WHAT!

I have received an opportunity to stay with my company. I may take it if it is something good for me, if not, I'll stay with the plan. However I'm thankful to be offered this opportunity instead of my superiors looking at this opportunity to kick me out.

Seeing Sia around, although I've managed to miss her every time! :rose:

Also, planning my Christmas card shoot, the renovations steadily taking shape, plans coming together and spending time with a little lady...even if it's because she's sick.

"We did a cabaret show together back when we were younger. He was 29. I was 42. And we were both married at the time. He called me up twenty years later when he was passing through my town. We'd both gotten divorced. After we met for drinks, he leaned down and kissed me, and said: 'I wanted to do that 20 years ago.' Then a semi-automatic drove by and honked the horn, I swear to God. It was all very exciting. I mean, I was a grandmother! So on our second date, I said: 'Before we order, I just want to let you know that I want to go to bed with you.' Then I took him home and we didn't leave for three days." - Humans of New York

I feel like there's the inspiration for a story here... and love the story they already have together!

My Sir.

My sheltie girl, Kiowa.

The sun! Though it's cold out and there are snow flurries, it's a beautiful day.

Life is good.

“Everyone lies about writing. They lie about how easy it is or how hard it was. They perpetuate a romantic idea that writing is some beautiful experience that takes place in an architectural room filled with leather novels and chai tea. They talk about their ‘morning ritual’ and how they ‘dress for writing’ and the cabin in Big Sur where they go to ‘be alone’—blah blah blah. No one tells the truth about writing a book. Authors pretend their stories were always shiny and perfect and just waiting to be written. The truth is, writing is this: hard and boring and occasionally great but usually not. Even I have lied about writing. I have told people that writing this book has been like brushing away dirt from a fossil. What a load of shit. It has been like hacking away at a freezer with a screwdriver.

I wrote this book after my kids went to sleep. I wrote this book on the subways and on airplanes and in between setups while I shot a television show. I wrote this book from scribbled thoughts I kept in the Notes app on my iPhone and conversations I had with myself in my own head before I went to sleep. I wrote it ugly and in pieces…

…Most authors liken the struggle of writing to something mighty and macho, like wrestling a bear. Writing a book is nothing like that. It is a small, slow crawl to the finish line.”

—Amy Poehler, in her preface to “Yes Please”

Best. Description. Ever.

Love this.

Hearing some very very good news from an old friend, as well as seeing said friend for the first time in too long too

All 24 prompts being spoken for!!

Prepping for a magical and romantic 'save the date' photo shoot tomorrow with candles and fairy lights and (hopefully!) snow.

...and with the week I've had, knowing that the weekend is within striking distance makes me smile a hell of a lot... :D
