Things that piss you off?

Getting a quasi-promotion/pseudo promotion at work.

I get a new title and new responsibilities. YAY me!

Does it come with a pay raise? Screw academia.

now that bites

Yes, and those are the things I hate about my job. I love the actual teaching part--the being in the classroom--90% of the time. But the rest of it blows some days.

This will be the begining of my 5th year teaching. I just figured it out last year.

Counting the years I taught while in grad school, I have been doing this for 14 years now. You would think I would have learned the less efficient thing long ago.

Apparently a glutton for punishment as I am about to go read those pesky placement essays on a SATURDAY.

I think I've lost my mind.

Things that piss me off?

Have you noticed how increasingly, doctors' offices and other medical places where you have to wait, instead of putting out back editions of People and Time and the like, you get these slick little publications that are made specially for doctors' offices and labs and have mostly pharma ads and maybe 6 inches of honestoGod reading material?

Yesterday morning I put some milk on my cereal and noticed that it was getting a tad past its prime, but I figured it would last the day in the fridge. It did not, as my son sputterinly informed me after he poured himself a glass of it last night.

And we wonder why some of our prescription drugs are so expensive, what with all the advertising costs.

My grandmother's illness required that she take a shot once a week for four weeks--at about $1800 a shot. The med that she's using now, on a three-weeks-on-two-weeks-off regimen, is about $5K a month. Fortunately her insurance covers most of it.

I don't even want to think what the meds my husband and I take would cost, out of pocket.

I could go on forever on this GREAT thread...

But what pisses me off is watching my ex make an asshole of himself when he lies, manipulates and makes up stories to make himself feel better about what he did to me.

It pisses me off that even though he has a girlfriend, he can't focus on his relationship with her but still continues to badger me.

It pisses me off that it still hurts and I am trying to move on.
