Things that piss you off?

I can help with your dryer problem. Get yourself a Sears Kenmore HE model washer and dryer. They are very well build and energy efficient too. Don't buy a Maytag. Don't buy a top loading washer.

We have an HE4 washer and an HE4 dryer. They are excellent. If you are short of cash, find a Sears return depot and buy a refurbished model, for about half the price.

The HE2 and 3 are good too. Just less features.

Sweeterika had a very good thread on this subject a few months ago when she was considering such a purchase:

Thanks, but my dryer that has gone on the fritz for the 3rd time in months is a Sears Kenmore HE.

[sighs exasperatedly]

Cash for buying a new dryer isn't an issue. I am just torqued that the dryer is torn up YET AGAIN.

WPMO. . .

A few months ago, we left our carpet shampooer with my in-laws because one of my husband's brothers wanted to use it to clean his vehicles' upholstery. It was returned to us recently, and when I tried to use it today, I discovered that it doesn't work.

I know--neither a borrower nor a lender be.

WPMO today...

...9/11 conspiracy theorists! they're a lot like a cockroach: every time you step on the fuckers, they keep moving just a bit.

i may need to utilize some truly advanced snark on this one. which prospect now has me smiling. :>

Are you referring to the ones on the GB or elsewhere?

My golf game sucketh. Why didn't I just snap my putter in half and stab my heart with the jagged shaft when I made the three-putt bogey from 6 feet? It would have saved 15 holes of agricultural hell.

But I might get to play again next week. :p

Today, highway driving pisses me off. I didn't have the patience today to deal with assholes, and there were plenty to go around.

Yep, and I'm LOVING the Frigidaire HE ones I bought with that advice, too! Plus, between the low prices, store incentives, rebates and keeping that money in our investments for a year, they cost almost nothing, as far as appliances go. :catroar:

Consumer Reports ranks all of the major brands according to how many major repairs/replacements required. IIRC, Kenmore and Maytag didn't fare well, particularly considering their higher prices. CR has a free trial if you're in the market for a new dryer and need to do some research, Saro.

Maybe it's a bit much to say this pisses me off, but it really, really bugs the shit out of me.

I hate reading articles in the newspaper about car crashes. There's one in today's paper that reads, "Her car failed to stop at the intersection of. . ." How annoying. Unless there was some sort of mechanical malfunction, the car didn't fail to stop. The driver failed to stop the car.

Pissed off isn't exactly correct, but I'm amazed at the number of spelling errors and typos in the book I'm reading. Doesn't anybody spellcheck these things?

I had a very similar reaction to one that I read recently, by John Warren. Are you reading the same thing, by any chance?

Nope. Incubus Dreams by Laurell K. Hamilton. It's like a five-hundred-page sex scene with a little bit of violence thrown in.

Junk food.

Sounds like my kind of travel read - except for the violence (unless it's SM-style violence  ).

Indeed it is. I'm amazed I even noticed that some of the words were misspelled.

Fucking fuck.

All I want is ONE day - perhaps just ONE afternoon - in which /I/ could do what /I/ want to do. In fact, I don't even KNOW what it is /I/ want to do, I'm always doing someone else's shit.

And all I wanted to do this afternoon was my own laundry.
