Tihmmnmmish's Cuddle-Friendly Fireside Threadcast

At one time I wanted to write a whole saga consisting entirely of poetry but I think the start of it got lost in the system somewheres and now I find it hard to write a long poem let alone a saga.
Long wriggly things brings to mind Men in Black sorry that's how mind decided to work just then and I don't even like the film.

I posted a poem once and got a lot of praise as to how diff folks perceived it and I thought oh well thats fine then carrry on lol

By the way, speaking of house rules, I occasionally browse worlds beyond this one, just because it's possible. Found one (forget the name), a story site, where to retain membership, to be allowed the privilege of submitting/posting your poems and stories, you had to- had to - comment/review someone else's work, forget how many, but it was a minimum requirement. The way it worked: you submit your story or poem, and then it sits for a few days (forget how long: seven to ten?), during which time you go and read others' works and leave your comments/reviews. If you don't satisfy that prerequisite, then they will not post your story or poem. There was more. Like behavior on the boards, and you'd receive so many demerits for such and such infraction, for saying something you shouldn't.

Now apparently there were plenty of people who had no problem with all this and signed up and complied with that site's house rules. I chose to decline further involvement, clicked away, gained fresh appreciation for the comparative laxity that Lit permits. The setup really allows one to do one's thing as one feels on any given day.

Are you sure you hadn't wandered into a Catholic school?
;)

yeah missed out on that too, catholic upbringing
no uniforms, no stern-eyed nun-teachers with rulers or paddles
just ordinary american methodists with few real fears, even jerking off
not really smiled upon, something to warn against but understood.
whoopdedoo, big fun there huh?

Do you know I am feeling physically ill with all this friend against friend stuff ...... have you got a snuggle blanket that I can cuddle up under and hibernate for a while? chicken soup would be acceptable later

I've been at a few places like that, too, signed up at one. I don't mind reviewing poetry. I've done it a lot and I can put a lot into a review. What bothered me was there was a knot of friends at this one place and they gave each other great, detailed reviews. But a newb, like me, got pretty limited perfunctory reviews. And I know my poems were as deserving as anyone's. I lasted about two weeks. As much as I dislike Lit's voting system and have been a comment slacker for about a year now, I like the comment system here. Do it if you want, however you want, or not. And people are pretty fair: if you give comments you generally get some.

I should start commenting again. I got burnt out from doing it and reviews so much for so long.

Oh and I remembered the writer I couldn't before. It's perdita. She's a marvelous writer.

Had a good cuddle in Hmmnmm's blankie, a weep on his shoulder followed by chicken soup. Ron told me to stay out of things but I can't ...... it's worth mending too good to throw away

Oh sorry I wasn't implying you don't work hard on them it's just you do them so well

Oh, no apology necessary at all. I took it as a compliment. If someone looks at one of my form poems and thinks it was easy, then I think that could be a good thing.

many lovely treasure boxes spill over with so many gems that there is really no point in trying to gather all at once, the designs they all make together, linked and tangled, why disturb it, which is just as well since this fireside host has been caught in something of a bind anyway, whether the bind is literal or metaphorical is open to interpretation, easily a 50/50 situation. Or it could be called a mess. A messy messy entanglement. momentary confusion. the dark side of not caring where you go. Or thinking you shouldn't care where to go, because if too many ways are open... and they are all equally attractive... but you know you can only choose one, at least one at a time...but please, make yourselves comfortable and... you know. I will peek in now and then. Already picked out a few pearls for closer consideration, later.
