For london days I am always in bed by 6pm, so i get the chance at 8 hours rest. But sleep is difficult because of the light and the fact the neighbours don't really quiet down until about 11pm. But I am so knackered currently I'm hoping i'd sleep through the Apocalypse.

Seven. My old boss used to do that as well

"I'm going to such and such a site. Where is it?"

"Never heard of it."

"Can you look it up for me?"

"Boss, I'm in my car, on the road, where i have been since 3am this morning. I don't have access to the internet."

"oh... ok, I'll look it up before I leave"

GAaaaaah"

Same problem for me with the light - it wakes me up way too early so I have to annoy people by chatting to them in the early hours. So it may come as a relief that I'm having a blackout blind fitted tomorrow morning. On the other hand, I have so much fun with my early morning conversations, I very much doubt I'll stay asleep!

My business partner, before he retired, used to go out on the road a lot. He never used to find out where he was going apart from the general area....like Liverpool....and then he would ring me from the car, ask me to find his destination on the map and talk him there. Didn't really help that he didn't know his right from his left which added an extra dimension to the proceedings. And of course, I wasn't busy anyway

There was no-one more grateful than me when satnavs arrived... :D

That didn't seem to help. I read a map before i go, get close then use my phone for the fine detail... not sure why he couldn't do the same. Mind you, fine detail was something that often eluded him.

And how did you use the phone for fine detail when you were driving?

I don't. I find a parking space near to where I need to be, or a tube station, and then walk the last bit to the site. Or park, review, then drive again.

Parking on site's these days is rare so it's usually easier to park and walk.

Thought I'd caught you out then....:D

Nope. If for no other reason I am trying to keep my licence clean. I rely on my car too much to risk it :)

Besides, I see accidents every day that probably are speed / phone related. do not want to become one of those statistics... well, except when i'm REALLY depressed.

Which of course, you won't ever be, because if you get slightly depressed you come on here for a slap round the face with a kipper from Daisy and really bad jokes from me....and the emergency services won't have a stretcher long enough for you anyway. You don't want to arrive at the hospital with your feet sticking out of the ambulance, do you?? :D

Trust me, if I wanted to do it, I'll do it right.

And no, no kippering required.

Spent the morning with my boss, we are trying to come up with ideas to save my service, it is looking dire and I don't think the trustees are on board :(

On a brighter note, I have done a job application that is very much up my alley, fingers crossed!
It is just that I have put the last 5 years developing this service that makes it so heartbreaking.

:D I am so happy that you are looking around now!
So you are down in town tomoz? One day I will get you that cuppa :)

I am, shall be spending part of the day near Blackfriars and part near London Bridge... I think.

I hope to be on site by 7:30 and leaving the city by 2pm ish.

Trying to remember the password for a site I've not used in about 5 years... This is proving somewhat difficult.

Morning all

Hope you're all sleeping soundly and dreaming pleasant dreams. Another bad night for me but hopefully I shall survive the day :)

And got a response from the person I messaged. The response was a negative, but a positive negative.

So while a little disappointed, I at least feel I could be on the right track.

Morning everyone.

Safe journey, Mal.

Rare day off for me today - home alone so who knows what mischief I will get up to, left to my own devices....:D

Hope everyone has a good day x

Ooooh, day off Lally, have fun! ;)
Safe drive Mal!
Hi to any other lurkers :)

I am off to London today too, but the southern side. I hope the traffic is ok!
