aha
your frottage inspired the exercise
I had an idea what you meant but couldn't rest until I was certain.
So, in one hand was 'google' and in the other hand was 'dictionary' as in the real book a mere six inch reach away. google is informative but cold. Dictionary is personal, worn, old, warm, and informative, and so was the greater pleasure, no less because of the way it used 'rub'.
A great word too, nice feel, 'frottage'.

Not so great when you used to work with teenage male sex offenders and that was one of the things you had to look out for!

btw, I finished my Valentine's Day story and submitted it. I stayed true to my feelings on the holiday but took it down a few notches from my prior sentiments of a Valentine's Day massacre. LOL

It's called "Valentine's Day Alone." It will probably post after midnight EST tonight. Contest entries usually post the next day.

Will look out for it now I have the link how on earth do you find time to write form poems and stories? I'm working my digits to the bone with just the poems!

well.. I was going to try to convince hmmnmmish into writing my articles for today, but his whole "pleasure principle" kinda blew that one out of the water.

Do you think the Tom Sawyer approach would work?

hey, hmmnmmish... just 4 short articles, 350 words each.. they are so much fun! I wish I had more of them to do everyday! sigh, I feel so sad when I'm done with them for the day, but then I remind myself that I'll have 4 more to write tomorrow! It's like an eternal Christmas!

well no, not a lot of pleasure-for-its-own-sake there. I would have very little sympathy and less patience.

And it would be easy to choose writing a form poem with triggers than doing that.

well, time for me to go paint my fence <glares at hmmnmmish> LMAO

need to get focused on it if i want to be done well before Ghost Hunters starts!

Did you know that 'blooms' is a pretty hard word to rhyme?

I don't remember ever rhyming "blooms" in a poem. I thought of "tombs" right away. (as I would.)

Here's what pops up on a rhyming tool online:

booms, brooms, coombes, coombs, coomes, crooms, dooms, flumes, fumes, groomes, grooms, humes, looms, plumes, room's, rooms, tombs, toombs, zooms

2 syllables:
assumes, consumes, costumes, exhumes, maktoums, parfums, perfumes, presumes, resumes

well your articles/fences probably have to be Stand Alone articles...

well your articles/fences probably have to be Stand Alone articles...

LMAO

indeed they do... but sometimes I "cheat" by repeating and rewording pertinent information from past articles that I've written...

They are still stand alone article, dammit!
;)

The blooms were pertaining to titties but I got there in the end using Rhyme Zone lol now what the hell do I do with this Haiku?

see, i'm gonna cry cuz i'm done with my articles for the day. ;)

Annie, which haiku? Did you read that article about haiku by jthserra?

Did you know that reading the new poems can be hazardous for your health?
LOL

My butt hurts!!!
So, I was lying in my bed with my laptop, reading & commenting on new poems, like a good little Litster when I turned slightly and..
holy hell!!!
shooting pain right along my tailbone

(and if any of you have coccygeal pain, you know exactly what i'm talking about)

It took me about 10 minutes just to be able to stand up.
Then, I gotta laugh...

a) because I suffer from a pain in the butt
b) my natural reaction to severe pain is laughter

Thank God that when I get these attacks of coccygeal pain that the pain comes and goes in very short, but excrutiating, bursts. It's the kind of pain that sucks the air from your lungs.

And, according to my doctor, there's not much that can be done.

like i'd be reading poetry while there's a doctor in my bed....

pleaz!

Stethoscopes could be fun, I mean poetry... stethoscopes could be poetry I mean, and fun, because poetry can be fun, and poetic stethoscopes would be wonderful tools to have around the house, or at least someone who can use them ably, or ably use them, the stethoscopes that is, and the poetry too. A stethoscopic coccyx specialist, and masseur.

Shut up and rub my bum..

LOL

Oh silly me. I first read that as 'I'd like to be reading' instead of what it is, 'Like I'd be reading...' You changed it didn't you? While I perplexedly composed that last one you changed it. Conspirator!

I did not change it. I think it's quite obvious that I would not be reading...

sigh... if i wouldn't have given birth to half-grown toddlers instead of normal-sized babies, i might not have this problem.

ETA:

i rarely invite a man into my bed, and i sure don't spend those rare occasions reading poetry....
