The Wallflower and The Star Athlete (closed for Poprockz)

He let out a hearty chuckle, not quite believing what had just happened. Not only had he just taken Olivia’s virginity, it seems they had earth shattering sex at the same time. He looked down at her, seeing her face flush with pleasure. She never looked so beautiful.

‘I hope you enjoyed your first time’, smiling before leaving to kiss her.

"I did thanks to you," she said back dreamily, kissing him before sighing and leaning her head back against his pillow. Her body was still in a comfortable afterglow, fully satisfied after having cum thrice in one night. She didn't want to have to go back to her bed, but it wasn't like it was late either. Perhaps they could just lay there, snuggling for the rest of the evening.

Adrian smiled, reassured he had delivered a great first time for her. Most women bear their way through it, so he felt immensely happy Olivia had a far more positive experience.
He slowly extracted himself from her and lay beside her. He stroked her skin idly, not wanting this moment to end. Then an idea hit him.

‘We could push the two beds together. I don’t want it to feel weird after each time if you have to go sleep in a separate bed’.

She perked up at that idea, excited at the prospect. “We might have to get a mattress topper or something so that one of us does my fall in the middle-crack, but yeah. I think that would be really cool! I can buy one and some sheets tomorrow since I’ll have some extra income.”

‘Sounds good to me!’

I hop out of the bed and start moving the other bed over, completely forgetting I am stark naked. But we just had sex, and hopefully will continue to. I push the other bed with Olivia on it over a little so the new ‘bed’ was centred on the wall.

‘How does that look?’

She propped herself up and looked around, nodding in a satisfied way. “I think that’s good for now. We’ll just have to be careful about them shifting apart.”

Adrian pondered, then moved the bedside tables to either side.

‘That should help’, he said with a smile. He looked at Olivia, sitting naked on the bed. It really was a breathtaking sight.

‘Did I say how beautiful you are?’

She wasn't sure how much the tables would help, but she would just have to be careful about avoiding the crack until she was able to get a topper the next day. It was another day off, so she would have time to pick up the necessary things for the bed from the store, like sheets and such as well.

The young woman gave him a pleased but slightly bashful look, "I mean, you've got me beat in the looks department, but thank you."

‘Don’t sell yourself short - but thank you as well’.

He got back on the ‘bed’ to test its structural integrity, hoping it would stay in place for at least tonight. There was some slight movement, but nothing that would cause any major short term problems. His eyes suddenly went to the kitchen.

‘It seems in the hurry to make ‘dessert’, we forgot about the clean up. You stay put, since you cooked’.

He put on a T-shirt and boxers and began cleaning up after the delicious meal that Olivia had cooked.

She watched him leave for the kitchen, no doubt putting away the leftovers away and washing the dishes she lad left behind. It made her feel a bit guilty, seeing as she had made the dinner in the first place as a gesture of appreciation. Now he was going to be made to do extra, unexpected chores, Olivia tried to fight the urge to put on a t-shit and underwear of her own, but lost.

Soon she too came into the kitchen to help. “I know you said I could just wait, but I couldn’t stand the idea of you having to clean up a dinner I made for you out of appreciation, so I’d like to help at the very least.”

Adrian smiled at her as she came in. He decided not to fight it, 'I'll wash, you can dry', handing her a towel.

They worked together largely in silence, which allowed Adrian to think. It was clear the emotional damage done to Olivia was a lot deeper than he knew at the moment. He wanted to understand it, so he could help her to overcome it. But he knew he would need to be careful about how he did so. He didn't want her thinking that he thought she was some charity case - he realised he was starting to truly care for this girl.

Once all dishes had been washed, dried and put away, he gave Olivia another smile.
'We make a pretty good team'.

She was relieved that he had accepted her offer to help- it took a weight off her shoulders. Her hands diligently dried things and she found that the silence between them was a comfortable one as they worked. When he commented on their teamwork, Olivia wiped her hands together as a sign of a job well done and nodded proudly. "I agree- we could try out for the dishwashing olympics."

Adrian let out a small chuckle. Some of her jokes were quite cringe worthy, but somehow she made them funny. It made him happy to hear being happy. Perhaps this was step one for her in healing, understanding there can be people in her life that do care and want the best for her. He still had his idea to execute, but he needed to be careful on how he did it.

‘So when do you go back to work? What do you do exactly?’

“Oh, I take calls for an insurance company. Not the most interesting or glamorous job, but it pays the bills. I might end up having to cut back on my hours though- I have to have complete silence when I’m taking calls, and that’s not fair to you, so I’ll try to change things around to when you’re out of the apartment,” Olivia replied, already trying to coordinate things in her mind.

