Tihmmnmmish's Cuddle-Friendly Fireside Threadcast

<pouting>

i want to write poetry too. But hmmnmmish said I can't today...

LOL

i'm working on my articles now. Then, I'm almost done with my schoolwork too. Considering i only slept about 2 hours this morning ("last night"), I'll be done about the same time I fail to be able to keep my eyes open.

ETA:

hmmnmmish, could you pick me up a pack of cigs? I tried to today, but they wouldn't let me cuz my ID is expired. My daughter loves when that happens. She, being her 16 yo self, mocks the clerk as we leave the store.

You need ID for cigs?!!

Yes, you do. You have to be at least 18, but some people (as in new employees who don't know me yet) will card you if you look under 27 (or something like that).

Considering I am a year more than twice the legal age, I guess I should take it as a compliment. But, walking out of the store cigless like a teenager gets kinda old after awhile.

I don't even try to buy much at Walmart that you need ID for.. you know, the cough medicine and stuff. Twice last year, they wouldn't let me buy a rated R movie.

:(

I really need to get my driver's license renewed.

Oh, hmmnmmish-- Marlboro Lights 100's please!?

But if I don't see your ID then I'll get in trouble. You wouldn't want the law after yer buddy timmish would you?

okay, Tater.
of course, if you wanted to make sure I'm old enough to smoke, you could hit my up on yahoo and see my pic.. but ain't no one seeing my old driver's license. How do they do that? How do they take the worst pic ever every single time?
must be some evil plan...
a plot to make everyone feel ugly.. don't know.. it just never fails.

oh, and if i offer to show them my id.. with my birthdate clearly visible even though its expired, they won't take it. They have to swipe it through the cash register to make sure it's a valid ID.

wtf?

I hardly look like someone who would have or need a fake ID.

well I don't know. Just, don't know those minds. They want something else? Asking for ID is just a pretense?

Hm. Just remembered. Last time I got carded was... 2002? I think. 2001-2002. In a bar. Applebee's actually. I couldn't believe it. I was about 40-41. Waitress asked for ID. I was like, You're Not Serious. But Thank You! Or maybe they're just trained that way, for the tips. Haven't been carded since then. :(

Boy the audio stuff... that's some fun fun fun but maddening maddening maddening doings.

How do I see you on yahoo then? I was once refused entry into a Bruce Lee film (had to be over 18) I was 25 then so was well chuffed lol

I hope that middle age women are not asking me for my ID under false pretenses. Come to think of it, I rarely ever get asked for my ID by a man. I remember once either late last year or early this month, but, hmmm, probably had been awhile before that.

Of course, I almost always go to one particular store because the employees now know that I am old enough. When they get a new employee and another employee is there, I tell the new employee to ask the familiar employee if I can please have cigarettes since they know I'm old enough. LOL

It's the Irish side of my family. They are all well-preserved. All of them look young. My grandmother, who is in her mid-eighties, looks like she's in her early to mid-sixties.

What do you think? Perhaps one benefit of generations of alcoholics? like with formaldehyde?

;)

Add me to your friends list and I'll add you..
then..

*poof*
i'll magically appear!

(i'm invisible now cuz i'm writing my articles, but i would show myself as visible to you)

Geez!
I forgot you can just look at my Tagged profile. I look like I'm high in that pick and my hair is longer now, but it would give you an idea. The pic is 2 years old at the most.

Sweet dreams!

Nightie night to you and your fanny, Annie.

Well, the boozers in my family were on my dad's side.
I am a product of Opposites. Complete opposites' attraction but impossible to really sustain. You're up in Penn right? You probably know Canton-Akron-Youngstown area. That was my dad's side's world. Then my mom's side was on the other side of the state and represented the Other Side, the Good Side. The Clean side. Nice people. Generous and good and give you their last nickel for a sob story. Dad's side was the drinkin, cussin, harleys, guns, tough, stubborn... anyway, you don't wanna hear that... except old grandad, he ended up with his body all fucked up, all shot. He did make it to 78 which was much longer than he was expected. Sheer will there. But his mind, sharp all the way to the end. Now grandma, she lived to 90 and physically she was in pretty good shape, but not her mind. I once in a while wonder which I'd prefer. if I had to let one go... Like you wanted to hear all those cheerful thoughts:).

Something happy! Happy happy!

Is time something that is measured or the measurement itself?

Oh not at all. Only that your question is a very fine one, but not the type that I can whip out a ready answer in one quick Threadcast reply. But I do keep meaning to someday spend at least one day without looking once at any clock or watch.

Canton-Akron-Youngstown-- Ohio?
hmmm... no, not at all familiar with the area. Yes, I'm from PA. Central PA.
My aunt lived and went to some computer school in Northern Ohio, but I couldn't even tell you where. So, I did spend a little time in Ohio when we visited her, but that all-- and that was when I was like 9. LOL

The only connection that I really have to Ohio is that my Grandmother on the Irish side of my family says that some of my Irish family was originally from there.. maybe. The story gets very confusing. Too much fighting and drinking among the family. I believe the story goes that my gg Dunn (my maiden name) left his first wife in Ohio and moved to Cambria or Clearfield county PA... where he continued to drink.. continued to get fired from jobs on the railroads and in the mines due to drinking...
how drunk do you have to be to lose railroad and mine jobs?

oh, wait... we were supposed to be talking about pleasant things...

Ah that would make sense. Central PA. I don't compute Central PA. Woodsy? Hilly? And Actually I never lived in that Canton-Akron area. Just went there on visits. But I remember it being Gray much of the time. Gray and Hard and Cynical. Gloomy. That's it. Gloomy. Of course in nearly thirty years it might've changed. I wouldn't go there now unless there was a really good reason.

Okay... poetry and happy happy... Might have an audio thing up for subbing. Interested in how it will sound. Might sound like crap. Won't be the end of the world if it does sound like crap will it? need to just relax more about all this.

Woody? I mean, woodsy? certainly in some areas in central PA. Hilly, yes, semi-mountainous in some areas. It's kinda like expansive farmlands surrounding small cities and towns. Amish country (Lancaster county) is close to me. I live just east of Harrisburg & Hershey. You never went to Hershey, PA?

what audio stuff are you musing over?
audio stories on Lit? audio poetry?

Never been to Hershey. Seen documentary about the Product it's famous for.
The Audio... I'm half excited and half very very nervous.
