Things that made you smile today ~ 2013

A lazy rainy afternoon, the yummy smell of a cake baking in my oven and a glass of milk chocolate. :)

Being publicly hated on. I was getting too complacent with all these compliments from professors, peers and authors. I needed a little baseless resentment in my life to keep motivated. :)

Managing 4 posts yesterday along with half a challenge piece today and the fact that Nanowrimo is only 4 days away!

The smell of brownie baking in the oven and pastries cooling on the side.

And stumbling across this on my internet travels...it makes my brain smile lots.

Knowing that two of those were for me made me smile. There is a small childish part of me complaining that it wasn't 5 posts in all. But I spanked it a few times and it shut up :)

But then again, 4 posts is a pretty good effort, knowing how much effort you put into them.

Also, that little extra was a nice find too.

Someone has been a very busy little bee! :)

After jammies and stories and the ABC song, we turned on the turtle night-light and the lullabies and sat in the chair with his lambie to snuggle and talk about our day, like we always do.

I told him he was so brave, today.

I said it's good to be home, isn't it?

I said it was a really exciting day, really busy and sometimes kinda scary too, but now we're back here in his own room again, just like I promised last night that we would be.

And everything's okay, and Mummy and Daddy are right here.

And we won't have another exciting day like that again for a long, long time.

But we'll have some fun tomorrow.

And Mummy and Daddy love him so much, and we're so proud of him...

Then I realized he'd fallen asleep on my chest.

So we sat like that for a while, because I just wanted to hold him a little longer, tonight.

Finally I kissed his downy head and stood up with him - waking him, but he smiled and said, "hug," and buried his face in my shoulder.

I told him I love his hugs the most, and that now it was time to lay down in his own bed, because it was past his bedtime. I said we'll have lots of fun in the morning.

I kissed him and said, "Goodnight, buddy," and put him down, watching as he immediately curled up on his side with lambie.

I walked out, softly closing the door with a happy sigh...

...and about two seconds later, could hear him jumping on the bed, singing and squealing at the very top of his voice. :D

Oh, my darling boy. Every day.

<snipped for brevity>

Oh, my darling boy. Every day.

This not only made me smile, but gave me a laugh, and a little trip down memory lane. Both my lads have done similar to both myself and Mrs M13.

They are so adorable at that age. Sometimes, it is a pity that they grow up.