Perhaps she could set up on the kitchen counter and work nights instead? That might be a possibility she could look into. Even if he wasn’t going to charge her rent, she needed to save up money just in case things went sideways. Adrian was a good guy, but even good people could have changes of heart. It was just something she needed to be prepared for.

“As for when I get back, I took today, tomorrow and the next day off, but then it’s back to work. Usually I do five to 6 hour shifts on weekdays, and then one 12 hour shift on Sunday.”

‘Well apart from Sundays, that sounds like it lines up OK with my schedule. I’m not home until at least 6 or 7 most evenings. As for times where I would be here, I can busy myself with study work. I work best with headphones on, listening to concentration music.
As for Sundays, look it’s your choice and I’ll respect whatever you decide. But I think it would be good for you to cutback a little. You’re not paying rent, so take advantage of the situation and rest’, finishing with a smile.

She averted her eyes and tried to figure out a response quickly. Her first instinct was to open her mouth and say that she didn’t need rest, she needed the security that money brought. However, for reasons she couldn’t understand at the moment, she suddenly felt her eyes welling up a bit and a wave of exhaustion coming over her.

The truth was that she was bone-tired She was so tired of constantly working and going to school. It was hard; it was draining; and she just wanted a true day off. 30 hours a week would be fine for saving up just in case, so maybe she could do what he suggested.

He was given a nod before she swallowed and said, “yeah… you’re right. Maybe it’s time for a little break.”

Adrian sensed her soul had just given up resisting the turmoil of her gruelling schedule. He didn’t say anything. He just gently encouraged her into a hug, wrapping his strong arms around her.

‘You deserve a break. Maybe we can make plans for Sundays, make it a good memory day’.

She blinked away the tears that wanted to spill over and simply let him hug her, her own arms wrapping around his chest. It seemed bizarre- almost crying over something so insignificant as a day off work. Day by day, she had always managed without it affecting her much, so it was a bit unexpected to have such strong emotions come out. It was as though he was slowly chipping away at the walls she had built to keep herself afloat, the walls that held back feelings even she herself may not have been aware of.

"I would like that," she said simply, laying her head against his chest. "Not every Sunday though - I don't want to monopolize your time. You have friends and stuff, so you should hang out with them too."

Adrian smiled to himself as she rested her head on his chest, delighted that she had agreed with his suggestion. Not only would this give her the one day a week back that she desperately needed, but it freed up more time for them to be together.
Adrian had to admit to himself, he had not expected to feel this way so suddenly about Olivia. But something within her had awoken him, deep inside. He was determined to make this work between them.

‘Of course. And maybe you’ll find a new hobby, something you’ll enjoy instead spending 12 hours at a desk’.

Olivia chuckled softly against him, “a hobby? Like what? I can’t remember the last time I had enough free time for something like that.” She considered for a minute then said, “well, I suppose baking and cooking can be considered a hobby, so I guess that’s not quite true.”

What was she going to do with a whole day of free time? Especially on the days he was out with his friends? Perhaps she would watch some video game playthroughs or something- she had always been interested in games like that, so watching someone play was engaging to her.

‘I’m sure you’ll figure it out. Plus I don’t have that many friends, so most Sundays, I’ll be free’, said with a smile.

‘Have you visited the local lake? There’s some great spots up there, including some that are quite private. I go up there sometimes just for the peace and quiet. I’d love to take you sometime’.

There was a lake? She wracked her brain, but she came up with no recollection of such a place. For someone who had been in the same area for several years, she only knew roughly four spots: the college, the coffee shop, the grocery store, and the bank. The rest had been pretty inconsequential to her.

“I’ve never been there, no,” she answered thoughtfully. “I’d love to see the spots you like to hang out at though. By the way… you seem like the type of guy most want to be friends with, but are you the sort that only likes a couple close-knit friends?”

Adrian smiled at her question.
‘I’m very careful about who I get close to. I’ve been burned before, so I do have a very thorough selection process. So count yourself lucky’, said with a cheeky twinkle in his eye.

‘I’ve always preferred a small friend group. That’s what I grew up with at home, so it’s what I have always been comfortable with’.

Her cheeks flushed slightly- she couldn’t deny that it made her feel special that she was an exception to the rule. He hadn’t known her for very long before making an educated guess that she was a decent person. She just hoped he wouldn’t be disappointed with her down the road once he got to know her better.

“I get that,” she nodded. “I’ve got a couple friends I text on the phone with from high school, but otherwise I mostly just keep to myself.”

Adrian smiled, seeing the similarities in the makeup of their friends group.

‘Maybe one day, we’ll get to meet each other’s friends. No pressure though!’

He realised he had some coursework to do before tomorrow’s classes.
‘I’ve got some school work to do, but how about another movie tonight on our bigger bed?’
