured that must have been something else, not my flesh. Having a flu at the time I was spared the stench of my burning flesh which he said was far from pleasant. The reason it didn't have the level of pain you often read about in stories of people who say they have experienced it is because he managed by some miracle to have the brand at the right temperature to kill the nerves almost on contact....if it is not hot enough, then you get pain because the nerves are exposed and raw and very much capable of feeling everything just as you do with superficial burns in the kitchen. He treated it afterward to minimise infection, kept a check on it for the next day, then left the care up to me. He also had no problem slapping it, and yes, that did hurt because the area around the brand was tender. My only regret is we didn't have anyone there to capture the moment on film of some sort for sentimental memories apart from just seeing the brand.
