Things that piss you off?

I had a great vacation all last week only to be surprised when I got home to find there was a leaky pipe in my bathroom and some of my things got damaged in there. I guess the bright side is that my apartment complex found out and came in and fixed it before anything major happened....

at least as it appears for now. I wont know until Wednesday if they're going to have to redo the sheetrock or not. It's still drying out... going on day 4 of drying from when they found that it was leaking. I'm just hoping the carpet and inside the walls doesnt mold.

BobsGirl--trifle, maybe? Fruit, custard and whipped cream cover a multitude of sins...

EJFan--just two words--spraying mechanism.

The people I work with have no morals, no scruples, and no shame when it comes to food. I might as well be working amongst cats and dogs.

Most of the time one's food is OK if you put a label on it, and I have a sheet of address labels I keep at work just for the purpose of labeling my food. But this morning I brought a new bottle of Coffeemate vanilla chai flavored coffee lightener, and forget to bring up a label to put on it. I put it behind a bottle of hazelnut stuff that was just about used up and did have a label on it, thinking to bring up a label later. Mind you, it was new and had never been opened.

So later on I brought up the label to put on the bottle and SOMEONE HAD OPENED IT ALREADY. Sheesh!

In other respects, they're very honest--I have a gold ring with an amitrine setting that I'm always taking off when it gets cold in the office and forgetting it there overnight, and nobody has ever touched it, but still--at least I should have been allowed to be the first one to open up my own coffee lightener.

Tony: Now trifle is a great idea. The texture was not as light as a cake should be, but a trifle would cover that up.

W & U: That sounds icky. Sorry you have to mess around with that. But thank God the maintenance people dealt with it before you had a huge problem.

How was the pizza MrWag? I made homemade pizza tonight too!

pizza came out pretty good. i made the dough, then went outside to do some masonry work. i then found out we did not have any mozzarella cheese. i offered to go to the store, but my wife new I wanted to work on the masonry, so she said it was no big deal. we made them with mexican blend cheese.....it actually was pretty good. I think next time i'll add some of the mexican blend with mozzarella.
i can't believe i wasn't invited. :( but very happy to hear it turned out well. :)

one of the chain pizza joints is advertising a fajita pizza. maybe if you used the mexican mix and put some grilled chicken and peppers on it you could have the same thing.

this, btw, is not to be confused with the "cheers" dish: beetabega frajita in a pita.

I am a total dumbshit tonight. I put my parking brake on, but left the fucking car in drive. That's the first time I've done something so fucking dumb in a car and I can't believe it didn't do something (what I don't know, but I'm imagining something bad). I'm so mad at myself I can't see straight, but hey at least I've forgotten all about the stupid fucking attorneys I see every damned day.

Is there any other kind?

The ones that are worth the fees that they charge are exempt, not to mention few and far between.

hi there Denae

I have a great attorney. I almost dropped by his office Monday when I was at the library, but figured he was probably in court.

Yeah, that's the only good part of the whole thing so far.

you should request they bring in a dehumidifier if they haven't already. that would suck up a lot of moisture

They did bring one of those in with the fan (I just didnt know it was a dehumidifier until today). It's been making my entire apartment about 20 degrees warmer than it is outside though. That only helps to magnify everything else.

Today, what pisses me off more than anything is that for my next lease, my apartment complex wants to raise my rent by $120 for me to sign another lease with them. Since I'm not willing to pay that much for this apartment, I've got 12 days to inform them in writing that I will be leaving and until the end of July to find another place to live and move. This is not my idea of fun right now.

Thankfully I don't have need of an attorney. Unfortunately, I wish I didn't need to see them as part of my job. They need fulltime babysitters and that's probably all I should say at this point. I'm just sick of the lot of them and their immature clients.

Bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch.

And before I forget, Hi back to you DGO, hope your evening is going swell.

It's fine! My nephew spent the day with me and that's always a riot.

my favorite part of the whole thing is that a couple of months ago they told me that if it was a huge increase, that they would try to work with me. Today they tell me that it is what it is and there's nothing they can do. I'm so mad I could just about rip all my hair out.

listen up!

there's no "X" in "escape" and there's no "R" in wash. got it????

Don't do that, it might not grow back. Calm down and look for a place to move. Keep in mind it might not be all that you want considering the amount of time you have to get this done.

I certainly understand your anger & frustration. I'd feel the same way. I just moved to a new location in February due to a condo-conversion. I'm not crazy about the place, but I also felt like I had to do it in a rush so I gave up quickly.

DGO has posted some good advice and I'd only offer the suggestion that you look at areas you hadn't considered before as you may find a little gem, also think about looking at a smaller place-meaning not a huge complex, one that may be privately owned and not a corp.
